A wand is a wand

Corey and Ray were shopping separately for their magic stuff due to conflicting schedules. Her mother took her around Diagon Alley, and she carried all her books inside the cauldron she cradled in both hands. Her mum opened the door to the wand shop for her, and the young witch was taken aback. It just looked like a two-story building full of boxes, but there were a few other students around testing wands. She could tell that each one was unique from the doorway! Mr. Ollivander was busy, so she peered into an open box left by a negligent 11-year-old. It was pink-tinted and looked swishy! She put the lid back on and looked back to her mother, who was leaning against the wall and gesturing to the old wandkeeper.
Ollivander approached her, announcing something or other about finding a wand for her and how he remembers her mother's wand, but she wasn't listening. There were so many boxes it was a wonder each kid didn't take hours to find a wand. She supposed that was Ollivander's job, but even so, how does he keep the straight? She dragged her focus back to the man as he finished "... so you and your twin need wands! Will Ray be coming in today?" Ah, always with her twin. She didn't mind, but she wanted to get on to testing the wands! "Not today, but soon. Conflicting schedules. So, Mr. Ollivander, how do I know what wand will be mine?"
"Ah, simple trial and error, but we'll find it soon enough!" he explained as he pulled down a box and gave it to her, but immediately whisked it away. He grabbed a second box to replace it, took the wand from it, and handed the wand to her. He said it was cedar and dragon heartstring, but Corey didn't know the significance so she just waved it. A spark flew sadly from the tip and was smothered by the packing in the box.
It fought her, so she put it back in the box. At the same time, Ollivander came to the same conclusion and told her "Let's try something else." She glowed with the knowledge that she'd correctly determined her incompatibility with the wand! He pulled out another wand, giving another spiel about its properties and what that means for the user. "Blah blah steadfast souls!" ooh, that's a good quality to have. Corey took it gratefully and noticed it was much less bendy, and longer, than the other. Maybe that's what he means- like the wand, she won't bend for nothing. That didn't really sound like her though, and true to form, when she waved it, nothing at all happened. "Not this one, huh?" she sighed, handing it back.
"Yes, I must agree." the wandmaker nodded, deep in thought as he disappeared behind a shelf of wands. She busied herself examining (but not touching) the wand boxes on the shelf closest to her until he returned. "26.2cm larch wood and unicorn hair, inflexible with healing properties." he narrated, holding out the wand in its box. "Perfect for someone with unjustified anxieties." Hey! Corey grabbed the wand resentfully and rapped it against the table. Ollivander seemed to disapprove of her roughness, but nodded. "It's a fit!" he declared, and indeed Corey noticed it faintly glowing. "Well that's not a subtle sign it's mine."[/b] she muttered. "Thank you Mr. Ollivander, I'll take good care of it." She payed him and gave another glance around the room "This place is fascinating- do you hire many employees?" (I... don't know the answer, but I doubt it. Anyway, she leaves now)
