Just the Beginning
Avery was slightly overwhelmed as he began pushing his cart towards the platform where his parents said they were to go. Avery had been nervous for weeks, after receiving the owl telling him he had been accepted to Hogwarts.
His parents were overjoyed by the news but Avery wasn't sure. He knew about magic, was interested in magic, even wanted to be an Auror when he grew up, but he had also heard terrible things happened at Hogwarts. He didn't know what to expect. He swallowed hard, took a deep breath, and carried on toward the platform.
As they arrived at platform 9, his parents stopped him. "Keep your head up boy. " his father said "There is nothing to it one your there. You have nothing to be concerned about. Just be you, and you'll make plenty of friends in no time. "
Avery smiled at this. His dad was always so optimistic. He had been running through all the great things about Hogwarts since Avery had received the owl. Avery hugged his father's waist tight. "Thanks dad, ill miss you. "
As Avery turned around it was his mother's turn to say goodbye. Before she said a word she bent down and wrapped him in a tight hug. "You can do anything you put your mind to Avery. Don't let anyone tell you any different. We'll send lots of owls, you'll hear from us lots, you have nothing to be worried about. You're a very smart boy, you'll be to of your class in no time at all." The smile never wavered from his mother's face but tears welled in her eyes.
Avery blushed returning his mother's hug. "I'm miss you too. I love you very much." With that his parents stood, his father wrapping an arm around his mother and watched as Avery took his very first steps toward his future.
