Dear Darlings,
I write to you with my heart full of sorrow. You were probably nervous already by the time you receive this message, but I still hope that you get it earlier than I expect.
You will be running to Hogwarts without me this time.
And... (fresh teardrop trace) you won't see me at Hogwarts once you're there. And I do not know when we'll see each other next time.
I am fine and well. My family is fine and well. I hope you had a great summer — no less great than I had and I was travelling a lot. We've travelled through a good deal of Russia the muggle way and I have a few years of stories to tell you.
