Peculiar Friends

It was a quite night in the Hogwarts library. Well, just about everyday was a quiet night, but today was especially quiet. Most students were done with their studies and were headed off to their common rooms. However, there were a few stragglers who were still in the library studying and reading. One such student was a peculiar girl by the name of Blair. She was the quiet kind, quieter than the library itself, and came off as a bit rude at times, but otherwise, Blair was just a sweet girl looking for friends.
Tonight however she was stuck in reading a book. The book was titled Ancient Runes Made Easy. While Blair wasn't taking such a class yet, she was interested in its history and wanted to learn more about runes, more specially the magic behind them. As Blair's eyes were on the page, her thoughts were trailing off elsewhere. She couldn't stop thinking about her home and how homesick she had become during her time at Hogwarts. She missed her mother and father greatly and only wanted to curl back up in her mother's lap and go to sleep. However, she wouldn't be seeing them in person again until at least Christmas!
Unable to focus on her book, Blair closed it up and set it back on the shelf in which it came from. She only hoped that perhaps she would find a friend someday so she wouldn't be so lonely anymore.

Peculiar Friends
Another one of these straggling students was a young boy named Astor Hutcherson, a student in Ravenclaw. He is a muggle-born wizard, so he didn't grow up with anything magical. Ever since being first introduced to the wizarding world, Astor has been interested in learning all he can about the magical world and everything it has to offer. His love for books only fueled this interest.
Astor was currently sitting a few tables over from the shelf where Blair was standing at, quite a few stacks of books surrounding him. He was currently reading a book on the history of magic, his eyes wide with interest. He was also taking a few notes on some of the things he read to help get a little ahead in one of his favorite classes, History of Magic. At this point Astor didn't have too many friends yet, as he was always either daydreaming or had his nose in a book. However, he hoped to make new friends this year.
"Hmm.. interesting..." Astor whispered quietly to himself as he jotted down some notes. He also doodled a bit on his notes as he read. "Oh wow... I didn't know that..." He whispered and wrote again.

Peculiar Friends

Blair set her book back on the shelf before finding another. She took it with her to her chair and settled in, beginning to read. It was a fictional book, but thus far it was quite entertaining to the girl. It was relaxing to read and helped ease her mind from the thought of her classes. She was sinking into her fictional world when her thoughts returned for a second round. She just couldn't stop thinking about her classes. She was doing so poorly and yet here she is reading instead of studying. If she is to pass her classes, she probably should get right into it.
Blair got out of her comfortable chair and set the book back on the shelf once more. She started to search for books on Transfiguration when she suddenly and accidentally bumped into a standing pile of books nearby, causing a rather loud ruckus. Embarrassed by her clumsiness, Blair's face turned a bright red and she started to pick the books back up and stack them once again. It felt as though everyone in the library was watching her! She couldn't believe she wasn't paying attention before and now she feels as though she may just have a panic attack!
