Personality:
Kirsi is an extremely outgoing girl with a relatively poor filter to accompany her rapid thoughts. She tends to just say whatever pops into her mind, occasionally at the expense of others. Quick-witted and playful, she tends to be a highly sarcastic person and enjoys the company of others. While she can initially come off as a bit rude, she usually does not mean to offend other people. She can be rather poor at understanding when saying things might hurt others but is slowly learning to think before she speaks. But getting her to stop speaking is a challenge in itself. Otherwise, she simply enjoys meeting people who aren’t afraid to bend the occasional rule to have fun.

Kirsi was born north of Helsinki as one of a pair of twins. While their parents never told them who was born first, Kirsi’s twin brother Kael would eventually take on the role of a protective older brother. Born into a wizarding family that had remained a pureblood line for many generations, Kirsi also had a brother several years older than her. Her parents were happy to have received the twins but they would remain somewhat absent from the early lives of their children. Much of the early parenting was relegated to family servants or house-elves. While Kirsi had only a vague understanding of her parent’s work, she did know that they were heavily involved in some form of business within the wizarding world.
With her parents gone much of the time, Kirsi relied largely on her twin for entertainment and the two remained extremely close. Their older brother was an anger-filled child with no seemingly productive outlet for his irritation. Openly defiant of his parents, their oldest brother would frequently torment them in their early childhood. A mutual hatred for the man only brought the twins closer as Kirsi was often defended by Kael. Not that it was ever truly effective. After they proved to be magically inclined, however, their eldest brother became more apathetic towards them. A silent agreement that everyone would just keep to themselves.
At the age of nine, Kirsi experienced her first instance of magic. Being born a witch or wizard was almost a requirement for their family so it was a bit of a relief for the girl. While sitting down to enjoy a rare family dinner, Kirsi was startled by Kael who had jumped out from under the table. In the momentary fright, a baked chicken on the table exploded into a mess. Bits of chicken launched all over the table and her parents. Despite not enjoying the sudden coat of chicken, her parents did show considerable pride at their daughter’s display.
Finally being sent off to school became a much-needed escape from the rather affluent but mundane life at home. Immediately, Kirsi’s outgoing nature began to blossom. She quickly was able to gather a small but tight group of friends. Her sarcastic and blunt tendencies did earn her the scorn of some of her classmates but overall Kirsi found new life at Durmstrang.
Her first year was perhaps too heavily focused on socializing and making friends which required her to work significantly harder in her second year to catch up on some of the skills that she was still lacking. Even if their friend groups were not quite the same, Kirsi remained close with her twin brother and spent much of her time following around and pestering him. In that second year she slowly learned a better balance between her studies and socializing. It was still definitely a work in progress but her improvement was noted by her parents enough to avoid any continued disappointment from her parents. A trend she hoped to continue as they moved into their third year.
Summer before their third year, she was more alone than she had experienced in the past. Her twin was away for most of the summer and it left her mostly on her own. As someone who requires constant stimulation, Kirsi found the time exceptionally boring. The return of school was needed more than ever and when it finally arrived the girl could barely contain her excitement. She continued to develop her sphere of friends but carried through on her commitment to better balance her work. Begrudgingly but she remained successful for the most part.
As the year came to its close, Kirsi had finally gained a bit of confidence in her actual abilities. She no longer felt like she was quite playing catch up with those around her. She might not have been the strongest of the class but she no longer felt like a weak link. It was a massive relief to actually be able to spend her summer with her brother Kael. A repeat of the previous summer would have driven her mad. She did not know what their next year of school would hold but she was happy for the break from studying. While she missed being surrounded by her friends, she was able to spend much of the summer developing a love for photography with her brother. But as with all summers, it quickly crept to a close as the fourth year arrived...
