At least there was somewhere isolated in Hogwarts where she could take her mind of her assignments and rest. All she could hear were the hoots of the owls. They weren’t noisy at all, in fact, the hoots calmed her.

She was curled up on the ledge near a tall window. She looked down, any moment, if she were to lean back a little, she would fall to her doom. She didn’t understand why they had to make the windows so wide and tall that it could easily pass for a doorway. She wasn’t that clumsy to fall and didn’t bother to move to a safer place to sketch. The view was spectacular, she could see everyone playing on the grass below her. She had a birds eyeview of almost the whole of Hogwarts. Though it took quite a lot of effort to get to where she was. The cool spring wind blew she inhaled. This was just the therapy she needed, peace and a little bit of nature doing it’s job.

She carefully dragged her pencil across the paper on her lap. She was sketching one of the owls that was perched on the bathing bowl sipping the water.

Aurelia heard the door creak open. She looked up and saw a blond haired girl walk in. “Um, hello,”

Ava was headed towards the Owlery to write to her father and ugh, her mother. As she was walking up she had the same thought. Why do I have to write to that monster? Because she would come here and force me to. Why couldn’t dad be the wizard and not mom? She sighed. I miss dad. I can’t wait until I see him.

As she walked into the room she saw a girl drawing one of the owls. Ava walked in carefully to avoid startling the owls. She heard the girl say hello and stood there awkwardly for a minute before realizing she should reply. Oh! Hello! she looked around the room. Aww the owls are so cute. I wish mom would let me buy my own owl. she thought. Then she realized she spoke outloud and turned bright red.

Finally she decided to start writing the letters while introducing herself to the other girl. My name is Ava. What’s yours? she waited for a reply. I hope the girl isn’t mean. That would be bad. I think I’m done with my letter for mother. It looks like i’m Applying for a job. At 11. At least I can write what I want to with dad.

(OOC: I just realized how bad that pink is... i’ll change it. To a darker shade from now on.)

Ava Sharpee
You are amazing. Others may say different but what do they know? They don't know you.

Oh! Hello!
Aurelia smiled as the girl approached her, she was almost done with her sketch and could use some company.

Goedemorgen” she greeted in Dutch.
My name is Ava. What’s yours?
The blond haired girl asked.

Aurelia Bezuidenhout. Nice to meet you.” She replied. Her gaze then move to the envelope she clutched in her hand.

“Are you here to send an owl to someone?” She asked. She new the answer and was just trying to be friendly. She had gotten off the wrong foot with a few people in Hogwarts and she didn’t want to accidentally ruin a potential relationship.

Where’s that accent from? I’m guessing it’s Irish. I’ve never been to Ireland, I heard it was a beautiful place.” she started, trying to keep the conversation going even though she never heard anything about Ireland before. She hope she guessed right as it would be extremely embarrassing if she didn’t. She had a lot of friends say she was French as her name was commonly used in France. She disliked them assuming that, because she was from England. She didn’t blame them. Her Ma and Pa were from Germany and Netherlands respectively, therefore, she herself though that her accent was unique and hard to infer that that it was English. She also spoke Dutch, so it was quite impossible to tell where she came from just by looking at her.

She stood up and stepped towards the bathing bowl. Her hand reached out to stroke the cheek of the owl perch on its rim. It was brown with freckled feathers and was quite plump.

This is the owl I often use to send my letters to my parents in England. I think he’s the fastest of them all, and the friendliest in fact, the others would attempt to bite me if I ever got to close to them.
