The Godess of Battle
The ginger haired boy walked into the shop, followed by his aunt, who was already expecting Aldor to go crazy as he watched all the pets that were available. With widened eyes, he observed the many wonderful things around him, adorable little creatures of different sizes and colors, and today, one of them was going to be his new friend.
Aldor had always been too shy to make long lasting friendships, but today was different, he would take someone new home, and love them forever and ever, or at least that's what a fan of fairy tales would say, Aldor was more confused than he was determined. With a shy smile, he greeted the kind couple who owned the shop, they must be the single most wonderfully lucky people that had ever existed, running a shop of pets for wizards was surely not an easy job, but at the very least, being rewarded with the smile of happy students who just got a new friend was probably quite heartwarming.
The boy spent a while looking around and looking at the little beings that were in place, beings that would hopefully be chosen by a loving owner that would make sure of bringing joy to their brand new adorable little friend. He wasn't sure about what he wanted to pick, a cat? It would probably be cute, but he was most likely not going to be thrilled of having a pet that enjoys wandering off on its own.
Toads? They were nice, but he wasn't sure that it was exactly sure if he wanted one.
What about an owl? Well, they were adorable little balls of feathers, but he wasn't sure if he was going to be allowed to bring a big owl into any place he wished.
And then, it hit him, his eyes locked with a little gray creature that scurried around, with its little delicate limbs and pink ears, a gray rat that looked like the single most perfect pet he could think of, even though there were also a few spiders that seemed interesting. Most students would probably think twice, after all, there were all sorts of creatures that were waiting to be adoted by a new owner, there were even Pymy Puffs, but Aldor couldn't help but feel a strange connection with the fuzzy rodent that watched him in a cautios way.
He approached the shop keepers and with a quiet voice he spoke.
''I-I would like to buy that gray rat over there, would that be possible?-''
The kind man nodded, and being to speak with a sweet voice, as Aldor expected, these people were special, they probably really loved their job.
''She can be at bit cranky at times, but I am sure she will be very happy with you. It would be 5 galleons.''
The boy dug in his pocket taking out the amount that the man had said and gently gave it to him.
''Now now, what will you name her?''
Aldor's eyes shined with excitement as he could only think of the best name that a little gray rat could have, just like the most amazing goddess in norse mythology. . .
''Freyja!-''
