By now, Evelynn was finding herself hard pressed not to have sweat sheening off her brow with the amount of running around she had been doing in order to keep tabs on all of her groups. Next time, she resolved, this was going to happen outside. Perhaps she'd make a map with clues to specific places across the grounds. That way, she could make her rounds on the swift ride of her Silver. That seemed far preferable to this rather subservient level of exertion.
She had been barely able to make it up the stairs to the tower in time to see Rose snatch the envelope from the wall and tear into it. Brows flared in surprise with just how swiftly they were off again. Barely a second had passed and already the clue had been solved. She pursed her lips slightly, scoffing a quiet puff of self-depreciating defeat from her nares. Perhaps she'd underestimated her peers. Well, that could only be a good thing. Clearly there were clever ones among them. That could prove useful in the years to come...
Evelynn refocused her attention back on the game, hurrying right back down the steps after the group as they made their way to the greenhouses where stones ought not to be thrown. We spent a lot of time to create individual paths for every team. The goal of every team is to reach the final location and the team that gets there first wins. But as simply looking who posts there first would hardly be fair, we have thought of another way to determine, which team was the quickest (I will come to that in a second). I will supply every team with one clue at a time. Once you solved it, I will give you the next. You might find that some are easier than others, but I have given some difficult clues to every team, I don't doubt that there will be struggles at a certain point. In that case, you may ask for hints. For the sake of fairness, the Slytherins will have to ask Evelynn, the Gryffindors have to ask Opeila.
We will post a new thread for every single clue. Once those threads are up, you will have to post 700 words- as a team, multiple people together or one single person, I don't care- that include the solution of the riddle. The solution of the riddle is not always a location. You'll need to tell us the solution to the riddle we gave you- just saying a location that could as well be a good guess is not enough.
How is the time calculated?
We only count the time that you guys needed to figure out the riddle. The time between you solving one clue and us giving you the next, as well as the time between you asking for a hint and us replying will be substracted. Differences in timezones or a busy afternoon of a mod are not supposed to be the reason for a team to lose. But to motivate you to try your best with the clue before you ask us for hints, there is a penalty. For every hint you ask for, there will be 12 hours added to your total time as well as another 200 words to write after we give you the hint.
Also please write into every post what team you are in and your wordcount. Otherwise the calculations may take longer than necessary.

Alan hummed, he was not entirely sure about how to solve the next riddle as they had arrived at the greenhouse. Alan first had to navigate which one would actually lead them to the next location, after all there were 7 different greenhouses. But soon enough the fourth year, with Haley and Tiger in tow would arrive at the correct greenhouse and find another clue taped to the exterior of the thick glass. Truly throwing a rock in the vicinity would be deadly for both the plants as well as the person thinking they could take on so many magical plants at once.
Alan would narrow his eyes as he stared at the clue and it took him a while of counting his fingers that looking at it the right way would only lead to a bunch of gibberish and would lead them nowhere. But Haley had the great idea to check the numbers of the alphabet backwards which would make it a bit more complicated.
Alan would take a pen from his pocket and would began to scribble the alphabet onto the paper with the clue, so that reading the alphabet backwards would be much more easy to do now and surprisingly it helped a lot. The counting would still end up being a little troublesome every now and then, but over all it had become a bunch more doable and it did not take them much longer to find the result of their next clue. Alan did not even bother to finish off the whole clue as the first five letters had been enough of a answer to him.
"It's about the trophy room! I'm sure it is! Look, you were right and it will form t - r - o - p - h and there is only one place that could even fall into consideration for the clue!", the fifth year jumped a little, excitement about their great team work just made adrenaline and the desire to jump and run around, rush through his body without mercy. Alan would quickly start heading to where they would find their next clue.

@Gia Adelard @Calanthe Choi @Alan VanesNow it was time to get out of the castle and find the next clue and solve it as quickly as possible. The team was ambitious and that could not be overlooked. Quickly the two and Tiger arrived at the greenhouses, it didn't take them long to get to the right one and find their next clue. Haley didn't doubt for a second that they were on the wrong track and it was confirmed with the final envelope. Haley was visibly proud of herself and Alan, the two of them had done incredibly well throughout the treasure hunt.
Surprisingly, however, she discovered that it was nowhere near a riddle like the others. No words, no rhymes, just numbers. What were they supposed to do with it? Haley tapped her fingers pointedly against her thighs as she pondered sharply. It had to be some kind of code, but they had nothing to decipher it with, so it had to be an obvious code. She started to connect the numbers with the alphabet, but at first it didn't make any sense.
However, she was sure she was on the right track and thought again for a moment. "That's it!" she rejoiced as the crucial thought gave her. "We have to take the respective letter of the alphabets but have to start counting at the back. 1 is Z and not A." Alan had quickly understood her and started making notes and writing the alphabet on a sheet. He quickly solved the code and they knew where their next destination was.
Haley started cheering with him and was at least as happy as Alan. For the fact that there were only two (three) of them, they had solved the clues brilliantly and worked super together. "Yes! Great, let's go!" She didn't want to waste any time, maybe they would actually manage to reach the finish first but even if not, the two Gryffindors did a great job. But she would find out more soon in the Trophy Room.
She finished her little dance of joy and once again she made her way back to the castle as quickly as possible for her next Clue. Or was there even a next riddle? Haley had the feeling that her treasure hunt would soon be over and what better place to pick the winner than in the Trophy Room? Was this really the end already? Were they good on time? Would they be the first or maybe even the last? Haley couldn't guess and as much as she would like to win, it would be okay if they weren't first. She was having an amazing time today and the fact that there were only two of them and the other teams usually had more members gave them the right to be more than proud of their performance.
But no more speculation. They had to move on quickly, not lose any time. Either the next puzzle or the award ceremony was waiting for them. Haley became even more excited than she already was and only a few minutes lay between her and knowing if it was the end of the treasure hunt. She put her energy from her little dance of joy back into her legs but not for dancing, but for running. On what could have been the last few metres, she had to give it all she had and not lose sight of the goal.
