They were nearing the end now. The rush of excitement and surge of adrenaline with the approach of the finish line were almost palpable as the team rushed towards the quidditch pitch. From a distance, Evelynn watched as Aden took the lead, heading the charge to their oh-so-familiar second home at the school. The redhead paused, her gaze presumably directed towards the field rather than be drawn initially to the clue that waited there, tempting them to go for the grab. Evelynn couldn't fault her. The pitch had held a series of significant triumphs for them over the course of that year, and even she had to admit that a certain level of serenity and satisfaction washed over her even at her own approach. Lips pulled into a smile as the memory of their last hard-fought victory surfaced among her thoughts. Now that was a moment to remember, and one that would sit with her for some time to come. Her first quidditch cup.
But then was not the time to wander down memory lane. Even as she had reeled in her own train of thought, Aden seemed to do the same, shifting her gaze to the clue. Snatching it up, she pried free the card and read it to the team. Despite an initial confusion, gears turned and the pieces seemed to quickly fall into place. Only a moment would pass before she would triumphantly announce History of Magic. They were quick, the lot of them. Evelynn had thought her clues clever, but she had to acknowledge once again that perhaps her focus had been too set upon making the rhymes and rhythm work than the complexity of the content itself. Another moment to reflect for next time.
Soon enough the group was off again, racing back the way they'd come to head back for the castle's interior for their fifth clue. Their last clue. This one they would find waiting for them at the class for History of Magic. It would read:Team #1 — Clue #5Cups and plates all shiny bright
Locked away 'hind bar at night
Nostalgia's home; proof of ascension
A frequent place to serve detention.
OOC InformationReducioHow does the game work?
We spent a lot of time to create individual paths for every team. The goal of every team is to reach the final location and the team that gets there first wins. But as simply looking who posts there first would hardly be fair, we have thought of another way to determine, which team was the quickest (I will come to that in a second). I will supply every team with one clue at a time. Once you solved it, I will give you the next. You might find that some are easier than others, but I have given some difficult clues to every team, I don't doubt that there will be struggles at a certain point. In that case, you may ask for hints. For the sake of fairness, the Slytherins will have to ask Evelynn, the Gryffindors have to ask Opeila.
We will post a new thread for every single clue. Once those threads are up, you will have to post 700 words- as a team, multiple people together or one single person, I don't care- that include the solution of the riddle. The solution of the riddle is not always a location. You'll need to tell us the solution to the riddle we gave you- just saying a location that could as well be a good guess is not enough.
How is the time calculated?
We only count the time that you guys needed to figure out the riddle. The time between you solving one clue and us giving you the next, as well as the time between you asking for a hint and us replying will be substracted. Differences in timezones or a busy afternoon of a mod are not supposed to be the reason for a team to lose. But to motivate you to try your best with the clue before you ask us for hints, there is a penalty. For every hint you ask for, there will be 12 hours added to your total time as well as another 200 words to write after we give you the hint.
Also please write into every post what team you are in and your wordcount. Otherwise the calculations may take longer than necessary.
Enjoy and good luck!

Keen Eye / Lovely Creature
@Scarlett Aden | @Piérre Marchonné | @Katrina Walker | @Henry Knight | Loki
Permission given to godmod Loki by his fantastical owner: Henry Knight
Word Count: 800+
Rose gave a small smile. Apparently her suggestion had been actually good. She smirked a little. "You can be our mascot, Scarlett. We'll come up with the rest later." Scarlett was, no doubt, the most energetic of the four, and Rose appreciated that a lot.
Katrina had been quiet this whole time, which Rose didn't really mind. She hoped that the girl was okay and that she was having fun on their scavenger hunt- she deserved at least that. After all, this was all for fun.
Before they could leave the Quidditch Pitch, a tabby cat would join them. Rose recognized the cat as Loki, Henry Knight's cat. She had met the cat a few times before, as had Chaska. Chaska's joy at the sight of him was precious. She came towards him and rubbed her cheek against his, arching her back and letting her eyes flutter closed. He accepted it. Rose knew that Loki wasn't as affectionate or enthusiastic as Chaska was, which had always been okay with Chaska. "This is Loki, Henry's cat," Rose said with a smile, just in case her teammates didn't know who he was. Loki was a strange creature. Well, he was a cat, after all, and most cats were strange creatures. He was a little playful with Chaska, and most of the time naughty and clever. He had stolen a cookie once and given it to Chaska. Overall, their relationship was nothing less than... unique. "Are you here to spy on us?" she asked, smirking. Loki may have been smart, but he couldn't talk, and Rose was sure that he wasn't that communicative to Henry to be able to talk to humans. The orange feline looked up at her and blinked. It was almost as if he understood her. Almost. He rubbed against her legs and she knelt down to give him scratches behind his ears. He would accept any affection from any other person in the team if they wanted to give him attention, but would soon decide that he would need to get back to his own team. Him and Chaska exchanged a few playful bats at each other's heads and tails, dipping out of the way just in time before they were hit with each other's paws, and then he stepped back and meowed at the Lava Lions. "Bye, Loki!" Rose said, watching him bound Henry-wards. Sadly, it was a short encounter, but pleasant encounter anyway, but had it been any longer, they would have been wasting too much precious time. She smiled, but then they were off again. They couldn't dawdle or they would loose! Rose inwardly wondered if he had come to distract them so that his own team would win, but she quickly cast the thought aside. He was smart, but he wasn't that smart, was he? And no way Henry would ever do that. He was way too loyal. She was even surprised he was competing against her and Scarlett at all. She hoped he was doing well anyway. He had a brilliant mind and she was sure that he was doing an amazing job at figuring the riddles out.
Rose was a little bit lost on the next one, her gears turning. The only thing Rose's mind could think of was the library, but that didn't make sense, did it? They had already been there. They couldn't go there again, could they? Rose didn't think that the organizers would have enough time to put another clue in there while they were gone.
Chaska had trailed behind the group, with mostly uneventful actions. Rose scooped her into her arms, and Chaska took that as an invitation to put her front paws on Rose's shoulder and look around the place. She seemed to almost reach a paw out to Scarlett, kind of like how a baby reaches their arms out to somebody else that they want to hold them. Rose pulled her back in, though, as she didn't really want for the cat to bother Scarlett.
But, thankfully, Scarlett was able to crack the fourth clue. "That's amazing, Scarlett! Great job! Let's go!" They rushed off to the History of Magic Classroom together.
In the classroom, they found their fifth clue. "Here it is!" She said. Rose read it out loud to everyone, "Cups and plates all shiny bright, locked away 'hind bar at night, nostalgia's home; proof of ascension. A frequent place to serve detention." Her brow furrowed a little bit. "What?" Oh! "The trophy room!" She blurted. She blushed a little at her outburst, but then decided that the scavenger hunt was, for the moment, more important than her pride or her anxiety, whichever one was embarrassed about her blurting out the answer. "It makes sense, doesn't it? Like, there are cups in the trophy room and nostalgia and they're in cases! It- right?" She had a little jittery feeling- a feeling that they were so so very close to victory. They had to win this. "Come on!"
