Emithisia knows very little of her real family. Her mother for some reason that she didn't know had been dishonored, she thinks it may be because she doesn't have magical abilities and she married a muggle. The only othe family member she is connected to is her grandma Ola, she doesn't know much about the rest of the family but she know that her grandma was a powerful witch.  She told her anything she wanted to know about her family, which wasn't much. She asked mainly about magic, if there was anybody else in the family that was magic, or if she could teach her how to use hers. When she had heard about hogwarts she was instantlyobsessed she filled tons of notbooks with drawings of what she thought each place looked like. So you can imagine when she got her letter she was estatic, she practically did a back flip. Well tried anyway, she ended up landing on her face. She went to get sorted in expecting to become either a Slytherine or Griffindor. When she got sorted into Hufflepuff, her origional reaction was that she was confused. She then remembered that no matter what the sorting hat is always correct, so she decided that she would have house spirit no matter where she was placed.
