Quiet time? I think not.
Mei needed some quiet time. Some alone time? Reading time maybe? She just wanted to be by herself. Even if it was only five seconds. Mei walked slowly through the halls passing by other students of varying ages. She walked outside on her way to the Great Lake. One of her favorite places to be. She continued to walk about slowly trying to take as much time as she possibly could.
She had made it to the finish line also known as her destination. She sat down on the gorgeous emerald green grass. Mei removed her shoes and socks and dipped her toes into the cool water of the shallows. She opened her book and began reading. She looked up every now and then noticing people walking by. Eventually she became absorbed in her book. Drawn into her own little world. This often happened a lot. Mainly whenever she was reading a good book. Which was all of the time. In fact she became oblivious to her surroundings all together. So oblivious that she didn't catch a glimpse of the person that was walking towards her. Or catch out the fact that an insect had crawled up her shoulder and into her hair.
