The Bear Witch Project
It had been a long week. Her flower crown event had gone well, although it had turned into a professor gossip session the end, due to the insufferable charm of one Sebastián Cazarez, who Sorrel was inclined to send off with her friend Rosemary G. Ethel, and then ignore for the rest of eternity. Or at least until he learned to act like an adult, and didn't feel the overwhelming need to flirt with every two legged thing with a decent sized chest. At least he seemed to stutter around Rosemary. The master of potions seemed to the only one that could keep the Spaniard sane, which made Sorrel even more grateful for her Italian friend.
Besides the Spaniard and Rosemary, another professor had approached Sorrel's little stand. Leonie Scheinberg, the new Defense Against the Dark arts professor had appeared to watch the festivities. Something about the strange woman made Sorrel's heart flutter. There was just something about the woman that drew Sorrel towards her instantly. Whether it was the way she carried herself, or the mysterious scar on her face, Sorrel wanted to know more about the woman.
Then the woman came to Sorrel's greenhouse, and declared that her plant was dying. She had asked Sorrel to fix it, and then, when Sorrel told her what was wrong, the woman stormed out. It was confusing, to say the least. But it only made Sorrel more interested in talking to the strange blonde haired German.
She hadn't a reason to talk to the woman, but the Blossomfest Dance was coming up. And Sorrel really didn't want to go on her own, or spend the night locked in her greenhouse with only plants to keep her company. But she didn't feel like asking the woman to the dance, not yet anyways. She didn't have any way to do so without making a fool out of herself, and Sorrel figured that running into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, throwing a plant at Leonie wouldn't be a stellar way to invite her to the ball.
Sorrel needed a way to get close to Leonie, and there was only one person in the castle Sorrel dared confide in. Professor Yornikovych, fellow animagus and well-known mentor of Leonie. Sergei and Sorrel had barely talked, but there was a trustworthy air around the older man. He reminded Sorrel of her own father, although she would never voice that out loud. Even though he was 20 years her senior, the seasoned Transfiguration professor was able to pack a punch. Sorrel had no doubts about that.
Dirt stained robes billowing behind her, and hair piled into a messy bun, the Professor of Herbology stalked through the halls of Hogwarts, aware of the glances of students. Most of them seemed shocked that the woman was out of her greenhouse, and walking through Hogwarts. The other students were looking at her bird, having not taken Herbology with Sorrel. They had taken it with Edwina, then no longer taken classes, so the sight of a new professor with a bright green bird drew the eyes of older pupils. Rhys basked in the attention, going far enough as to fly through the halls ahead of Sorrel, cawing in delight at the expressions on the children's faces.
Another day Sorrel would of flown along side the bird, but now was not the day. When she reached the transfiguration classroom, a stream of first years was steadily heading out the door to the empty classroom. The man she had came to visit was at the desk, staring at a pile of papers.
With a knock, Sorrel entered the classroom. "Sergei." She greeted, than flushed. Was she allowed to call the man, Sergei? Or did she need to call him Professor Yornikovych? Sorrel had never really understood the titles of Hogwarts, and the way she needed to address her colleagues, in her few months of being a teacher in Edwina's place. Face flushing even brighter, as she realized how absurd this whole conversation was going to be, the little bird faced the old bear.
"I have a question." The woman said, rather sheepishly, sitting down on top of one of the many desks in the classroom. Never one for formality, Sorrel clasped her hands together, afraid to carry on.
Finally, she cleared her throat, "It's um, about um, Leonie.." she trailed off, unable to continue, due to extreme awkwardness and embarrassment.

The Bear Witch Project
No one really came through the doors of his classroom besides students and perhaps a Professor or two, but the latter came rarely. But what was even more rare was to see Sorrel Wright come through his door, willingly. This was the Herbology professor he was talking about, the one that he only ever seemed to see in her greenhouse. So whatever this was for, it had his interest piqued and away from his lesson planning.
The name mentioned didn't throw him off, rather he thought then he should perhaps return the same casualness as she came up to him. "Sorrel." the older man nodded. He set his quill down and arched his brow, it was about Leonie? What had she done now? He did not feel like a father to the German, but he often looked out for her well being anyway. Hopefully she did not set anything on fire in the greenhouse or perhaps cast some curse on the Herbology Professor.
The Bulgarian cleared his throat, "Whatever damage she has done, I will fix it. Or perhaps she has said something? She does not always mean what she says." That last part was quite the lie, he knew Leonie to be blunt and if anything - a little unbecoming sometimes. But he was born in a different generation as opposed to the rest of them, he could be out of touch with the sensitivity of it all. He hated to jump to conclusions, yet he assumed that Sorrel's feelings weren't as hard proofed as his German student's.
