The abundance of thematic clues seemed to have given this one away. It occurred to Evelynn as she watched the group discussing the possible meanings of the teaset and tassomancy, that perhaps she might have done better using a set up like this as a clue for something entirely unrelated. Like Quidditch. Or perhaps Care of Magical creatures. She also couldn't entirely deny the disappointment she had when the final part of the previous clue—"the next clue must be unchanged"—had been initially forgotten. She'd hoped perhaps they might have come charging in, prepared to untransfigure whatever awaited them and easily obtain a another morsel to help them on their way.
Alas, they clearly didn't need it. The words and the teapot had done enough all on their own to guide the young minds in the right direction. Divination it was, indeed, and they would be swift to leave this area in search of the stairs that would lead them up, up, up to the top of the north tower where the third year elective classroom awaited them. They weren't the only ones there, either. Nearby, they might have gleaned that they weren't the only ones in the area. A handful of slytherin students lingered about as well, their heads together conspiratorially before departing. In their wake, however, an envelope would be left taped to the wall. Inside, the card would read:Team #2 — Clue #4The source domain of season and spice
Rocks in here are a deadly device
Say farewell to the moon, hello to the sun
You'd best be prepared for what's to come
OOC InformationReducioHow does the game work?
We spent a lot of time to create individual paths for every team. The goal of every team is to reach the final location and the team that gets there first wins. But as simply looking who posts there first would hardly be fair, we have thought of another way to determine, which team was the quickest (I will come to that in a second). I will supply every team with one clue at a time. Once you solved it, I will give you the next. You might find that some are easier than others, but I have given some difficult clues to every team, I don't doubt that there will be struggles at a certain point. In that case, you may ask for hints. For the sake of fairness, the Slytherins will have to ask Evelynn, the Gryffindors have to ask Opeila.
We will post a new thread for every single clue. Once those threads are up, you will have to post 700 words- as a team, multiple people together or one single person, I don't care- that include the solution of the riddle. The solution of the riddle is not always a location. You'll need to tell us the solution to the riddle we gave you- just saying a location that could as well be a good guess is not enough.
How is the time calculated?
We only count the time that you guys needed to figure out the riddle. The time between you solving one clue and us giving you the next, as well as the time between you asking for a hint and us replying will be substracted. Differences in timezones or a busy afternoon of a mod are not supposed to be the reason for a team to lose. But to motivate you to try your best with the clue before you ask us for hints, there is a penalty. For every hint you ask for, there will be 12 hours added to your total time as well as another 200 words to write after we give you the hint.
Also please write into every post what team you are in and your wordcount. Otherwise the calculations may take longer than necessary.
Enjoy and good luck!

@Gia Adelard @Calanthe Choi @Alan VanesThe last clue was not easy for Haley and she was still not sure if it was really right but she could only hope. They had no other option and neither of them could think of anything else, so the team headed for the North Tower to find out if they were right in their guess. But she was hopeful, after all Alan's guess was the same and what were the chances that they were on the wrong track or had misunderstood the clue? Low. Hopefully.
Divination isn't taught until third year and since she was still in her first, she had never entered the classroom there. The whole treasure hunt was a wild back and forth today at Hogwarts, but it was incredibly fun. After all, she was even learning new things today and all the riddle solving and wanting to be quick to get to the finish line first just activated Haley's game mode and the ambition was clearly written all over her face. Luckily for her though, her small team was similarly minded to her and she didn't have to pull anyone behind her or motivate them.
So now the team ran back out of the classroom towards the North Tower. On the way she kept her eyes open for other teams, maybe she could find out something about how far the others were. However, she quickly realised that they should concentrate on running at her pace, otherwise she would bump into everything and everyone, so she only focused on the things that were standing immediately in front of her in her path. Without further collisions and in quick steps, she continued to run through the castle. Please be right, please be right - was the only thing she could think of.
When they finally arrived at their destination, she noticed a group of Slytherins. They were clearly involved in the treasure hunt as well, and therefore also her opponents. Haley was annoyed that they were here before them and the ambition in her rose even higher, if that was even possible. Crap. They really needed to hurry now to catch up.
They didn't have to look for the next message, the envelope was stuck right by the door and Haley reached for it and quickly skimmed the next clue.
BINGO. A big smile formed on Haley's lips, she knew immediately where her next target was, this was her field and now she could finally solve another riddle quickly. She was very pleased with her success and looked to Alan, "I know where to go." She held out the sheet of parchment for him to read through the words as well, but it was crystal clear to Haley.
The origin of season and spice was in plants. Plants can't grow on stone or be rock mashed in processing. A deadly device. They grow towards the sun, practically they praise the sun. And last but not least, they can also be difficult to handle and dangerous, so be prepared.
It all made sense to her when she first read it, but maybe just because she was such a nature kid and loved plants and creatures.
"We need to go to Herbology." She added now to complete her statement. No question about it, that was her correct destination. She hoped Alan realised that too, or at least trusted her for that reason. She was so sure that she wouldn't have gone for any other option and probably would have started discussing it with him here and now.
"We should definitely hurry. The Slytherins just were ahead of us and if we're fast enough, we might catch up with them." She didn't know if they did the clues in an equal order, but she wanted to assume the worst and end up wrong than the other way around.
But no further discussion was necessary. Haley took the envelope and attached it to the door. "Let's go." She laughed now before starting to run back down the tower together with Alan to make her way out of the castle to their next destination and their next clue. She could feel the adrenaline rising in her, surely there weren't too many clues left and they had to give it their all now to make up as much time as they could.Word Count: 720
