Summer Camp Truth or Dare Group 2

For some bizarre reason, it was decided that there would be an official day of several games of 'Truth or Dare' taking place throughout the day for students to partake in. Well, not just students but most of the adults did not seem to sign up. Either way, there was an official school-wide event for the day. Those who were keen to take part were told to meet at the grounds when they were ready to play.

Each player was also given a t-shirt in their favourite colour with their name on the back in embroidery. The front had a small symbol on the top left side of their cabin animal, a simple outline of the animal in one colour. It was easy enough to do when professors had their favourite colours in advance from the original registration list when they were signing up for cabins. If they didn't pick a colour at that time, they would be given a grey one. They were welcome to also write on the t-shirt and add more if they wished to but the embroidery had a handmade feel to it already, so some might not want to 'ruin' it. At this point, it was personal preference. The size was 'magicked' to the correct size for them. They were encouraged to wear the t-shirt on the Truth or Dare day, in order to take part.

It was a nice bright sunny day. There were plenty of blankets, bean bags, logs or cushions around that students could arrange as they wanted and sit on if they so desired. There were a few large cooler boxes dotted around that had a selection of different drinks. Non-alcoholic, of course. Bottles of water, juice or other soft drinks like fizzy drinks stocked the boxes. There were also some picnic baskets that contained snacks that they could pick up and take with them. Things like packets of crisps, biscuits, chocolates and candy. Anything wrapped or easy to take with them. Food was not what people were here for, though - but let's be honest, it was a priority, at least in Jensen's eyes.

But for most people, it was the game that mattered most. Students arrived at the grounds, ready to play. They would find themselves with a group of others. There was a large gold goblet propped up on a tablet. It had a purple flame over it, though if touched, it would feel cool and nothing would set on fire. Next to it, there were stacks of paper and quills with ink to write down their name.

Those who wished to take part had to sign their name - and whether they chose a truth or a dare - onto the paper and put it into the goblet. In return, they would be given a name for someone else who had signed up - as well as that person's choice. Whatever name they received, their task was to give that person a 'truth' or 'dare', as they wanted. This was made easier by the fact that everyone - well, those who actually listened - was wearing a handmade t-shirt with their names on it. They were also, of course, expected to fulfil any truths or dares given to them by others in the group.

(And no, this is not the same goblet as in the Triwizard Tournament. I just liked those gifs).

Students were not forced to do any of the truths or dares. They could ignore it if they wanted and not do it if they didn't want to. There were no consequences. Except for the lack of bragging rights. Of course, all usual school rules applied and students were asked not to propose any 'truths' or 'dares' that encouraged breaking that. There was also a sign that said "consent is cool, people" as a reminder.
How This Game Works:
1. Just to make it easier to moderate, I have randomly assigned sign-ups to smaller groups. This is your group. IC, you can see what's happening in the other threads (as it's all happening at the same time around the same place) but OOC, you'll get allocated people within your groups only for ease.

Note: You can mention reacting to seeing others in their groups. However, if you mention specific individuals then please acquire OOC consent to mention them first. If you do not have OOC consent, please don't metagame/godmod seeing them. (Assume you cannot see them if they haven't given you consent).

2. Your group is at the bottom of this post. You will receive your first allocation in a couple of days.

3. Week 1 - Please roleplay posing a truth or dare to this assigned person, based on their choice. You will have one week to do this.

4. If you do not receive truth or dare by the deadline, message me and I'll give you a random one (most likely from Google =p)

5. Week 2 - everyone (including you) will RP out the choices out.

6. In your Week 2 post, please remember to pick a 'Truth' or 'Dare' if you wish to get a new one. If you don't specify clearly (in an 'action') then I will probably just assume you want the same as whatever you signed up with.

This will then just repeat so that you get new assignments and a second victim. If you don't post within either the posing dares/truths or RP stage, we will remove you from the next assignments.
IMPORTANT:
Remember, we have site ratings and rules. All dares/truths need to follow those. Remember your character's age, the site rating and rules. Make sure you have OOC consent for things. Every truth or dare you propose must follow site ratings and OOC rules. Don't be a OOC jerk, essentially.
And no, I don't care about IC rules (despite what the text says). You can propose dares that break IC rules if you wish to and if that's what your character would do (IC, Jensen will ask that you don't but you can ignore that and do it - though, you may get in trouble for posing it too).

McCowan had played his first game of truth or dare during the Gryffindor slumber party celebrating the end of his first year at Hogwarts. Coming into his second, he found that the nerves that had beaten around his mind leading into that game weren't present. The game had taken place only a little over a month prior, but to the boy it seemed like so long ago. He had changed somewhat since then, not just in his gradual acceptance of his desire to standout and succeed, but also in his appearance. Not even summer had forced him to get a haircut, and a slight rosy tan covered his exposed arms, themselves thinner and bonier than they had been a year prior. Nicholas had always been skinny, but now he appeared more as a marathon runner than the childish eleven year old he had been a year earlier.

He hadn't bothered to modify the burgundy shirt he wore, taking some small pride in the thestral that adorned it. Instead, he had merely opted to roll up the sleeves slightly, matching the rolled up jeans that he wore. As always, he appeared much rattier than his station would otherwise allow. With his hair matted and with his clothing closer to the trash heap than to the rack, Nicholas for once in his life felt comfortable in his own skin. Perhaps he was tired of trying to conform to expectations, perhaps he had finally decided how he was going to conquer the school. Neither particularly mattered, after all, this was a day for games. A day for truth or dare.

Much like it had been at the Gryffindor event, he found himself the first one to arrive. The boy immediately took to raiding one of the cooler boxes, grabbing both a bottle of water and a pineapple juice, opting to carry both back to a cozy green beanbag that he'd spied as he approached. He fell into it, his posture halfway between sitting and standing as he got comfortable. With nothing to do but to wait for the other participants to arrive, the boy cracked open the bottle of yellow juice and took a sip. Pleasantly, he was reminded of the punch at the Blossom Ball.

But even as he perched, relaxed, and enjoyed the warm summer balminess and cool tang of his juice, Nicholas thought. Once more his mind was turned to winning, however he would manage to do that in Truth or Dare, he did not know. But that was his priority.

Theodore was excited. This was his second summer camp with magical schools from different countries and somehow, he hadn't though that it was possible but somehow he began to get used to the fact that there were two different worlds on this planet. Or... probably a lot more even. The wizarding world probably included a lot more different worlds than he thought.

This time there were more events though. Spinning the bottle with kissing people- definitely not to bad, truth or dare and there was even the possibility to go swimming in a lake! In spring, when he had been here to attend the Blossom Ball, it had been strictly prohibited. Another highlight was his cabin that, as Everett had said, looked as if 'a clown had thrown up in it', resulting in Theodore renaming it from unicorn cabin to clown cabin.

The Truth or Dare Day was something Theo had been particularly looking forward to- He was simply a fan of games like that! Besides, how bad could it be? Everyone who participated would be doing weird things today, so who even cared?

He was not the first who arrived it seemed, there was a boy with dark hair ( @Nicholas Cowan) on a beanbag already, wearing a shirt with a thestral on it. Theo picked up his as well, pulled a face when he saw that it displayed his full name but then shrugged and put it on.

He grabbed some pumpkin juice and a bag of crisps before he walked over to the boy. "Hi there", he said, once more extremely conscious of his strong american accent, "I'm Theo from Ilvermorny. You mind if I sit here?" He pointed on another beanbag nearby.

The first person he had to dare was a redhaired girl, who he believed was from Hogwarts? Maybe Beauxbatons. But probably Hogwarts. Once he would spot and recognize her by the name on her shirt, he'd sent her a grin. "Evelynn, is it? I got a dare for you- For the next thirty minutes, every time someone says 'like', you shout one of your friends' names. No matter which one, as long as they are present at the camp." With a cheeky smile he threw a crisp into his mouth.

INTERACTIONS:@Haley Rose
They were only a few weeks into the summer celebrations and for some seemingly strange reason, someone had thought it a genius idea to bunch a group of kids together for some good old-fashioned Truth or Dare and Elena knew all too well how that would go if the Gryffindor slumber parties had been any evidence. Still, she wasn't one to shy away from such activites as it was considered a rite of passage in a weird sort of way as the girl strided over to the gathering group of kids giving everyone a wave. Her shirt proudly displaying the livery and imagery of a phoneix, after all, such creatures were supposed to be bold and couragues much like her true house and what sort of Gryffindor would Elena Jangleton be if she didn't rise to those expectations? As long as no one made her do anything remotely stupid and there were several ideas that rose to mind because people could get very creative when it came to this sort of stuff, maybe that was why so many tended to go for the 'truth' option, not that she blamed them.

However, it seemed the brunette would be relieved from having to come face-to-face with a total stranger as it was quickly established whether by fate or some immense stroke of luck that the person she would have to dare would turn out to be none other than her own house-mate and friend, Haley Rose. The girl nudged her with her shoulder in greeting as she grinned. "Imagine that, I got you." This was okay, Elena could explore a little bit here otherwise had it been someone completely new, this would have made things a bit more awkward. "Okay, let me think.." Elena hummed thoughtfully clasping her fingers together as ideas bounced around in her head. Something basic yet nothing too boring, it had to be fun and she was sure Haley was going to get her back for this at a later date but for now, it was going to be well worth the cost.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up as it came to her as the girl turned to Haley pointing a finger at her. "I dare you to.." She let the sentence trail off to let some of the suspense kick in before she concluded what she was about to say. "Hold a converstation with a tree for a minute." Elena declared gesturing around at the various trees that littered the grounds, it was essentially talking to yourself given the fact that the trees in fact did not possess any form of communcation as should have been obvious. It wasn't too bad and the sight of someone doing somthing utterly ridicolous as that could prove to be quite the entertaining sight. "You can talk about anything, the weather, this camp, gossip, whatever." For the next minute, one lucky tree was going to be Haley's best friend and the thought of it made her giggle. It was better than the idea with the pumpkin juice though that could be something else, those coolers had to be used up after all. Elena settled into her bean bag waiting to see which sapling would be Haley's new acquaintance.

It was Haley's first summer camp and after already having the first encounters in her cabin, she could hardly wait for all the planned activities. Spin the bottle, the lake party, druth or dare. And that was exactly her cue today - druth or dare. Of course, she had signed up for the first round of dare and was more than excited to see what was in store for her. But whatever it would be, Haley was sure that she would not shy away from her task.

Haley joined the group and smiled happily to everybody, "Hey there, I'm Haley. Gryffindor." Before Elena greeted her with a nudge, letting her know it was her turn to give her a Dare. "I have great expectations." Haley countered with a laugh, nudging her back lightly before sitting down in one of the empty seats and looking around eagerly. A boy who introduced himself as Theo gave Evelynn a dare and Haley kept the task in mind knowing that she could have some fun with the team CoCaptain.

When Elena pointed at Haley she looked at her friend with wide eyes but smirked quietly to herself, she was more than excited to see what she would ask her to do. Haley started laughing out loud and shook her head. She pointed to one of the trees that stood nearby, "You mean one LIKE that?" at this question she winked at Elena and Evelynn and got up from her seat. Laughing, she walked over to one of the trees in the immediate vicinity before looking back once and addressing Evelynn. "I'd LIKE you all to meet Herald!" she turned and hugged the tree that stood in front of her. "Gosh, I missed you LIKE nothing else." Haley spoke addressing the tree as she gave it a tight hug. "Summer break was amazing you know." She now began to talk about her holiday. For the next minute, if not longer, she talked to the tree, which listened obediently and asked no questions. About her holidays, about her new home, about Cosmo's visit. She told all sorts of things and as soon as the minute was over she went back and dropped into the bean bag while still giggling.

"Well." She was thinking now, she had to think of a dare for Scarlet. They didn't know each other and Haley couldn't think of anything creative on the fly, "I dare Scarlet to hug the prettiest person in this round." Haley shrugged her shoulders. She wished she could have come up with something more creative but it was hard with people she didn't know. So she went with something that was more than simple and common for this game.

There were already a few students gathered in the part of the grounds in which they were told to meet for a game of truth or dare. If she was being completely honest, seeing them all there made her feel slightly nervous about what the game had in store for her, and the dare she had elected to take on. Scarlet had only ever played the game with her cousin, so including her, in a group of two people. She did however feel slightly reassured in the fact that she felt she had experienced a good share of tricky dares at her expense, from having to navigate her way back through the forest to her house at night blindfolded, to sitting with a spider on her for one minute - that last one she still shudders at the thought of.

She noticed that the students were all wearing t-shirts with their names on the back, similar to her own burgundy one, looking down at the small Kelpie on her front. It wasn't exactly the most stylish thing, but 'at least it fit well' she thought, not something that would have any use beyond the camp though. From what she could see, the fun of the game hadn't properly begun yet, at least she couldn't see any outlandish dares being performed or the reactions to any truths being revealed.

Opting for one of the blankets she had seen, she prepared a space on a free bit of grass within the group and sat herself down with a bottle of water she had picked up with the blanket. She listened first, as a couple of the others thought of dares for their fellow students. Scarlet looked down at the piece of paper with the name of the person she would have to give a dare to:
Nicholas McCowan
She had a quick glance around to see if he had already joined the group, and sure enough she caught sight of his name on the back of, to her surprise, another burgundy shirt - identical in colour to her own.

Wanting to have a dare in mind before approaching him, she sat for a while longer, her mind playing through games with her cousin from the past, though none seemed best suited for the more light-hearted game that was to take place here. Then an idea sprang to mind, not the most adventurous, but Scarlet herself knew she wouldn't exactly be too thrilled to be given this dare as hers, but knew certain personality types would be much more up for it.

Scarlet made her way over to where the boy was sat, on a green beanbag, "Hi! I'm Scarlet, it's Nicholas right?" she asked, "I've got your dare for you if you're ready. I dare you to sing to someone else in the group for one minute, basically serenade them," she said excitedly. "Bonus points if it's a love song too!" she quickly added.

Nicholas hadn't been expecting the first person to approach to have such a thick accent, but despite the brief few second it took his mind to adjust the relatively foreign sounding words, the boy found that he quickly filed away the information as relatively insubstantial. After all, there were plenty of foreign students abound the school for the moment. Part of the camp's purpose appeared to be fostering positive relationships between the various international wizarding communities, so it was hardly his place to pass judgment.

"'Ay, Theo, name's McCowan," Nicholas responded to his greeting before smiling and gesturing to the open beanbag, "Be my guest, mate."

It was only after the other boy sat down that Nicholas realised he had failed to actually note what school he was from. Then again, given his brogue, it was highly unlikely that he could be taken to be from anywhere other than the British Isles. Confident in that lack of response as response enough, the boy settled back into his beanbag. More students approached, some familiar, some not so familiar.

Eventually so too did approach the girl that had drawn him as her target. A Slytherin whom he did not quite recall the name of. Excitement emanated off of her as she spoke and Nicholas could not help but feel wrapped up in. Perhaps this wouldn't be quite so bad a dare after all, she didn't have the same air of smugness that had permeated through the common room as the lions had tried to one up each other after all. The challenge itself dissuaded any such thought. Immediately he blushed scarlet red, eyes opening wide at the thought of embarrassing himself before the entire group, and so intimately as well. His face contorted and flared into a grimace before he forced a smile.

"Ok, you're on."

But first, there was the matter of his own target. One Viola Tempete, a fair skinned girl with dark hair. He didn't recognise her and felt somewhat safe in the assumption that she was likely to be from one of the visiting schools, given their approximately similar ages.

"Hey, uh, Viola?" He directed toward her, the fact he was coming up with the challenge on the fly very obvious, "You ever kissed someone?"

The question was crude, unimaginative and entirely unoriginal. But it was normally a good one to set the tone, to separate those who were afraid of even the slightest engagement with the game early. At least, he figured as much. The game theory of truth or dare still greatly eluded him.

Apparently Evelynn was quite a bit more of a Gryffindor than she ever would have admitted or let on. Once again, for the second time in the span of just over a month, she found herself drawn by curiosity to a group that arranged itself to play Truth or Dare. As much as she might have liked, she couldn't feign ignorance. She knew exactly what she had signed up for the moment she had agreed to pull the tee bearing the name [EVELYNN] over her head, frowning distastefully in silence and wishing it had instead read her surname. But nevermind.

Taking a seat amongst the rest, she adopted her typically reserved demeaner. With a polite smile, she inclined her head to any who acknowledged her arrival, offering slightly warmer smiles and perhaps even a small wave of her fingers to those of her own house—McCowan, Rose, and Jangleton.

"Fancy seeing you here, McCowan," Evelynn chimed, the hint of a smirk cast in the boy's direction as amusement danced upon her gaze. "I suppose it is by chance that we find ourselves once again sharing a circle. Shall I keep myself on guard for retribution?" A reference—one perhaps even accompanied by a subtle challenge—to the last time they'd played this game together at the Gryffindor end of year slumber party celebration.

"Good day to you, Rose," Evelynn offered more amicably, taking a seat next to her quidditch mate.

Arranging herself comfortably, straight backed, and feet collected elegantly to the side, she had been about to speak something further to the other ginger when her name sounded on the lips of an American-accented boy. Striking grey eyes turned upon him, chin inclined curiously. Apparently they were going to waste no time in getting started.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance," she responded politely. "Decipio, actually," came the soft correction, "if you wouldn't mind."

And then, all more quickly than she might have expected—did he even pause to ponder it?—he took his turn and presented her with a dare. Lips parted. Then closed, the corner of her mouth tugging for just a moment. She'd almost had an out from this one. Almost. Ami wasn't here. Most of her friends disappeared after none too long. But there was one... no, tw--three.. that came to mind. In fact, that realization that she had friends there at all left her feeling a touch more emboldened than she had been moments before when she'd expected to be remaining silent.

At least until she acknowledged that this would mean she would actually have to follow through with the dare. With luck, however, none would pick up on the little condition that would have her acting upon it. "Very well," came the acquiescence as she rested her weight to one hand and redirected her attention to Jangleton as she took her turn. Amusement creased Evelynn's features at the dare posed to Rose who promptly jumped up to fulfil it.

Within seconds a heavy exhalation of defeat left Evelynn's parted lips. She shot the chaser a dagger-filled look before obediently shouting, "MARCHONNÉ!", then "MOZOR!", and "HOLMWOOD!" shortly thereafter.
Starts to fulfil the dare she received
Clearly, at least one person had every intention to take full advantage of her dare. And why their surnames? Somehow it seemed less embarrassing to call those out; to shout out given names seemed a touch too personal. At least here, she could align it to the pitch where she might call to grab a player's attention before announcing a change in strategic play or something of that nature.

"I suppose I'll give mine a go, then," she spoke up after several others had posed their assigned dares and questions. "Is there a Rutherford here?" she inquired, glancing up from the paper she'd obtained to survey the circle for any sign of ownership. The name nagged familiarly at her, but it wasn't until her gaze fell onto the corresponding face that recognition dawned. "Oh, you're in Gryffindor, aren't you?" Evelynn inquired rhetorically. "Very well then, demonstrate for us your boldness and courage. I dare you to act out all parts to a scene of your favourite play or film."

Charlotte fingered the hem her blue and green shirt and ran her thumb over the embroidered thestral. She smiled as she sat down in a red beanbag chair with her group. Looking around she saw a couple of familiar faces from her cabin. A girl who seemed only a year older than herself with long red hair, and a boy with curly brown hair who occupied the bunk below hers.

Charlotte looked down at her paper and saw that she was supposed to dare a boy named Theodore (@Opeila WInters). Nervously clearing her throat she looked around and spotted a shirt with the name Theodore embroidered on the back. He was sitting next to her bunkmate on another beanbag. Standing up she felt her cheeks redden at the thought of daring this stranger to do something. She got nervous around new people but that was one of the reasons she'd signed up for this game wasn't it? To get used to interacting with new people.

With a false confidence in her step she approached Theodore from behind and tapped on his shoulder. "Hi Theodore, I'm Charlotte. It says here I'm supposed to give you a dare. So I dare you to leap like a frog every time someone eats or drinks something for the next fifteen minutes." Gosh she sounded so awkward as she tried to fake confidence and ease. And leap like a frog? What type of dare was that? Oh well...
