*This thread takes place just after the sorting of Scarlett Noel after she sits down at the Hufflepuff Table. It was mailed to me via owl and I've put Scarlett's initial thread in the reducio below.

Reducio
Scarlett heard her name that was called and jumped right up out of her seat and ran to the sorting hat. Scarlett was beyond nervous, she was one of those people who they called perfect, but just because she was pretty, did not mean she was full of courage. She knew she was going to be a Hufflepuff just because she would never be a Gryffindor. That made Scarlett mad. On Elaine her older sister's first day she became a Hufflepuff too, but just because she was nervous.

Scarlett's heart was racing. She felt like she was going to be humiliated and all the pupils would laugh at her because of this. Thoughts ran through her mind like they never had before. She felt like her powers were going to go berserk as soon as she heard what house she was in. But the thought of whatever house she was in would be family helped her. She took one last look at all the pupils, and they put the hat on her. Scarlett's head was a bit small for her age so when they put it on her it fell over her eyes and nose. A few of the Slytherins chuckled. Some of the Hufflepuffs looked hopefully at Scarlett, they were hoping to get her because she was pretty. The hat started thinking.

"Hmmm this is very interesting one, Ravenclaw? No, this one has far to much Loyalty. I have got it! HUFFLEPUFF!!!" the hat said at the top of their lungs. Scarlett couldn't have been more ashamed of herself, although her sister was a Hufflepuff too, she wanted to be a Gryffindor, or at least a Ravenclaw. She ran to the Hufflepuff table where her sister was sitting, she sat next to her.

Scarlett Looked at all the faces at the Hufflepuff table, "How will I ever fit in?" she whispered to herself in her beautiful British accent.

Congratulating @Scarlett Noel

Simon had been sitting next to some of the other Hufflepuffs. It was different being already at the table this year to begin his Second Year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and not lined up with the other students, awaiting their sorting. He remembered how nervous he was - and he didn't even understand the house differences. He just knew that some hat somehow determined what your best traits were, and would place you into a certain path there at school.

Had the hat chosen correctly for Simon? Definately. While he had bravery of Gryffindor and the thirst for knowledge of Ravenclaw, he was guided by love and therefore Hufflepuff is where he would truly shine. He was honest, loyal, friendly, determined, and hardworking. He had lots of faith and he cared genuinely about others. Hufflepuff was perfect for Simon.

"We got another one!" he smiled, giving one of those loud (but not obnoxious) sort of whistles you might do at a sporting event. He had done that thus far for all incoming Hufflepuffs and when Scarlett Noel got chosen, he did the same.

He glanced over to see the girl sat down right across from her and Lani Noel who was across and over one smiled to the girl. That's right, they said her name was Noel. Lani seemed happy that her sister had joined the same house but the blonde who just got sorted didn't seem as happy. "Congratulations," he whispered to her from across the table. He knew that some weren't so happy to be in Hufflepuff and sometimes it seemed all the rejects that didn't make it into the other 'prestigious' houses got selected for Hufflepuff but that was quite a false impression. Hufflepuff had traits of all houses. The other houses were limited but Hufflepuffs truly persevered.

“Thank you.” Scarlett said while she smiled. She knew that this was not what she had planned but she also knew having good manners were one of the most important parts of being a lady. She then caught herself staring at Simon. What was she doing? She could not have been crushing on the first boy that talked to her.
All of the sudden the food popped up on the tables everywhere Scarlett looked there was yummy goodness she did not know where to start. Even though Elaine had already experienced all the feasts, it was a surprise to her every time. Scarlett finally decided to have just a tiny bit of each thing. She could always get seconds.
Once she finished her food she starting looking at Simon again. Elaine noticed this time she smiled at her younger sister, then she nudged Scarlett and whispered in her ear “Someone has a crushh.” in a joking voice Scarlett looked at her Lani and smiled. “I do! I really do! It is going to be a problem too, It is going to distract me from my studies, relationships-” “With Simon” Elaine finished for her. “For whoever are going to be my teachers” She corrected her older sister.

Small talk with @Scarlett Noel

The sorting soon ended and the feast began. Most people were glad at the food appearing on the tables but for Simon, he just took his cup of water and took a sip. He never ate very much. Eating to him was just...it was one of the unpleasantness of life. Nothing rarely tasted good to him and it never seemed to actually make his hunger go away. The act of chewing and swallowing...just a burden. Still though, he tried to keep it rather unnoticeable, and he grabbed a few green beans for his plate and a couple pieces of potato. At least it wasn't chicken. Maybe he'd be able to manage a small bit of the beef.

Simon ate, slowly, drinking more water than doing anything else. He let the others around them have their conversations, including Lani Noel and what seemed to be her younger sister. "Are you happy with the sorting hat's decision?" he decided to ask. Scarlett was the only first year Hufflepuff within talking distance to him, and he was curious. Out of any of the houses, Hufflepuff seemed the most unappreciated - but he knew that once the house warmed up to people, they usually were quite prideful to be a badger.

He hoped that he wasn't interrupting the two sisters though and if that were the case, he could take out a book from his bag and begin reading it, or maybe even a notebook and work on a song. Soon the desserts would be coming and that's probably when he'd take an early leave. He couldn't stand sweet tasting things.
