"Mom, mom, mother, mommy, mum, momma, mam, MOM!!! " Juniper skipped around her mother, nearly tripping on her untied laces. Her mother pointedly ignored her, which Juniper found extremely RUDE! "Moooomm" She said, this time singing the name so her mother had no choice but to answer. Juniper was not good at singing, and she knew it too. The more she sang, the more her mother would HAVE to make it stop. "Maaammmm, Why are you ingoring meeeeee?"
She sang. Her mother grumbled, clearly annoyed by the heat of diagon alley. To be fair, the streets were packed.

"Maaaaammmm, pleaseeee answeeerrrr moiiiiiiiiiiiiiii please! Or I'lllll keeeeeep singinginginging!!!!!" Her mother, her lovely, short mother, looked at her annoying amazing daughter. "Yes, Juniper?" She asked, grouchy.

Juniper opened her mouth to speak, but tripped and swallowed some dirt. Those stupid shoe laces. She hopped back up, grinning from ear to ear, dirt on her face. Her mother sighed trying to grab at her daughter to wipe it away, but she was moving around. She was hyper, and her mother had her hands full with her.

See, that was Juniper's job. If her mom was going to have a day for mother's only, then she had to work hard to earn that special day! And if her mother didn't have her hands full, she would obviously be bored and sad. Juniper swallowed guiltily. When did left for Hogwarts, who would give her mother a hard time? Who would keep her hands full?

Juniper decided to save those thoughts for later as her mother finally caught her arm. She licked her fingers, and wiped at Juniper's face. "Ewww! Mom! No! Stop ittttt!" She pushed away, and her mother sighed, smiling just a little.

"So, anyway, you know how last year on my birthday I wanted a pet and Kelly said she would get me one and she didn't because you said YOU would but then you forgot to, and then for months and months I reminded you but still you kept forgetting but technically you promised me I could get a pet so you owe me one?" She took a breath. Her mother raised an eyebrow. "Did I promise you that?"

Juniper smiled. "Well you never said you wouldn't buy me a pet, which is basically saying yes." She shrugged, grabbing her mother's hand. Her mother was laughing because sometimes Juniper was entertaining.

"I Suppose you're right." Juniper nodded and entered the pet shop, skipping around as her mom went to talk to the store manager.

She wasn't sure what she wanted, not yet, anyway.

She looked at the rats first. "Ah, Yes, the sweetest of the rodents." She examined each and every rat, but none of them called out to her.

She then headed to the cats, but backed away. "Ew, stop licking your bum, weird cat!"

She headed to the frogs. "My favorites! The cleanest, squishiest, cutest of them all! Toads!"

She passed them each, but one caught her eye. It's cage was covered in droppings, but silly Juniper's brain was directed to brownies instead. Yes, it's cage was totally litered with brownies.

"Hello, smexy toad." She said jokingly. "Are you magical? You poop brownies!"

The toad caught a fly. "You're eyes remind me of a very cool actor! Robert Downey Jr!!! Those wide, hot, eyes..."


She pointed to the toad. "MAM! This is the one!"

Her mom wrinkled her nose. "You sure?"

She nodded. "Yup, say hi To Ribbit Browney Jr."
