Appearance: Dana is a pretty girl, there's no doubt about that. Her face, oval-shaped, is a warm, tan colour, her eyes are olive green, and her hair is golden-yellow in the sunlight. She looks young for her 12 years, but is sturdily built. It is also easy to see that she spends much time outdoors, her skin is weathered and freckled, and the scar running down the length of her arm tells of a story from the past. Her nose is stubby and small, but turns up slightly at the end, and is wider than the norm. Dana wears comfortable clothes, hoodies and shorts most of the time, but does take care when picking her outfits, especially if the occasion is important, so she always looks nice. Personality: Dana is a friendly girl, willing to talk and have a chat with mostly everyone she meets. This, combined with her joking, easy-going nature has made her quite popular at school. She does alright in class, but would prefer to plan an outing with her friends for the weekend than actually do the work, and often starts to play a game with her friends when she's meant to be doing homework. Dana loves autumn, swimming, and people who make her laugh, but absolutely despises lazy and slow people. While she doesn't hate quiet people, Dana finds them tiresome to be around, and probably wouldn't seek them out again. She tries to be polite, and respectful, and use her manners, but Dana is forgetful and absentminded at times, so this proves a challenge, and she can often come across as stupid and rude.
History: Dana lives in a middle class family on the outskirts of New York City, in a nice house, with her older brother, Sebastian, an intelligent boy who is constantly outshining his little sister in everything he does, and her father, William, an understanding man with big hands who grew up in the Netherlands, and moved to the United States when he was 20 years old. There, he met Natalie, a young woman with blonde hair from the south who loved a good drink, maybe a bit too much. The two fell in love, and married soon after Natalie became pregnant. After giving birth to their first child, Sebastian, they then had another a year later, and named their daughter Dana. Alas, only a couple of months after Dana was born, Natalie fell ill, and died from a disease in her liver. Most blame this on Natalie's binge drinking after Dana was born (she hadn't had any during her pregnant, and missed a good beer or two). Apart from this, Dana had a reasonably normal childhood. Since she never knew her mother, her death didn't have a profound effect on her, and Dana grew up to be a happy, sociable child, who loved her brother to death, even though he annoyed her to no end, and adored her father, who she believed to be the greatest man in the world.

Being a pureblood, but only second year you might not have noticed too many strange occurrences. Yeah, the mixed heritage and the muggle-borns seem to get a bit of extra attention, but it is not like you have been excluded... simply not as sought after for "additional cultural opportunities." Still, due to the unhappy and sad circumstances at home, the distraction of these "cultural opportunities" might be welcomed. Still, your participation in any of these diversionary activities might seem odd -- those that participate hardly represent Ilvermorny's wizard population. Most of the students in the school are either pureblood or wizard born, but in this activity (like many activities) it is the muggle-borns and the mixed breeds that seem to occupy these roles. It is not a great feeling feeling as if you are a "diversity hire" even if nobody said those exact words.
