This was a stupid idea. Completely and utterly stupid. Adelaide was never one to get into trouble, that was Eloise's job. So why exactly had she agreed to sneak out of the common room after curfew when Rora had asked her? She had no idea. She was only praying that they weren't going to get caught, because she definitely did not need or want a detention. Adelaide felt silly, sneaking around the silent corridors in her fluffy pajamas (it was incredibly cold in the castle during the winter months, so she needed her warmth) and jumping at the tiniest sound. Every single noise she feared was a teacher or a prefect coming to catch them in the act and give them a detention.

"This is stupid, we are going to get caught. We should just go back before this all goes downhill." She whispered to Rora, her voice trembling slightly. What were they even doing this for? What was the goal? Adelaide was definitely not interested in trying to find any secret passageways in the castle, although she suspected Rora would definitely be interested in something like that. Honestly, she did not know what she was going to do if they ended up getting caught. How on earth was she meant to tell her parents that she had gotten detention only 2 months into her first year? Eloise would love that to happen, she'd never hear the end of her teasing.

She let out a groan, "We really should just go back. I really don't want to get caught." Technically, she could just head back and leave Rora, but she would feel guilty if her friend ended up getting caught. Well, it was Rora's idea, so she kind of would deserve getting caught, but she was also Adelaide's friend and Adelaide wouldn't just leave her friend. So, she was kind of stuck here unless she could convince Rora to head back to the common room.
