Ivan was sired by the male hair presumptive Stewart of House Meyrick. The house itself not wanting the drama and the bad press of an heir having a child with a muggle-born witch paid off the mother and made her sign a contract not to tell the child anything of his origins.
The Meyricks as a family while not bigots were very careful with whom they married and produced offsprings with. Often they married into the continent not staying withing the British Isles to make sure the magic in the family stays strong and their talent preservers.
As a small child Ivan was put up for adoption by his family. At the age of 4 he was adopted by Remigus and Lotte Solarus, a couple at the respective ages of 30 and 32 decided to adopt a child and bring to it the warmth of having a family. Ivan grew up in a small city of Penicuik, Scotland spending his years playing in the garden and enjoining the small library, consisting of a few bookshelves, his mother Lotte had in her office. Ivan mostly spent his time with his parents and the next door neighbor's kid Johnny. While inseparable the two often butted heads over what to do, as one would want to play while the other wanted to read, often agreeing to do both one after the other and forming a close friendship. The friendship having not fallen to wayside even as Ivan was getting ready to go to the Magical world he saw that having someone to anchor him in the normal world and be there when he was home for the summer was something good to have and it would make the time away from the magical side of his life past faster. The trip to the magical side of the world was positively boring, different people, different culture and thinking, but nothing special, for of the whole magical world only two things caught his notice, the goblins and their bank and the Olivander's wand. Those two were the only things that held his interest.
