• Interacting with @Thomas Baines & @Rosie Parker •The scent of a warm cup of tea permeated the air of the classroom. Sylvie O'Niell sat at one of the many circular, clothed tables available, a cup of tea cooling in front of her as she enjoyed a quiet moment to herself. She was expecting two of her friends to join her here shortly, as she had liked to share what she'd learned in class. "Learned" being a strong word. Putting on a show was likely the better way of phrasing the hideous brutalization of divination that would occur in only a matter of moments. Still, one of the many books provided in the classroom layout on the table for study. Though her comprehension of the art of divination was quite loose, she enjoyed the class a fair amount. She found gazing into a ball of crystal to peer at things she didn't understand incredibly fascinating. What would a witch be without her scrying ball, after all? And god forbid she doesn't know how to use it properly. Simply embarrassing, that would be. But Sylvie was getting there, she was sure of it. And today, she'd show her closest friends just how close she was!
Her fingernails tapped the porcelain cup lightly, looking up every once in a while to see if anyone walked through the door, growing ever impatient as usual.

Arriving first to see a certain Gryffindor's fortune-telling was Thomas, looking around cautiously as if to see if anyone had seen him enter. Admittedly, the Ravenclaw held a degree of skepticism when it came to the art of Divination, and he fervently claimed that he had signed up for the class merely to 'prove that it was all hogwash.' However, Tom was one of the countless people around the world who were immensely curious about the future, and considering how many impossibilities became possible when he first arrived at Hogwarts, there was a stubbornly optimistic part of him that indulged in the quiet act of belief.
Naturally, though, the young wizard would hardly let anyone know his true thoughts on the matter. Obstinate and aggravated by the fact that Divination as a whole currently eluded him with the methods taught thus far, Thomas was sure to project his doubt outwards to generally make everyone around him miserable. It was his favorite thing to do, after all. "Oh hi, Sylvie. See anything for the future in there other than fog? I mean, we're in Scotland, so maybe it's just calibrated to be a weather forecast." His typical arrogant smirk was plain as day, and naturally, his good friend would be rather familiar with his bravado (false or otherwise).
"I would've dragged Callie and Elias here, but Callie is apparently occupied with something, and Elias is too busy being a dumb stupid idiot, so... You know how that goes." In truth, Thomas didn't actually reach out to his nemesis, Elias Weare, but Sylvie didn't have to know.

Rosie had no idea what Sylvie was really doing, but it sounded exciting!
The young Hufflepuff wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, and she was also incredibly easily entertained. Most would call this a flaw, but Rosie thought it was quite the redeeming quality. When Sylvie had informed her she had learned something knew from her Divination class, Rosie, of course, was very interested to see! She didn't choose the class herself, so she was looking forward to any sort of new learning experience. Plus, since she didn't share a year with the two younger Hogwarts students, this might've been new material entirely! Who could pass up an opportunity like this?
A few minutes after Thomas had arrived, Rosie arrived fashionably late. Moving some curly locks out of her eyes, the girl flashed an apologetic grin. "Sorry! Got caught up in class, hope you two haven't been waiting long." With these two in particular, aside from being (hopefully) a friend, she was also their tutor from time to time! Well, most of the time. Sometimes Thomas knew a little more than her, and it was quite embarrassing. But alas, she tried her best anyway. It was good to see these two anyway! It was weird knowing that they were already third years. Oh, how the time passed... Anyway! Maybe Phaedra would be into this sorta thing? She was... Cool and smart and curious, right? "So! What are you showing us today?"

Ah, finally! A familiar young lad walked through the doors of the classroom after a short while. Thomas and Sylvie shared this class, but as far as the Gryffindor was aware, she was the only one who really seemed to love the class and its subjects. Thomas made it very clear he didn't believe in the art of divination; perhaps he believed it to be smoke and mirrors, as some do?
Smoke and mirrors could be fun, though, indeed...
"Oh, shush!" She put down her teacup and hovered her hands over the crystal ball on the table to "cover its ears" so to speak. "You know that's not how it works, anyway." The girl moved over a seating pouf and pat the one next to her. The table was small and really only built for two, but with the addition of the older girl, Rosie, who was to join them... She wanted to make room! "It's a shame, though, that Callie couldn't join. She loves this classroom." Only a tad late, even though Sylvie was never one to be punctual herself, a mop of curly hair entered the space."Oh hi, Sylvie. See anything for the future in there other than fog? I mean, we're in Scotland, so maybe it's just calibrated to be a weather forecast."
"Not long at all! Take a seat." Sylvie smiled up at the girl. "I actually had something other than the crystal ball to try- I mean. Demonstrate. Today." Nice save. She scrambled from her seat and got up to get more tea, which had been brewing on another table. Placing some cute little teacups in front of her peers, she poured them a nice cup of tea! "Tea reading!""Sorry! Got caught up in class, hope you two haven't been waiting long."

Sitting down where he was told, Thomas grinned. "I don't really know that this stuff works at all, I'll have you know," came his retort, largely in jest. The boy nodded in acknowledgment that it was a loss that Callie couldn't be there, such was true after all. He kept any remaining complaints about Divination quiet as soon as Rosie entered the room."Oh, shush! You know that's not how it works, anyway."
"S'fine, I assume, we haven't started doing anything in particular," Thomas answered, offering Rosie some semblance of a genuine, welcoming smile. Since the expression was so rare, the Ravenclaw looked more constipated than anything else, but such was the reality of the world sometimes."Sorry! Got caught up in class, hope you two haven't been waiting long."
A demonstration of tea reading, hm? That would certainly be of interest. Should his Gryffindor friend reveal herself as a true clairvoyant, it'd prove to be an incredibly worthwhile skill considering his interest in investigating Hogwarts. Perhaps Sylvie was a gifted seer, a prophet... Perhaps, more likely at least, she would be doing a whole lot of guesswork and improvisation. Not that Thomas minded going along with these things, especially if it seemed like Rosie believed it. The older Hufflepuff was nice, almost too nice, but the fact that she was gullible more than made up for it."I actually had something other than the crystal ball to try- I mean. Demonstrate. Today... Tea reading!"
"Tea reading is... Well, something. It's called, uhm... Tessomancy, right?" Thomas offered, acting as if he didn't eagerly absorb every drop of information the Divination professor provided in class like an excitable sponge. His tone was aloof, uninterested, but he was far from a master of poise and the leg bouncing up and down under the table was a clear sign of excitement. Some of the intricacies of tessomancy eluded him... Quite frankly, all of them did if he was being honest, so the thought that Sylvie might've actually managed to crack the code was an intriguing one.
"How does it work?"

Rosie smiled back to Thomas she walked in, glancing down at Sylvie when she began to explain what she would be doing. Again, since Rosie had not taken Divination, she was fully prepared to be fully unaware of what Sylvie would be showing them today, which was exciting! Right? Right... Her other friends, however, were quite into the class. But none of them had ever mentioned something like this! She wasn't even considering the fact that Sylvie was definitely messing with her. Besides, Thomas seemed equally as curious about the whole thing. "Tea reading, huh? I don't think I've ever heard of that, I'm excited." She beamed.
After walking into the room, Rosie took a seat next to the younger Ravenclaw, lightly drumming her fingers on her legs in anticipation. When she was going to ask how it worked, Thomas had beat her to it, so she just nodded in agreement. "I'm looking forward to it, I think I've seen some people do fortune stuff on the street, but never here." Granted, most of those fortune telling stands were scams. Rosie thought it was very interesting, and not wanting to disappoint her excited daughter, her dads probably paid into the idea. Awkward. At least it wasn't her money! Maybe she could learn how and tell Reid's fortune. She thought it would be a little funny...

“The people telling fortunes on the street have absolutely nothing on me, Rosie. It's all a bunch of wool being pulled over your eyes! I’m top of my class. I guarantee you I’ll make this worth your while.” Sylvie tipped an invisible hat and took a bow, turning on the charm. She was, in fact, not top of her class. And the performance was not so much for Thomas, despite the stupid wink she gave him, but for her Fifth Year friend who didn’t know her as well. She always had a flair for the dramatic. Thomas would know that- in her muggle school, the stage simply couldn’t get enough of her theatrical personality. Or so she liked to think. Still, this ostentatious display was nothing new for the girl. She snagged some sugar cubes off of the other table, placing them down in front of her guests before twirling back into her seat. She waved a hand towards each of their cups, inviting them to drink. “Enjoy! But leave a little bit of tea in your cup before you’ve finished.” She dropped a cube or two in her cup before stirring with a little spoon.
After a few moments of quiet sipping, she looked up. “So, you’d never taken this class before, Rosie? Why didn’t you? It seems like it would be totally interested in.”

Rolling his eyes at the theatrical display of competence, Thomas said nothing in reply to what Sylvie proclaimed. He knew she was not at the top of her class (of course, neither was he, his studies had been lacking ever since the start of the third year), but figured that there were more important things than accuracy. This would be interesting. The young wizard took a sip of his tea and sighed contentedly. Even if the Gryffindor was a complete and utter liar, she certainly had a way of steeping the beverage at just the right temperature for just the right time. Maybe it was luck, or maybe it was skill, Thomas didn't particularly care to know the difference.
"Thanks, by the way." The boy was grateful for the small dosage of caffeine in the cup. It was no Monster Energy, but unfortunately, Hogwarts had a grudge against muggle products even if they were infinitely superior (and chock full of preservatives). Perhaps there was a potion that would provide wakefulness that could surpass that of a Red Bull, but until then he would simply have to cope... The only concoction that came to mind was the Wideye Potion... But that probably didn't work for traditional sleep deprivation, at least that wasn't its intended usage.“Enjoy! But leave a little bit of tea in your cup before you’ve finished.”
Yawning and rubbing his eyes, his gaze drifted to Rosie, awaiting her answer to Sylvie's question expectantly. Admittedly, Thomas had no idea why anyone would willingly choose an elective that wasn't Divination. The ability to forsee the future, that had far too much potential to pass up. Besides, he had no care for magical creatures, and now that Flying was an elective rather than required curriculum Thomas was more than happy to drop the class. At last, his fear of heights wouldn't have to be addressed.

"Roger that!" Rosie mused, taking a sip of her tea before setting it down beside her, raising her head again to the performing Gryffindor. Even if Sylvie clearly wasn't at the top of her class, or didn't really know what she was doing, Rosie was blissfully unaware of the deceiving. There was no reason not to have faith in her friend, and she was quite excited to see what Sylvie had come to show her and Thomas. Especially when Sylvie seemed so happy to share it with them!
She paused at the question, pondering it for a moment. Why didn't she take the class? Clearly, she was very interested in the subject. Yet the girl had taken Care for Magical Creatures instead. They were both interesting, honestly. Rosie had a hard time picking which one she was going to do. She would've taken both, if she could. Maybe she could've? Who knows. Too late to ponder that now. So, to answer Sylvie, Rosie shrugged. "I dunno! At the time, I wanted to do Care for Magical Creatures more, I guess. Didn't mean I wasn't interested. Honestly, if it was possible, I would've taken them both at once. But I think it would've taken up too much class time."
"I was considering picking up on it, though, there's just so many interesting classes these days, I find it hard to pick. Especially with flying as an elective now.." She paused, before shaking her head. "I apologize, I'm babbling. I came here so you could show me stuff!" Rosie lightly drummed her hands on her legs.

• Interacting with @Thomas Baines & @Rosie Parker •"Ahh, that makes sense. I'm thinking about taking up more classes, but... Not sure! I still can't steer a broom..." She sipped her tea eagerly. Though these types of readings were usually calming for people... Relaxing, even with the tea and whatnot involved. Sylvie was never truly relaxed. Her mind buzzed with all of the different possibilities that could come from each of their little teacups. What did the leaves have to say? How would what they said be interpreted?"I was considering picking up on it, though, there's just so many interesting classes these days, I find it hard to pick. Especially with flying as an elective now.."
"Yeah, no problem! I'm just happy we could all hang out. Everyone's so busy nowadays. I know we're in the same classes and all, but it's one of those things where I've been so focused on school lately that outside of downtime, I rarely get to see people anymore. Besides my housemates. Kinda. It must be really nice having Elias and Callie in your house! I always seem to miss them after class. Talulah and I don't really talk anymore, anyway. Unfortunately." Sylvie babbled on as she usually did, forcing a Wide Smile to punctuate her sentence. It seemed she was a little lonely in her house, but she'd never come out and say it."Thanks, by the way."
Clearing her throat and tucking her hair behind her ear, she took another sip of tea. Well, more a swig than a sip, careful not to drink all of it before stopping with a bit more than a teaspoon left in her cup. "Anyways! Sorry about that, I've had a lot of sugar today, haha!!" HAHA.
"Done sipping??" It wouldn't be a surprise if they weren't. She'd chugged her tea to hide her flush and didn't mind waiting for them.
