Hadashi is curious and studious. He is determined to make his robes change gold, and is well on the way to accomplishing that. In addition, he is determined to show the entire school that the type of wand does not determine your talents.
While he is a bit obsessed with making sure he gets the highest grade one can get in very assignment, he always makes room for leisure time in order to unwind.
Hadashi also has a tendency to "forget" to bring his shoes to certain classes, seemingly at random. This ends up in Hadashi being barefooted in that class. It always happens once a day at least, just like Gym class when he was in muggle school. He is meticulous in his studying and cleanliness, traits taught to him by his parents. While usually has a cool, calm, and calculating personality, Hadashi is easily excited by new things, especially new subjects or new sights.
He rather likes anime and will read manga in his downtime. Hadashi is also a bit of a foodie, and loves trying new types of ramen or sushi. He desperately wants to try foods from other countries and see what other wizarding schools are like.

Born to two muggle-borns, Hadashi lived in both magic and non-magic worlds. Going to muggle school in Kyoto, but always being regaled at night by stories from his parents about the magic world. At an early age, he was a firm believer in yokai, despite the school trying to teach them otherwise.

When he was 5, Hadashi received his first instance of magic. During a cherry blossom festival, he wanted to hold a blossom himself, but couldnt reach. Frustration began to mount. And all of a sudden, a downward gust of wind blew a perfect blossom right into his hands. And more petals all over him.
The gust died as soon as it had come, however.

To his delight and excitement, Hadashi was told that that was magic. And that when he was 7, he would be able to go to Mahoutokoro's day program. And sure enough, one week after he turned 7, Dan found a potted Sakura tree in their living room, and an invitation.

On the day before his 11th birthday, Hadashi was taken by his parents to retrieve supplies. The first was his wand. And his parents took him to the best wandmaker in all of Kyoto.
This... was a bit of a discouraging time for Hadashi. They stayed in the shop for an hour and a half, trying wand after wand, core after core, wood after wood. Nothing would work for him. At the end of it, Hadashi was on the verge of tears, believing that there was a mistake, or that he was defective.
But then, the master wandmaker had a thought. He went into the back for a moment, as Hadashi's parents tried to console him.
The wandmaker returned with a very ornate and intricately designed box. Upon opening it, a Lovely red wand was inside.

Hadashi was not expecting this one to work either, but when he tried it, sure enough, the wand chose him as its user.
And boy did this one make a spectacle of it.

The moment he found out that his robes would change color depending on his magical knowledge and grades, and that his parents would be able to see it reflected in the sakura tree in their house, Hadashi decided immediately that he would make his robes turn gold. Failure was unthinkable.
This drive to succeed was evidently sensed by people of his year, and he was elected as a class representative.

As soon as he was able, Hadashi joined the Dueling Club, and became a key player very quickly.
He consistently gets top marks on his assignments, due to his curiosity, and drive to have golden robes. After his first year, the electives he chose were Meditation and Painting.
