Hogwarts was very large, very grand and very cool, but Annie was pretty sure she’d be able to find the library in her sleep these days. She hadn’t expected things to be this hard. Maybe she just wasn’t very smart. Was she a bad witch? Antoinette being the headstrong, stubborn girl that she was, meant she was determined not to fall behind.

So, instead of going out exploring the grounds like she so desperately wanted to do, she was here, her finger trailing along the many thousands of books that resided in the Library. It was interesting, peaceful, and lovely and warm in the library, but the quiet stuffiness and constant concentration was making Annie feel ill. She wanted to laugh, and play, and have fun!

But first, homework. If only she could find the book she needed! Where was it, where was it… Aha!!

Annie smiled in relief and reached out to grab Goshawk’s Guide to Herbology when another hand reached out at the same time. Antoinette jumped, not having noticed anyone nearby. She’d been completely lost in her own world. ”Oh!” She whispered, pulling her hand back immediately. ”Sorry.” She blinked. Annie recognised that girl. She’d been at the training event on the grounds. ”Hi,” Annie said, not completely sure if the girl would recognise her.

Adelaide pulled back her hand, shouting a surprised "Oh!" as she saw another hand reaching out to grab the same book. She turned towards the source, finding a girl who she vaguely recognized. She wracked her brain, trying to figure out where she knew this girl from, until it came to her. She was at the Training Jamboree day that had happened on Saturday, Adelaide never talked to her and only briefly caught a glimpse of the girl's face before she had left after the argument had happened. Adelaide didn't particularly blame her. "Sorry, I didn't see anyone else around me. Do you need the book?" She asked, pointing at Goshawk's Guide to Herbology, which was still sitting on the shelf untouched.

"You can have it if you want, I've already finished all my homework and I was just going to do some extra studying, but you're welcome to take it if you need to do homework." In any other situation, Adelaide would probably argue that she needed the book more than the girl, especially if she had homework to do. But truthfully, she really didn't need the book all that much. She was only going to do some extra studying, so she could always study another subject instead. "Also, were you at the Training Jamboree on Saturday? I recognize you from somewhere, unless I'm getting you mixed up with someone else or you have an identical twin sister. I'm Adelaide, by the way."

[font=Corbel Light]A flicker of recognition came across the girl’s face. Phew. She did recognise Annie! That was a relief; Annie wasn’t sure what she would have done if she hadn’t – feign ignorance? Pretend they’d never met? Or bring up that awkward encounter at the Training Jamboree. Annie didn’t like to think back on that day much; despite it’s hopeful beginnings, it had all ended rather badly. Still, at least she’d managed to interact with some animals in the midst of the mayhem.

”If you’re sure that’s okay?” She inquired, not wanting to take over, but really needing the book. ”I’m really struggling with my Herbology homework. You’ve finished already?!” Annie was impressed. ”I wish I had your brains,” she laughed.

”No, no, that was me,” she added, feeling a little sad that they’d met under strange circumstances. ”I wished I’d stayed longer, but it all got a bit out of hand.” Annie lowered her voice and leaned in a little. ”That Cody boy hates me. No idea why, but I try to keep my distance as much as possible.” Annie didn’t like upsetting people, but she wasn’t going to be a pushover. She’d give as good as she got. Realising she had yet to introduce herself, she smiled. ”It’s nice to meet you properly. I’m Antoinette, but everyone just calls me Annie.”

"Of course!" Adelaide encouraged, she grabbed the book from the shelf and held it out for the girl to grab, "You can have it, it's really no big deal." She smiled before blushing slightly at the compliment the girl had given her, "Why, thank you, but I'm sure you're smart too! Just because you struggle with something doesn't mean you aren't smart," An unusual thing for Adelaide to say, given the fact that she reprimands herself if she doesn't get top marks in everything she does. She definitely isn't that nice on herself if she's struggling, but there was no reason to put her high expectations of herself onto this girl. "If you're having trouble with the Herbology homework, I could help you if you want? Only if you want of course." She suggested, smiling gently.

Adelaide hummed, "I suspected it was you, and don't worry about that Cody boy, I'm pretty sure he dislikes everyone. He's quite weird, don't you think?" She laughed, shaking her head at the absurdness of that day. She had only briefly interacted with Cody at the Training Jamboree, but he had immediately creeped her out. The blonde really hoped she didn't run into him ever again. "Anyway, it's nice to meet you Annie! Antoinette is a lovely name though, why don't you use it instead of a nickname?" Perhaps a slightly invasive question, but Adelaide never really was one to think before she spoke. Hopefully Annie wouldn't get offended.
