Heart retching endeavors
Marcus after finishing his last class before lunch, decided to spend some of his lunch out on the grounds, intent on reading the letter his father sent that he received this morning
Marcus stared at the letter for a few a seconds then let out a scream of pain and anguish, his magic responding to his pain and emotions as it swirls around him with a crimson color with silver specs, unbeknownst to him burning the letter to a crisp as he continues to scream and sob, not caring who hears, feels or sees as he just breaksdownDear Marcus, My Heir
I do hope you were sorted in Slytherin or Ravenclaw either House would do for the future of our House, if you indeed were you had better show your yearmates, what it means to be a De Wynter, Always planning, a plan within a plan my son, never show weakness to anyone not even those of your house.
Your training will be increased when you come back during Yule, so I expect your full cooperation with myself and your trainers, I...may lessen your training if you are ranked first in your class by the time Yule is upon us but not by much, as my heir should not be seen as weak if you are indeed seen as weak and I find out, I will cast you out of the House, making you less than a muggle-born in the eyes of everyone even those you would call friends..
Oh last thing..your mother I regret to inform you has fallen ill, a sudden case of dragon pox it seems..
Vestibulum per Virtute in Gloria (Planning for Power and Glory)
Your Father, Lord Cyrus De Wynter

Heart retching endeavors
The young Gryffindor had decided to go outside during her lunch break to enjoy natures. It has been a while since she was able to do so. Living in London was not really something that the girl liked. She preferred the village in Canada. The way the people were always friendly with everyone. No judgemental about anything, they lived peacefully and were always helping each other. She loved her country and was really sad to not be able to go back any soon. Perhaps she could ask her mother if she could go home during winter break. But she could not get her hope high, her mother despite her. It was a fact, and it would not change any time soon.Dear Lianna,
I have been to Hogwarts for a few weeks now and I have to say it is quite strange. Everyone is special. There even has been a prank in the Great Hall! You should have seen that, students were losing their hair! You would have laughed so hard..
Be at peace I have not lost mine. My shield spells saved me. I do hope that everything is alright on your side of the world. I am still waiting for your letters, but I keep hoping that you will finally be able to send me something. I can only imagine how hard it must be, to be in your position.
Be brave Lianna. Soon, we should be able to see each other again.
Only for you,
Arya.
Sighing, the young girl walked around in the small trails. The sky was clear and the wind was not too strong. It was a peaceful moment to enjoy. The rarity of those made it special. Arya was often stuck in a difficult situation and some calmer times were appreciated. However, she still loved to help others and to life some adventure. She liked to be caught in those little history, but it was always true that being in movement was hard sometimes. Especially if she had a personal difficulty with her family.
While she was walking, Arya got surprised by a screams. More precisely a loud sob. Someone was crying and screaming somewhere pretty close to her. Curiously, she decided to go and see. Maybe she could help someone with their problems. The young girl walked toward the sound and found a boy. Once she got closer, she realise it was a friend or her. Or at least, a boy she had met before in the train. It was Marcus De Wynter. A boy that she could not quite exactly say that she knew him yet. She was not sure what to think of him.
She walked with assurance toward the boy and delicately put her hand on his shoulder. He was crying. His emotion was so unstable that his magic was scattered all over him. She could feel it inside herself. It was a really strange experience, but she said nothing about it, move concerned about the young boy. She quickly observed him to see if he was injured, but everything seems in orders. A letter was burning on the ground. She was smart, so she understood that something must have troubled him inside this letter. She looked at him in the eyes and softly smiled to reassure him.
-Marcus.... What's wrong?
Maybe she could help the boy to feel better about the situation that was making him live so much distress.

Marcus jumps when Arya touched his shoulder, moving away from Arya as tears flow down from his eyes "W-What are you doing here, Arya?" He asked when he recognized her, his magic dimming down as he tried to breathe, eyeing her cautiously "How did you find me?" He asked after slowly calming down.
'I will not be viewed as weak, like my father assumes, I won't let my mother being ill hold me back from taking what is mine' he vowed to himself in his thoughts, as he watches Arya "Didn't think anyone would want to look for me, now that I think about it" he muttered "Don't think that just because I complimented you on your shield spell that you can walk all over me" he said watching her closely as he imagines several scenarios heightened by his emotions and thoughts, some involve his secrets revealed and his father disowning him, others involve his secrets being kept in different ways and him taking The De Wynter Lordship from his father by force, she would see his eyes flicker as he is deep in thought while waiting for her answers to his many questions, obviously he would be defensive due to her seeing him as he is right now due to his upbringing.

The girl sighing while sitting down at his side. The boy was too much defensive around her. Could he not think that she only wanted to help him? Sometimes, people really wanted to help each others even in this hard and cruel world. Compassion was possible and Arya did not want to let him like that. She knew what this cruel world could do and she wanted to change this. She looked into his eyes and answered honestly to his interrogation.
- Honestly, I was only taking a walk. I just happened to be around when I heard you. It's not in my natures to pass by a person in need without trying to help.
She was looking at him while trying to figure things out. The boy was not really receptive and she always thought he was too much on the defensive when he was around people. To her, it felt like he was trying to put a wall between himself and others, that he was playing a role to hide his true nature. The young girl was really perceptive when it comes to this. And she could tell that he was not feeling alright at all. As if he had so much pressure on his shoulder. What could cause him so much pain? The girl was lost in her thought when the boy started to close himself and tried to attack her if she could name it like that. Psychological words that could not hurt the girl nor make her feel bad about her good intention. She was not here to mock him, she was not here to be cruel. She was here to help him.
- I think you worth enough for people to stop by and talk with you...
The girl laughed a little after the next comments of the boy. Honestly, her spells have not been great at all. If she would have been able to control it better, maybe Darius would not have lost some of his hair. She felt bad about this. It was a childish prank that would not cause any real troubles but she wanted to protect her friend and Darius was one of her best friends. She sighed again and passed her hand through her hair.
- To be honest, that spell was not really great. I wish it would not have touched Darius. Like, anyone but him!
She made a small smile after she talked and returned her attention to Marcus. She really wanted to make him believe her on her good intention. So she decided to talk more truthfully.
- Don't you think I would not be sitting here with you if I had other intention than to help you or try at least? I would not waste my time on people that I don't think worthy of my time. I'm here to help you Marcus. If you accept my help that is. I don't have any bad intention. You can tell me what's wrong...
She looked into his eyes to show him she was being honest. Why wouldn't she be anyway?

Marcus thought about what she said as he stared at her while wiping his eyes "You are a pureblood right?" He asked "If you are you know how some of the older house are like when it comes to certain things.." he added softly "My House is probably one of the oldest so my father expects certain things from me as a heir to the House, reason why i train so hard and study so much because it is my duty as the heir, so much that if i failed in any task my father would personally beat and torture me with hexes and curses until i was broken enough to be remolded once more until i became my father's vision for his heir" he pauses thinking of his next words "the letter i received was from my father telling me what he expects of me while i am here, at the end of the letter my father decides to inform me of my mother becoming ill like it was an afterthought for merlin's sake!" He growls becoming aggravated "I just can't take much more of this, every bloody night i have to sneak out to the Astronomy tower or somewhere isolated to heal the scars and injuries i have received over the years from him, its getting far to much"

The young girl was listening to him. His story was quite sad. She was not a Pure-Blood, but she could still relate to how he felt even if she did not have to live through all of this. Her story was less hurting than his, but at some point, the feeling was the same. They only wanted to make their parents proud in some ways. Otherwise, they would not try so hard to make it up to them. At least, it was what she thought when he told her his story. Some secrets he probably would not say to anyone. She felt glad that he talked to her. Maybe it would make his shoulder be a little bit less heavy after that.
-I am not a Pure-Blood. My mother is a Muggle. She doesn't really ... appreciate magic if I can say it that way... I can't say that I totally understand how you feel Marcus, but what I know is that you need to be yourself. You can't live in his shadow all of your life. And when you're here at school, you're far from him. He can't do anything against you here. I might not be that strong, but I won't let my friend get hurts!
She took his hands and looked in his eyes with a worried face. The young girl could not do much about his situation except support him the best she could, but she would at least do that. The boy deserved friendship and fun. He was at school to become a good wizard, but also to enjoy himself. They were kids! Nothing as a family's house or heir things should stop a child to have fun. She found this situation so unfair.
- I don't really understand the heir situation, but I still find it unfair... You should be able to play and have fun like anyone of us. Do not pressure yourself so much with this... It will only destroy and break you...I am sorry about your mother..
She was worried about him, this situation was not healthy. Arya did not know how to express herself in this situation, but she was trying the best. She then listens to him, saying he had to escape to the Astronomy tower during night to treat his injury. It was not normal for someone so young to have to do this alone.
- This is so awful... You should not have to deal with this alone... Do you need help with the scars and injuries?
The girl was really touched by his situation.

Marcus shakes his head sadly "Thank you for helping but my father would know as he definitely has business partners from other houses using their heirs to watch me" he revealed "reason why i hide away" he added
he blinks when she says he is her friend "Friend? I don't even know you that well.." he replied with a deep frown while he is in thought "i wouldn't mind having a friend..but you should still be careful" he stated to her carefully "I don't know what father would do if he finds out i befriended a halfblood...no offense to you as i don't agree with him on that stand" he added then then stared into her eyes with his ruby red ones which soften slightly "if you want to help with my injuries i don't mind but you aren't the first to find out about my injuries..a girl in your house found out as well and decided to help that night with the injuries, so she will probably be involved since she is already keeping that secret" he informed then shuts his eyes for a second and shakes his head "Her name is Leena but yeah she is apart of your house also a ravenclaw kid stumbled upon her talking to me but he doesn't really understand i don't think..i mean I'm not sure he saw the injuries."

The girl was surprised when Marcus said there were people that his father has contact with watching him constantly. It was a rude way to treat his son and she felt really bad about this. The poor boy had to hide away to finally be able to feel like himself. It was quite sad in her sense.
Arya was not sure how to feel about his comments on being a half-blood. Was it bad to have a Muggle parent? She could not see in which way it would be. So she could not understand the way of thinking of many Pure-Blood. She honestly did not make any difference between all of them and would not start to care about it because she thought it was useless. The girl reads a lot of history books when she was younger and she learned that many wizards that claimed to be Pure-Blood were actually Half-Blood. It was quite easy to find an ancestor that was not a wizard in the branch of family of most of the Pure-Blood. The young girl sighing, frowned her eyebrows and looked into the eyes of the boys.
- I-Is it bad to have a Muggle parent?... Does it makes any difference really?... I don't really understand people that think that It makes a difference and you're free to do as you want... I think of us as a friend, yes. We meet in the train and today too. I think all of this is enough to make us friends in my point of view.
The girl looked around them, Somes birds could be heard around, and the winds were slowly going through her hair. She liked the feeling of natures. It was a way to calm down and to relax. Marcus was talking about some people that knew about his injuries. She was surprised to hear the name of Leana which was a young girl she had met in the Gryffindor common room.
-Well, I really want to help you. As long as it can ease your pain...
She smiled to him, the girl did not care about the fact that she was a Half-Blood. She still thought they could be friend. He was one of the first person that she felt like she could understand him. Arya knew he was often teasing people and making pranks to others, but she felt as if it was only his outside. Marcus was way more complex than that. He was an interesting boy and she was curious about him and wanted to get to know him more.

Marcus nodded and smiled weakly toward Arya "Then if you are sure i would like to be your friend" he said "i just hope you would be careful involving my father" he added then slowly tried to hug her "i just don't want to be alone" he whispered sadly then pulled back slowly and paused "thank you" he added in a quiet voice then relaxed against the nearby tree "I'm probably going to take a nap" he chuckled softly "kinda overwhelmed right now" he admitted with a weak smile "anyway tell me about yourself" he asked curiously "seeing as we really didn't talk much on the train" he added with a sigh then looked around then taking a sandwich he took from the great hall and began eating it slowly as to relax "I'm curious as to what the infamous hogwarts rumor mill says about me these days" he said softly with a slight chuckle "Even though most of those rumors are stupid as I'm sure atleast one says I'm the next dark lord" he said with a laugh then shook his head "Gods people can be so stupid though if they blindly believe the rumor mill i mean look at Potter, from what i have heard the rumor mill blasted him in his second, fourth and fifth year but now look at the guy everyone loves him"

She smiled towards the boy. He was slowly opening himself to her and it was making her happy. She did not hate the guy at all. Like she had thought before, she could see he was kind and great inside. But he was hiding under some mask created by his background, his family. She could understand this even if she did not live all of what he had to. She could still relate in some part. She returned her attention to the boy next to her.
- Of course, I am sure. Do not worry, even if I am not afraid of your father, I will be careful. I don't want anything to happen to you because of me.
It was then that Marcus got closer and gave her a hug. She had extended her arms and put them on his back. She understood how he felt, nobody wanted to be left alone in this world. Unfortunately, it was the case of many. She hated it. Everyone deserved to be able to enjoy themselves with others without having to worry about everything because they were being spied on. After a while, Marcus relaxed against the three and told her he would probably take a nap to regain control of himself. Arya was not sure how to react. Should she leave him here? Was it what he wanted? her questions were answered once Marcus told her to talk about herself. It was true they did not have much time to do so on the train. It would be a great occasion to get to know each other better. He deserved to know more about her. Especially since he had opened about so many horrible things from his lives. She could share some of her own too. The girl brought her kneel to her chest and laid her head on them while looking in front of her.
- Well, first of all, I am from Canada. So you can imagine that coming to England has been really disturbing for me. I would have liked to stay in my own country but destiny wanted otherwise... Or more like my mother wanted otherwise. As I said before, my mother is a muggle. Before meeting my dad, she never knew about our world. When she learned it, she was not happy at all. She thinks we are some kind of freak I guess. So well, my twin sister and I got separated because of her... I have not seen her for three years. We can only discuss by sending ourselves letters.
The girl was not sure how much she must tell him. It was the minimum she could give for now. Maybe, later on, she would share more, once she was more comfortable with her own story. She returned her attention to the boy who was now eating a sandwich will saying he was wondering what kind of rumor was currently being spread about him. It was true that many first years have been talking about him. Her eyes went to him.
- Hm, I haven't heard a lot but what I can say is that you did a certain impression in the Great Hall. That is for sure. But don't believe all those rumors. They are only that, rumors...
She was still looking at Marcus while wondering if others would stop those rumors one day just as they did for the chosen one...
