“God… where is it…”
It was a rather bitter day, the autumn winds harsh and unforgiving as they cut through the halls of the school of magic like a sharp knife – very characteristic of a typical November day, the Captain lamented idly to himself as he slipped hurriedly through the rolling seas of his peers. It was hardly a secret that Mother Nature had grown quite irritable as of late, her icy tendrils wrapping about the trunk of every tree and stem of every flower with a dark and murderous sort of intent, perhaps her retribution for the many horrors that had befallen her beautiful creation in the manifold months prior. It was really no wonder, then, that the leaves were so brazen in their colors, the beautiful burning arbors desperately calling out to the world for salvation with the last of their dwindling energy as their vitality slowly left them for the scarcely-populated winter to come. Winter, that cold and fickle mistress, was, of course, well on her way – the very thought of her chilling arrival alone was enough to send a shudder through the tight limbs of the young Captain. He could already envision the sour moods, numb fingers, and difficult quidditch practices that were to come, musings that left a bitter taste in his mouth. Or perhaps the Captain was just being pessimistic.
Presently, however, Rafael could give the ill weather no such attentions, as there were far more important matters to see to at the moment.
“Not in here….”
Specifically, it had recently come to the young man’s attention that his prized notebook had been sorely misplaced, the timing of which was rather dreadful. The small book, of course, held a lot of importance to the Captain – most notably for the outlines and plans sketched upon its many pages and the doodles that decorated them. However, his urgency in searching for its whereabouts had little to do with such outlines and everything to do with the hours’ worth of notes he had recently recorded within its manifold pages – after all, the Divinations test was only three days away, and it was very unlikely he would be able to forage through these classes with his knowledge alone. He simply didn’t have the capacity towards such memorization. His notebook held hostage his grade point average – a less than impressive grade would transfigure his sparkling O to an E faster than he could blink.
Having to suffer blindly through the test was a reality the Captain was not yet ready to recognize. Besides – surely he would find his notebook in due time, right? No one would be foolish enough to pick it up. It was suicide.
“But I could have sworn… hey, wait up, you!”
Regardless of whether or not these statements were true, however, he supposed such quandaries weren’t worth thinking about presently. He needed to find the notebook as soon as possible – otherwise, his divination grade was screwed.
Rafael’s notebook was left in the library, on a table cluttered with books and paper. It contains the following:
- Many miscellaneous doodles of animals and people
- A to-do List
- Rough outlines of quidditch strategies (finalized plans found in his sketchpad)
- Grades
- Outline of a letter to his parents
- A couple of very horrible attempts at hate poetry (yeet)
- His divination notes
Have your way with them, Eve. :,)
I probably haven't collected my allowance yet.
