If I registered in first year and wanted to get an ability with a fifth year prerequisite, would I just wait until fifth year to apply for it?

(The 30 day application period after registering is confusing me.)

the thing you have to apply for within 30 days is a race. That includes werewolf, part goblin,part veela, dhampir.

The abilities, on the other hand, you can apply for any time. However, you can only apply for one ability per year, meaning each time your character graduates.

As for your question, yes you would have to wait until your fifth year for a fifth year ability.
