Lathan stood on Platform 9 3/4 next to his mother, Andalusia. His trunk rested next to him as his head shifted from left to right taking in the sight of the crowd, full of witches, wizards, squibs, and muggles alike, all looking to send various member of their respectful families off to one of the most prestigious institutions of magic in the world!
Grabbing his mother's robes, Lathan asked, "Mother, is it generally this crowded on this platform!?"
"Oh yes, of course, dear." Andalusia smiled at her son, taking his hand to prevent further tugging at her garments, "This is a very exciting time for many people as there are always a great host of children, like yourself, who are heading into their First Year at Hogwarts. I'll be that they're all excited just like you have been!"
"Moooooooom," Lathan said, embarrassed, "I get it. That's enough, please?"
"Oh, don't overreact." Andalusia smiled, "I doubt work all of the excitement that anyone would take the time to stop over and chitchat about random conversing that we are doing, son."
"You never know, Mom." the boy sighed, "People are very weird these days."
"You're not wrong dear," Andalusia smiled, "However, we are magical folk. Do you really think we have room to call anyone else 'weird?'"
"True as that may be, Mother," Lathan said, laughing, "my point absolutely stands!"
