I hope you're doing well, love. I'm saddened that I haven't been able to speak with you often, us being many years apart makes it rare to see you casually. I was hoping to amend that, in particular in relation to your upcoming birthday on the tenth.
As charming as the previous year was, I find that this year I do not look forward to sharing your attention with others. I would like to instead invite you to have tea with me at Madame Puttifoots in Hogsmeade at noon on the ninth (I won't ask that you set aside your actual birthday for me.) I'm hoping to get to actually catch up and enjoy each others' company without distraction. I wanted to invite you over letter so it might be easier for you to decline if you feel the inclination. I will completely understand if that is your choice.
I do have a present for you as well, which I'll send next if you cannot or do not wish to come, but otherwise I'd like to hold on to it so I can see your face when you open it. Apologies if this entire letter comes off as selfish, but I'm intent on following my heart when I choose how to spend my time this year, and the heart is a selfish thing.

Hey Flash, thanks for the letter. I can't remember the last time I written one, to a friend at least, so bare with me.
I'd love to meet up before my birthday though. I missed you a bunch, so a catch up is definitely needed.
What did you mean about not sharing my attent Anyway, I'll keep it short. We'll talk more in Hogsmeade. I don't trust these owls, those beady eyes, so freaky so I just hope this reaches you in time.
