Don't Let Me Go
Just like any other ordinary days for Cash. They got up and done their morning run. Cash is also well aware of the new rule where no student should not be up and about before 6 in the morning without any Professor or Prefects around. So when there was enough sunlight peeking in the sky, Cash started to do their morning regime.
Once Cash felt like done doing their morning run, they took their time while taking the beautiful scenery that the Castle provides in the morning. When Cash reached the courtyard, there was a small and polite hoot of an owl above their head. The green eyes looked up. Cash has never seen the bird before.
It was not Blackjack - the Ironwoods family owl - nor the school owls. The bird circled the courtyard fountain once then dropped an envelope in front of Cash's feet. Once the bird flew away, Cash picked up the envelope. It was a cream-colored envelope that is addressed to them. Cash did not dwell on it for too long.
They pocketed the letter and continued their march towards their dorm to begin today's school activities. Sometimes waking up a bit way early had its downside. Cash tried to stay awake during their morning classes which are a bit hard to do. Their chair mate often time poked the Cuban descendant so they stay awake.
Some gruesome moments later, their morning classes finally ended. Cash walked out of the classroom blearily. Stifling a yawn and hugging their school textbook, Cash suddenly remembered the mysterious letter that they just received this morning. Cash then walked towards one of the empty classrooms to open the letter.
They put down the books on one of the tables and pulled out the letter between the pages of their school textbook. The young Ironwoods flipped the envelope back and forth. The handwritten that was printed in front of the envelope was definitely not their mother's nor Maritza's. Cash dreaded opening the letter.
The last time they received a letter was from their mother. It was a Howler that told them their father went missing on the job last summer two years ago. But Cash brave themselves and finally ripped open the letter. Their eyes followed every line that was written in the letter. The more they read the letter, they felt numb.
It felt like someone dumped a bucket full of ice blocks on them. Cash continued to read the letter and slowly they felt their eyes burn with tears. Their throat clogged up and they felt like suffocated all of sudden. They read and re-read the letter. Cash's mind hasn't caught up with reality. The letter goes like this :

After Cash read that, they felt like their heart is broken into million pieces. No, their heart is shattered beyond repair. Kara promised them that she will always be by their side no matter what. Now, she left Cash the same way their father left them and Cash's mother. All so sudden and Cash was not prepared for that.
The young socialite felt like they wanted to hit or throw something. They felt angry and broken-hearted beyond belief. They then eyed the books that laid on top of the table. Cash picked up the books and throw them one by one against the wall. They have not satisfied with it. It is so easy to flip a table with spells but Cash does it the old fashion way.
They kicked the chairs and flipped the tables while letting out an anguished scream while crying their eyes out. "You lied!"Cash said out loud while kicked a nearby chair. "You said you never leave me but you did!"They scream and flipped another table. Cash did that until all their anguished was out from their system.
In the heap of the moment, the letter that was sent by Kara's mother laid forgotten on the floor. Cash picked up the letter again. With blurred eyes that filled with broken heart tears, Cash sat down on the floor. They felt defeated. "Why did you leave me?"They whimpered out while tears still running down their cheeks and let out a broken sob.

Don't Let Me Go
@Cassandra Ironwoods
It was an entirely ordinary day for Opeila. Breakfast, classes, break, more classes. One of those ordinary days that seemed to happen surprisingly often to the young Slytherin lately, at least compared to her last years. This one was... almost... calm. Ignoring what had happened with Victor and everything at least.
Her mind at ease and already thinking about the classes after lunch, Opeila wandered through a corridor. Many of the others had gone outside to enjoy a bit of sun, that became rarer with the beginning of October. The Highlands were getting colder and often the third year liked to wear scarf and gloves, even inside the castle. The scarf she could even wear in class, which was quite nice. Opeila had also stopped wearing the front parts of her hair tied back, instead she had gotten into braiding her hair, which had grown a lot. The braid was lightly swinging from one side to the other, ending at her waist.
A rumbling noise caused the young girl to freeze in her movement and listen. What had that been? Thunder? Rubbish, the sun was shining. Did something fall down on the floor above her? No, it had come from a room nearby. There, again. As if someone was slamming something against a wall. Opeila, having lived in this castle for two years, knew better than to check on weird noises unarmed, it took her only a moment to get her wand out and point it at the door. Carefully she turned the doorknob with her free left hand and opened the door only a small gap.
What Opeila saw inside the room wasn't at all what she had expected... whatever her expectation had been. Tables and chairs had seemingly been thrown through the room. Thrown over and upside down they were everywhere in the room. And on the ground... a familiar figure, crying. "...Cash?" Opeila hadn't noticed that she held her breath until it left her lungs with a shuddering sigh. Admittedly she didn't know her dormmate too well, but she had only ever seen them as this strong person, a cause of progress and movement. She had seen Cash play Quidditch, she knew they were physically strong too.
Seeing Cash, this always strong person, on the ground like this, devastated and for once fully out of control made Opeila's heart ache. She wanted to pull her housemate into her arms, give them hold and tell them that it would be alright, but that would be entirely inappropriate. Opeila knew that. She had no idea what had happened to Cash and she wouldn't dare to assume the severity of it.
Instead she closed the door and walked around the tables before she stood in a few meters distance, careful to leave the other third year their space. "Hey... Can I- Can I sit?", Opeila asked Cash, pointing to a spot on the ground next to one of the tables that had been knocked over, about a meter away. The young girl had learned enough about trauma and emotions in the last years to know that she would never take the full control over the situation away from the person who was in such a state. Control was all that was left.
