I was wondering if I could make up household spells that my character won't be using or learning obviously, and without naming them. The specific context I'm looking to do this in is this: The house is very hot this day and being a magical family they wouldn't have fans or AC. Surely they would fix this with magic, but I don't know what exactly that spell would do or what it would be called. So I make up that this spell makes rooms a comfortable temperature. My character doesn't know what it's called or the incantation but she knows what it does and asks her mother to perform it. Can I do that?

Great question! We actually have lore on household spells that could be used at home, however, nothing in greater detail. While there are some spells that we do make up for certain purposes, we tend to stick as closely to HP canon lore. So if there aren't a lot of spells done by the great almighty JKR, then we wouldn't have them ourselves.
