In her first year, Violet had been unable to buy a pet, since her interest was nonexistent in any of the animals that were in magical menagerie. She had to force herself to tell her mother that none of the pets in the store were touching to her, not even the cats that she absolutely loved. Her mother was disappointed, but glad that she wasn't going to spend her money on a animal, so the Slytherin left to her first year of Hogwarts without any animal's company.

Summer vacation finally came, July was starting to leave for August to come in and Violet was going back home after a hectic year. She rolled her eyes when her mother told her that she had to go back home with a pet to keep her company, since she was going to ''be lonely'' alone in that manor doing nothing but study for the rest of the summer. Nodding in assent, and rolling her eyes behind her mother's back, they went once more to magical menagerie.

Violet looked around at the shop that was full of dirty, clean, and too-floofy animals, as her mum went to talk with the shop owner. Probably to ask her if there was any cool pets for Violet. Fantastic. With a bored face, Violet looked around the shop, looking at the animals, the insects, every pet that were up for sell. The first pet she went to see were the owls. Her father had told her that these were very useful, and that he thught that it would be a good desicion to buy one. Well, none of them were really as cool as her dad told her, so Violet left the feathery birds for a 2nd option.

Turning away from the owls, she went to look at the lizards and rats. Rats were definitely a no, and the lizards attracted here, but they were too....pricey for such a small pet. They would eventually scurry away once she gets them home, and very possibly one of the maids at the manor would step on it for sure. Nope!

After lookin g at the lizards, Violet turned around and saw the spiders. She jumped as she saw their 8 legs, and knowing that she suffered from aracnophobia, it was sure that the slytherin was not going to take a spider as a pet. No again! But then, she saw the frogs. Ignoring the cats that were meowing and purring at her side, she went to see them, the toads were the ones that piqued her attention. For some reason, they were mesmerizing to Violet, the croacks were too cool to be true. In te mind of the twelve year old, those frogs were her choice, one hundred percent.

When she told her mother that she wanted that Natterjack frog that was croacking singing, she looked at her daughter with a stunned face. However, she agreed on buying the frog, and Violet went off with Ollie the frog to her Glasgow Manor.
