Happy Birthday Kath Solo

It's been a normal day for Katherine, For anyone it really was just another normal day. Only Katherine knew about it being her birthday today, No one else knows about it, not that Katherine doesn't want to tell anyone it's just no one has asked. Who would really care about her birthday, it's not like she had made a ton of friends.

It was only her, she always cared for herself when no one did. She loved herself when no one did, She had learned to rely on herself. Everyone just comes and goes but she is still the same, Katherine had just finished her last lesson and had headed to the owlery. A part of her was waiting for at least a letter from home, Or maybe no one has remembered.

She had paced till she went inside the owlery, taking her breath. Her eyes immediately darted around for any view of her family owl, if you looked really close you could find a small smile on Katherine’s lips. Waiting eagerly to find that owl, She had searched everywhere and with every step she took, her lips were to drop into an emotionless expression.

Katherine had looked for that damn owl for about an hour and a half, till she stood straight in the middle of the owlery, she let out a small scoff and looked down at her feet. Then back up to the sky bursting out a laugh that now has turned to a cry, A cry that hurt her. Not even a simple letter that contained 2 words coming from home.

Was this another lesson her father was giving her? Katherine had one tear coming down and then a continuous stream coming after. She couldn't keep it in anymore, she just wanted to be comforted even though she had never been. Was it too much for her parents to wish her a happy birthday?

Katherine didn't know when she had dropped to the floor, She just had both her palms covering her eyes. Teardrop after teardrop fell onto her palms, Her loneliness had become unbearable. But she can't control it, She was raised like this and loneliness had always welcomed her with open arms.

Watching other people be happy was intolerable for Katherine, was a part of her jealous ? or did she just despise them for living a better life than she was? Who knows, even she doesn't know the answer to her own question. She couldn't remember the last time her parents had wished her a happy birthday or got her a gift nor a cake.

She hoped that maybe she could at least be happy on this date every year. But I guess that was too much to ask for, she was in a never-ending cycle of darkness. Her father took everything she loved, everything she cared about. constantly demanding more of her and calling her weak, She has no choice but to oblige to his demands.

Katherine had let out everything she had pent up till she had gone numb, She didn't care about the time or anything that was happening, she had wiped her tears away and adjusted her hair in a way where her eyes didn’t show that she had cried and headed back to sleep and get this day over with.
