Mysterious Maze Group 2
Late Evening - Aug 10th
After the students had so graciously helped destroy part of the school grounds before leaving for summer vacation, Eliseo had set to work preparing a bit of a surprise for those students who would return over the summer. Taking up a large piece of the grounds, there was now a looming hedge maze just begging for the passing and curious student to wander into its depths.
The maze would be open in the early evening for students to try their hand at navigating their way through the labyrinth. The somewhat strange Groundskeeper was quite curious to see how quickly the students could meander their way to freedom but made sure to work a few surprises in the dark depths of the maze.
The lowering sunlight allowed the heat of the day to relent and the excessive height of the hedges further cooled the air within the labyrinth. It had been quite challenging to erect the massive structure but Eliseo believed its winding corridors would allow the students to truly find themselves...or become inexplicably lost and terrified.
While the interior of the maze was still shrouded in mystery, the entrance offered its welcome. In the wall of dark green hedges were three large openings. Three different entrances into the maze would offer slightly different journeys for the travelers. But once inside, there was no telling what twists and turns would be waiting. An unnatural fog sat around the maze further obscuring the depth in which the students would be able to peer once inside.
Each maw of the maze was ready to claim its victims, but Eliseo had faith in the students to find their way. In his final walk through the maze, he had dropped a particularly scrumptious-looking cupcake and was rather disappointed that it was now lost in the maze. But perhaps some noble student would locate it and be able to rescue it before it was lost forever. Or perhaps there would be students lost in the maze forever...Probably not as that would reflect poorly on the future of Eliseo’s employment but he assumed that some students may find themselves more interested in the deadends.
But now, divided into small groups. It was up to the students to decide what they would do. Would they stick together? Would they scurry off on their own? Only time would tell. Their firs choice was simple. They needed to choose which of the three entrances they would be venturing into. The Northern and Southern entrances both seemed to weave to the left while the center entrance quickly turned to the right. Any of the entrances could get them through but each held different bits of absurdity within the ominous fog.
Navigation Options
All participants can choose to enter one of these entrances:
1. The Northern Entrance - It has a strange smell of watermelon lingering in the air...
2. The Middle Entrance - There is a note pressed against the side of the entrance reading 'Are you sure?'
3. The Southern Entrance- On the ground just in front sits an empty bucket.
How to Navigate the Maze
1. Each round you can choose an available direction to travel or to take a different action.
2. Each moderation will list the available directions for each student.
3. You can choose to stay as a group or wander off on your own. But if you are alone...beware of the orange.
4. Depending on the paths chosen, you may encounter challenges or changes within the maze.
5. Stats will be used in this tread and thus you will need to ensure they are in your trunk.
6. There will be a moderation post at least once a week. Quicker moderations will be done if all active participants have replied.
7. If a participant misses two weeks of moderation, it will be assumed they decided to take a nap and will be removed from the maze for their safety!
8. As always...clothing will be required in this thread!

Another challenge, which she forced herself to take part in. Indeed, the blonde attended the Summer camp to have fun and this will be so fascinating and by luck if she gets an opportunity, she could likewise socialize with her teammates. To make a decision, she remained there thinking whether she have to tune in and follow the lead of any of her teammates, or settle on her own choice and to move alone if necessary.
It was confusing, if taking a way where nobody else follows her except for she feels right, she would do as such paying little mind to whether anyone would give her company. After all, no one would order her to go along with them, nor does she. The blue eyes glanced at the three different entrances, however before it could take a glimpse at the other two ways, her nose got a smell of something delicious, wow! That's watermelon.
Her eyes sparkled fixated at that way and her legs made a stride towards it but halted, however. It must be a trap for foodies which she wouldn't be tricked by. With a narrowed eyes, she studied the other two ways, "Yes, I am" she answered to what exactly was written on the middle entrance. Wait, what! Is it tempting her to enter this way, it must be another trick, she scratched her head.
"I am not taking this one, sorry" she shook her head, conversing to the way, yes to the entrance alone, not to any other person. At last, her eyes arrived at the alternate way, it looked normal, simply an empty bucket which isn't impressive. Yes! this must be it as it is not attractive as the other two entrances. “I... am taking the southern entrance as I think the other two are kind of... fishy” with a smile, she announced to her group before turning away from them. "I am coming for you" she entered the way with a pleased grin, not caring whether they considered her opinion.
How much ever she forced herself to look calm and composed, her heart raced at the fascinating yet alarming labyrinth when taken a look at the depth of it, and the fact that it was evening where the light would dim soon. The dimness wouldn’t terrify however but the prospect of what mystery the maze held frightened her. Gripping her wand tight, “Come on Vivian, you’re not running away” she helped herself by patting her own shoulder as she began strolling. Taking a long breath, she looked around to check if she could see anyone coming.

The Mysterious MazeTristan was ready. He didn’t know whether the maze would be dangerous or not but it was best to prepare. So he had his wand at hand, an bag on his shoulders ready for storage with some food and water and some comfortable muggle clothes on. It was late evening, the dampness in air pressing him everywhere. He could see the maze, occluded by fog, almost menacing, to his delight. The cool air propagated by the hedges of the maze delightfully awakening him. There were three entrances in front of him and the middle one called to him the most. He was definitely going to take the adventure alone and not follow the girl who just went into the southern entrance. So he went closer to observe the other two, The northern entrance seemed to smell like watermelon and the southern one had a bucket. But the middle one, had a riddle and it said “Are you ready?” And so Tristan decided to enter through the middle, and answer the question with a definite yes. After all this entrance was rather the best for him much like his personality. He was proud of his intelligence and preparedness and magical skill. He was a noble and part of the most ancient house of Theramin and he was a great intellect and discovering the secrets of tiny details and what they represent.Action: Enter Northern Entrance

Santario reached her arms up, stretching as they walked. “Do we know anything about this event, or is Monsieur Céspedes being mysterious? She asked Alan putting her arms down and smoothing her shirt. Her wand stuck out of her back pocket, ready to be used if needed as they approached the three entrances to the maze. Two people were already ahead of them; it seemed going down different paths.Open to Interactions
She looked over the area noting that one path seemed to have a lingering watermelon scent, the other a mysterious note, and the last had a bucket set on the ground before it. “Might as well have this ready…” She said more to herself than to Alan as she drew her wand. Who knew what they would encounter in this maze, but it reminded her of the labyrinth in the blossom ball just a few months back, and she sure would have wanted her wand with her in there. Only now she could have her wand.
Santario noted the girl did not take the bucket on the path she walked. “Hm… We should take the bucket regardless of what path we go down.” Santario walked over to the bucket and picked it up before turning back to Alan and his cat Tiger. “What do you think? Watermelon, spooky note, or bucket path?”

The Mysterious Maze was one of those events that had drawn Evelynn's attention with very little effort. Mazes were, by their own accord, innately intriguing. There was never telling just what one might encounter within their hidden corridors. At the Blossom Ball, they had endured a series of questions, and faced the tasked with trying to extricate themselves from its winding turns. While generally fairly decent with finding her way through a maze (it was hard to go wrong if you just kept a hand against a wall and followed it until the end), somehow Evelynn had gotten turned around to the point of needing a bit of a hint to find her way forward. Admittedly, she had taken almost personal offense to that; more than a little embarrassed at having struggled enough that someone felt the need to impose themselves upon her plight and provide direction. Obviously, that was ill-placed, and she felt the need to sort of set herself straight. Have a second chance, so to speak.
Evelynn had arrived promptly at the gathering point of her team. Polite smiles and bows of her chin had been offered in greeting to those in attendance, but very few were familiar to her. Among them, only two really stood out, and they had wasted no time in heading off to inspect the novelty of this new challenge.
"Vanes! Miss Martin!" Evelynn called ahead of her towards the backs of two individuals making their way towards the fog encompassed hedges. Fortunately, they had paused long enough—presumably in contemplation of where to begin—that Evelynn's lengthy strides had closed the distance between them. "What luck," she chimed on approach. "I thought for a moment that perhaps there would be naught but strangers here. I hope it wouldn't be a great imposition if I were to ask to join the pair of you, would it?"
Really, as far as she was concerned, she'd be in fairly good hands were she to ally herself to the pair of duelling captains. And given that she wasn't a bad spell, herself, surely they wouldn't be any worse off. The bucket in Santario's hand drew a curious eye from the lioness, although she couldn't fault the idea to take it. You never really knew what object might come in handy. In fact, she was sore that she hadn't thought to bring the bag of items she generally packed for events like the ball when trouble was all but assured.

Erica stared in front, at the giant maze that was towering over her, she hoped she wouldn't get lost in there. It was a late, foggy evening at the summer camp although the fog only seemed to cover the maze. Erica didn't know why she had decided to venture into a maze because she didn't like problem solving very much she hoped that it would give her a chance to make a few more friends, however as Erica looked around, everyone in her group seemed to know each other already.
Erica gazed ahead at the 3 entrances she had to choose from. She walked over to the first one which had a lovely, sweet smell coming from it. What was it?..... oh yes, watermelon! She liked watermelon and she thought for a second that maybe this was the safest path to take. "No!" she thought. "This path probably has one of those charms on it that makes the road smell differently to different people, it's probably a trick to try lure me in."
Next, Erica walked to the entrance in the middle, there was a note on the side of the entrance which read, 'Are you sure?' Erica thought about this and decided maybe not to take this one, noticing that unlike the other entrance, this one seemed to go to the right instead of the left.
She walked on and came to the last entrance, there was nothing there except for a single empty bucket, "It's looks quite sad, sitting there all alone," she thought. "Oh well, I think I'll take this one," she decided. It seemed to be the least spooky or intimidating and besides, almost everyone else seemed to be going through this entrance and Erica wasn't about to go into a magical maze at a new school all by herself.

Mysterious Maze. Wander around large shrubs endlessly looking for a entrance. Honesty it wasn't something Charles would sign up for and definitely didn't have the brain problem to complete the maze. At least not alone.
The Dumstrang teen stared at the entrances of the maze after arriving, hands in his jacket pocket where his wand securely was. Charles wasn't sure what to do, should he follow the two who entered the southern entrance or the boy who entered the northern entrance or does he go alone.
Charles looked back at the small group forming, perhaps he should join them? The blonde wasn't smart and didn't know anything about what he was doing or he could just go at it alone. There wasn't anything in the maze that could kill you, right?
Charles stared at the maze three entrances, taking steps by all three. Looking at them. One smelled like watermelon, a smell that Charles has no interest in. One had a bucket that the girl, what was her name took. One had a note, a warning to those who entered. So which would it be?
The blonde turned back toward the trio. There was three and a cat, great that's definitely a reason not to join them. Charles hated cats and pet in general, watching the feline the Dumstrang considered hexing it. Would he get in trouble? Wasn't the trick worth it?
Charles considered just going at it alone. He had his wand and strength, that was enough wasn't it but then again he sucked at magic and wasn't even averagely intelligent.
After a long moment of thought, he figured he would follow the group at a distance so he didn't attract the cat to him and wasn't forced in some conversation with the group.
Charles took a few steps back, pretending to be looking at the entrances when actually he was watching the group seeing which entrance they entered and would follow them a few feet behind of course.

The maze towered over the participants. It might have been scary or intimidating to others but not to him. Arjan casually strolled in, not too worried about the maze. He was just here to have a little bit of fun. Though, he did also want to win. Of course, he wanted to win. Why else would you take part in any activity? It was all about the challenge. That was the whole point of the adventure, the thrill and fun of it.
Glancing around, he spotted a few people had gathered. One stood out to him. She was a girl that he had only met once before - rather briefly - but he was pretty sure that she was the same girl that had been at the Spring Festival not too many months prior. She seemed cool, maybe he should go hit on hang out with her. Though, her boyfriend would likely get annoying again. He was not super interested in anyone who had a boyfriend, either. The girl next to her was rather pretty though! Maybe she was single?!
He did not really recognise anyone else in fairness. Oh wait, one of the guys looked somewhat familiar. Yeah, he was one of the kids from Durmstrang, no? Eh, he looked kind of familiar. Not that Arjan cared, he was not a good looking girl. Groups started to form nonetheless and people seemed keen to travel together. Not really bothered with going in a group - this was a competition, after all, and let's be fair, he was incredible enough to be able to do it by himself surely! So who cares!
Deciding to walk towards the path that no one else really seemed interested in entering, he made his way regardless of the rest of the group's intentions. It seemed to be the most obvious choice, looking at the challenge associated.

The prefect would arrive at the huge maze, taking it in suspiciously. He would soon find out that there were multiple routes they could have taken, which in itself made him wonder how many of those entrances would lead to nowhere. And all of those hints and objects? He hummed slightly as he listened to Santario as she listed the different options. "Spooky sounds the most exciting doesn't it? Though I do like watermelon, especially during summers," he said out aloud. The bucket path absolutely sounded the least enticing. "Let's go find out what that smell is all about!" he would make his final decisions as they seemed to be waiting for him to make the call.
"Hey Evelynn and sure, come with us; depending on what this is all about we may need an extra set of hands!" he would say with a nod, as he picked up Tiger who had previously lingered between their feet, greeting all of them with a rub of his head against their calves. The feline had been dressed up as Alan wasn't sure what to expect of this event, so Tiger was wearing a little kitty rain coat that would protect his precious coat from anything that could happen within this spooky maze (see image link above). Alan had been excited for this event, ever since he had signed up for it; knowing that Santario and his Quidditch captain would be participating in his group made it all the more exciting to him. He hoped it would end up being a bunch of fun. "Let's stick together to not get lost," he muttered as they would make their way through the northern entrance, lured by the sweet smell of water melon.

The great scent of watermelon proved too good of a lure for some of the students who decided they would try their luck along the sweet path. More than that, however, it seemed that the students were playing a game called follow the Alan. As it seemed they had designated Alan the master of decisions. Was that the best course of action? Only time would tell as he and a rag tag group of students waddled into the northern entrance. Notably, young Santario had also plundered the discarded bucket in front of the Southern Entrance. The action thus making her the Bucket Queen for the foreseeable future.
The path immediately bent to the left before taking a second sharp turn to the right down a somewhat long corridor where the hedges seemed to be closer together than the entrance. The narrow corridor would force the students into a single file line. The fog only grew thicker inside the maze but the scent of watermelon held strong.
Eventually, the narrow corridor would reach a fork. One path turned sharply to the left and the other path gently curved to the right. There wasn’t anything inherently different between the paths at first glance. But keen ears might hear a soft rumbling noise coming from the right path. It was faint but a careful student may catch it. Were the northern students condemned to a night of chasing after watermelon smells or was there a chance that they had could make it out unscathed?

Well, it seemed that the note left at the central entrance was no deterrent for one of the students. Instead of taking the note as a warning, it seemed that the young student was up for the challenge or at least proved more daring than their peers. Hopefully, they wouldn’t regret it…
As soon as Arjan crossed into the central path there was a low rumble from behind. Suddenly tendrils of roots and vines erupted from the opening. Branches weaved and pulled together as the hedges quickly closed off the entrance to the middle path, leaving the student standing in the dark corridor with no way to get out except through the maze. Hopefully, they would not mind the temporary solitude.
With the entrance now closed, the path became darker and more still as the hedges offered no more movement. The path inside would quickly weave to the right through a winding, but open path. A short way down the path, however, the students would be faced with a new option. A narrow path branched sharply to the left while the main path seemed to continue forward for a short way. In the darkness, which path would they choose?

Southern Entrance
@Vivian Fletcher, @Erica Griffin
A pair of students thought that they would try their hand at the bucket path...but with no bucket? How terrifying... But perhaps there would be more to collect along their long path to see them through. So into the southern path they went, likely hoping that they would not face anything terrifying like giant spiders or judgemental rock friends.
The path quickly arched to the left, taking the students on a short walk through the dense hedges. With the fog and tight turns, it was challenging to see more than a few paces in front of yourself. But eventually, the path opened into a small fork and the students would be forced to make a decision.
A new path branched off to the left, shrouded by fog but looking no different otherwise. Or the students could continue forward. However, through the fog on the path they were currently on, the students would be able to hear the soft twang of music. The faint sound of a solemn violin placing somewhere down the path in front of them. Perhaps a dance in the maze appealed to them or perhaps a strange violin in the middle of a fog filled maze was too ominous. The choice rested with them...

For those still standing at the entrance, they would still have a chance to enter the Northern or Southern entrance but the middle path was no longer available after it seemed to close itself.
