How Do Classes Work??
I am so confused on the construction of classes... I saw for one class they have, what seems to be, an IRL time for when classes start. But it does not give a time zone.
If classes are scheduled by a certain time, then Im pretty SOL'd from playing the game. I work two IRL jobs, and can't be on a schedule.
It would be easier if there was a post for the lesson, according to curriculum. But if that is the case, then that would be just fine.

How Do Classes Work??
Hello @Jade Noir! Don't worry about that: classes are actually completely optional from an OOC perspective. The times given are just a part of the in-character school schedule. You can roleplay in the class boards at any time (with prudence, no god-moding the professors or saying something drastic happened without their permission). As for doing the lessons themselves, those will unlock for you, and can be done at any time. Homework on HiO is entirely optional. When it unlocks, it'll appear under the dropdown you see when you hover over your portrait in the upper-right, under "report card", like this:
When those unlock, you'll see each of the different "lectures" you can do. You read a post from the teacher about how class went, then answer a series of questions afterwards to test your understanding of the subject. Again, classes/homework are totally optional! Though you earn spells and House points by doing them

Hey, I have this question too, and I want to kind of add on to it.
How do you actually complete the classes? Do you just write that RP paragraph thingy or do you have to do something else in order to complete it? And also, if you complete it, will you automatically have that spell in your profile, or will you have to add it to your encyclopedia?

How Do Classes Work??
@Ebony Vetra, you complete the classes by filling out your homework and submitting it to be graded. Some lessons have RP questions where you will take on the role of someone using the spell taught in the lesson, others will have you research the spell using various sources (usually the Harry Potter wikipedia). Once your homework has been graded, you will earn House Points (HP) and you can then update your trunk to include your new spell(s). Otherwise, upon graduation, you automatically learn all of the spells for the year you just completed. You can find the list of spells learned in the encyclopedia update form.
