Something along the lines of,"Oops"
taeyeon could've sworn her life flashed before her eyes and she slowly sinks down into her seat: embarrassed.
Rewinding the time to a little before the professor walked into the class , taeyeon opened the grand door to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, eager to see what awaits for her in her first day of Hogwarts. She had spent the day before roaming everywhere, trying to memorize her ways through and luckily, she memorized her way to this class, even if she maybe had gotten lost along the way.
She marveled at the classroom, dark and dim yet every wood was finely sculptured with precise details and dedication. however she didn't get that much time as she was suddenly pushed into the class by rushed students swarming their way to enter. getting the notice that class is about to start, she squeezed her way through the amass crowd, easily slipping into an empty seat by the window.
Chatters fill the air in a lively manner and she muses to herself, all the while looking outside to see hawks swirling and diving gracefully through the sky.
" I wonder if that's going to be me in the future...."
Before she could finish her thoughts, the professor swooshed in and all the doors slammed closed, thumping sounds echoed loudly across the vast class, scaring taeyeon. She flinched and immediately draws her attention to the professor standing in the middle of the class, behind a podium.
Dear lord.
she could already feel a pinch of dread at the bottom of her stomach, unsure of what's going to happen. The whispers and excited chats that once filled the air now died down on its own. Everyone focused their attention on the professor and taeyeon swore the air itself turned tense.
"welcome," the professor introduced, commanding everyone's attention," no time for introductions. those are wastes. Instead show me what you can do and show me you have control. You! Yes you! stand up and cast periculum."
A boy near her age stood up in front of the class, drawing out his wand. seconds pass as he narrow his eyes, concentrating," Periculum."
Red sparks shot out of his wand and into the open space of the ceilings. Taeyeon stared in awe. Quite frankly, this is her first time seeing magic and not so long ago finding out that she's a wizard.
The professor nodded in acknowledgement, signaling the boy to sit down. after he did so, the professor's eyes darted across the room of fidgeting students until his eyes landed upon taeyeon.
"You."
Her heart jumped out of her chest and blood began to pound against her head.
"M-Me?"
Of course, even though she merely squeaked out the words, her body responded lighting quick, shooting out of her seat. She could feel the gaze of her peers on her, constantly being watched.
"Preform a knockback jinx against this ghost."
the professor released a box and dark swirls of aura materialized before the class's eyes. taeyeon stumbled to find her wand within her robe however when she did, she gripped it ferociously in her right hand, gulping the fear down her throat.
"... f-flip...!"
taeyeon started the spell and was about to finish until the ghost unexpectedly hurled itself to her in a rapid speed. It was as if time froze itself; she closes her eyes and her scream was caught in her throat. The student could only watched what was about to happen next. before anyone could comprehend and before the ghost could reach her, her wand started to glow brightly, illuminating the room into a blinding light.
the concentration of her magic and her fear fused together to preform a rather strong knockback jinx. as her wand dimmed its brightness and taeyeon opened her eyes, all she could feel was horror and embarrassment. The class was in dismay'; desks were flown everywhere, her peers were lying on the ground from the spell, the ghost was successfully held back, the girls were screaming and whining about their hair being ruined, and the professor's cold gaze was fixed upon her.
dear lord.
taeyeon could've sworn her life flashed before her eyes and she slowly sinks down into her seat: embarrassed. She rests her head against her hands supported by her desk since literally her desk and her chair were the only things not flown away.
this first day of hers was already starting out to be crappy. And she was convinced her professor was not too happy about his hair frayed and messed up into an afro.

Maeve watched the nervous girl next to her struggle to cast flipendo. When the girl sat down, Maeve scooted closer to her.
"If you try and get the word out too qui-quickly, you'll never get it to work. Slow down. Make it co-count." She said softly. Raising her hand, she turned to Professor Scheinberg. "May I try?" She asked.
"Please do." The professor replied curtly.
Maeve stood up and faced the ghost. "Fli-flipendo!" She said boldly. Even though she stuttered, the spell still came out alright and knocked into the ghost.
Maeve sat down and smiled at the girl. "See, just like that! I'm Maeve, by the way. Maeve Turner. M-maybe we'll be friends?"
Turning to her book, Maeve read the passage they were going over and sighed. She had read this book a million times, and this was, quite possibly, the most boring passage in the entire book. It was long, and slow, and was kind of just an introduction to the class. Which Maeve didn't need. She had been practicing magic since she was younger, with a stick shaped like a wand. Maeve had never cast actually spells with the stick, of course, but she had learned technique. Maybe her prestigious upbringing would help her at Hogwarts after all.

Norman had been at Hogwarts for a while but still hadn't pulled his first prank. He remembered his book full of magical pranks. "For you first years, don't fret. We have many simple tricks for you as well. One of the first spells you will learn to cast will be Flipendo, the knockback jinx. You'll most likely face a ghost, but they are a boring and no fun at all. But there is a way to make this simple, straightforward spell into a hilarious joke and laughable experience. The secret is as follows: Perform the wand movement as if in a mirror. Instead of just knocking back the ghost, everyone in the room will also be knocked into the wall. Mandatory Disclaimer from Hogwarts: Please do not perform in class. We do not want to overload the infirmary."
Norman smiled as he stepped up to face the ghost. "Flipendo!" Everyone was knocked into the wall. Mission Accomplished. Or so he thought. The professor looked at him, dead in his eyes. "Give. Me. The. Book. Now." A deathly silence filled the room. "I left it in my dormitory."
"Very well. Turn it over to your head of house before we meet again, I will know if you haven't."
Be turned his back to the teacher as he went to his seat. He smiled because he guessed that it had happened in the past, so he had sprung for the self-retrieving copy. If confiscated, it would return to your possession withing ten hours.
