backdated to october 20th 2020────── ☆ ───────@Henry KnightCoffee was bitter and disgusting but it had kept her awake to put her prank into action.
Scarlett had slipped quietly out of the common room, hoping the Fat Lady was asleep. She drained her horrible, caffeine-full double espresso and was now locating a suitable classroom to become her next victim. She stuck to the shadows, an Ever-Bashing Boomerang in her hands. The prank was a simple one in theory, but would cause a lot of chaos the next day - exactly her aim. Also, it had just turned midnight. They were in November now, and what could be a better way to start the year than with a prank? Her 'mischief mojo' had dulled slightly at Hogwarts, because now there were teachers and prefects and all kinds of boring rule enforcers, but she was determined to get some of it back.
She arrived at a random classroom, gripping the boomerang tightly to make sure it didn't escape and ruin her idea. Scarlett hoped it wasn't unused - she would have to check. Glancing down at her boomerang, she grasped the door handle of the classroom, poised to open it just to see if it was used or not. Then, if it looked used, she would throw the boomerang in and shut the door as quick as she could without making noise. Ever-Bashing Boomerangs were charmed to keep on ricocheting back to the person who had thrown it, so if Scarlett shut the door, it would have no choice but to bang around the classroom chaotically, making it hard to stop for the people arriving to do their lessons the next day.
Scarlett grinned. She prepared to set her plan into motion.────── ☆ ───────

Bonding Over A Boomerang
There was still two hours before the curfew was lifted when the slytherin boy was getting ready in his bunk room.
He laid some treats for his orange kitten; Loki at the foot of his bed where the feline sat and pulled his backpack over his shoulder and waited for a bit before adventuring out. Henry wasn't in his uniform that day and wasn't necessary bothered by the fact, he was still a good student and if he earned a detention because of his uniform then he did.
Henry wood quietly slip out from his bunk room and snape dormitory at 30 minutes to 7 deciding it would be the best to leave so avoid others. There was barley a week left to the next full moon and Henry was feeling it already as well as having strange thoughts that something bad might happen on the 31st.
The boy would slip quietly from his common room and make his down through the dungeons, he didn't appear that bad yet probably the affects would set in once it was closer to the 31st.
The young werewolf did have bags under his eyes and to anyone that knew him well, family and close/childhood friend who he grew up with could see that his tan skin appeared almost pale.
Henry was climbing the stairs as he turned and started to walk through the corridors but came to a sudden halt, letting the scenes hit his nose when a distantly familiar one came to him.
It took a few minutes for the young boy to recognize it since he haven't smell it in a while but after a while he knew the scent.
It was Scarlett Aden
If her scent was present in that corridor, that meant she was to even if Henry didn't see her. He placed his barrier up to hide away all his emotions and looked around the corridor curious if anyone else was there before he while continue walking. For the moment he remained still.

speech #bf0040────── ☆ ───────@Henry KnightHer hand was clenched tightly over her boomerang, as if to quell the energy of a disobedient child. She was almost prepared to thrust open the door and fling in the boomerang when she heard footsteps. Scarlett froze, her mind whirring with possibilities. A student? A professor? A cat? Whatever or whoever it was, what should she do? Should she throw the boomerang in and run? Or turn to face the owner of the mysterious footsteps? Scarlett steeled herself - she was prideful and stubborn, and she didn't run, even if it was entirely sensible to.
Scarlett whirled round to meet the person, and all of the breath seemed to escape through her lungs. It was the one person she hadn't expected to meet. The one person she didn't want to meet. Henry Knight.
A flurry of emotions danced through her mind. The two of them hadn't met since their angsty interaction in the first stage of duels. They used to be childhood friends, and met under an oak tree. The event stood out in her mind, especially when she re-united with him again back in her first year. Henry and his sister Annabeth had moved to Liverpool and Scarlett had never forgotten how abandoned she had felt, even though she had the Troop. The Troop suffered another blow, as when Anna left, they lost another Trooper. Unbeknownst to them at the time, Cassie would be moving to France soon, adding salt to the wound.
But never mind all of that exposition. After they had fought (well, Scarlett had fought) in their first year reunion, she had sworn to be only cruel towards him. And she wouldn't be breaking that promise anytime soon.
"Couldn't sleep, widdle Henry-kins?" sneered Scarlett. It was late though, and anyone could tell she didn't put a lot of effort into her words. "Your furry little problem bothering you again?"────── ☆ ───────

Bonding Over A Boomerang
The voice.
The words.
They were female yet distant
More importantly it was standing in front of him. Scarlett Aden was standing in front of him holding a fanged frisbee apparently for some reason.
There was once a time where Henry cared about Scarlett's opinions and sought to gain her trust and approval. For so long he blamed himself for leaving her in Godric Hollow. He blamed himself for leaving his first friend. For the longest time he thought it was his fault and would tell her all of this when they would meet next.
Unfortunately their next meeting after he left wasn't what he imagine. It involved a fight of sorts between the two, Scarlett screamed and Henry broke down. In conclusions the two weren't on the best foot at the moment and apparently ended their friendship as well.
That was in the end of first year. It had been a whole summer since he last set eyes on the red head with a mischievous spark in her eyes. Their first meet up was at the dueling spectator and that didn't turn out well for the two.
Now they were alone. No authority around to catch any rule breaking. No friends around to distract him from the girl he faced. And more importantly no witnesses for what may occur that morning.
Henry heard her words and wasn't entirely bothered by them. He was used to bullying since before Hogwarts however the comment about him being a werewolf hurt a bit, comments about his condition always did hurt especially when they came from people he care about. Correction from people he cared about, past tensed unless...
His backpack hung from his right shoulder as he looked Scarlett over for a moment, her scene filling his nose as he was debating if he should just walked away or reply back to her. Fueling the interaction.
"First you follow me and now your concern for my well being, this is quite bizarre for you Scar," Henry replied smoothly without a fraction of his normal smile usually shown on his face and the rest of his emotions hidden behind a barrier. Giving him a emotionless appearance.
"Are you planning to use that," Henry spoke gesturing toward the fanged frisbee with a nod of his head before continuing with a small grin, " Well perhaps you shouldn't try it on a accomplished duelist who knows quite a bit of spells," alright so perhaps Henry was a bit afraid of Scarlett. Afraid that she'll threw the fanged frisbee at him or something else... after all he could never tell what she was planning or what she would do when they were younger. Nothing made a difference now except now she had a fanged frisbee and probably knew a few jinxes.

speech #bf0040────── ☆ ───────@Henry KnightMerlin, this had got to be the most awkward and most tense interaction she had ever had, with some comedic relief thrown in what with Scarlett's crouching position and potential weapon in her hands. In a last-ditch effort to regain some sort of dignity to the situation, she straightened up, keeping a firm hand on the boomerang at all times. She turned to glare at Henry. If he thought that a 'cool down' period between the two of them changed anything, he was sorely mistaken.
A more observable person would've noticed the shift in dynamic between the pair. When they were younger, it had mainly been Scarlett shining brightly if not over-enthusiastically, and Henry willingly tagging along, always rather quiet, always rather shy. Now, the energy appeared to have leaked from Scarlett's demeanour, considering her age and the fact that it was midnight. Henry also seemed to have a stronger, more mature presence, as if he wasn't in a confident extrovert's shadow anymore. Scarlett couldn't help but wonder - if they went back to who they were before, would it just make all the progress Scarlett and Henry had separately made on themselves in vain?
That certainly added to the tension. What added to the awkwardness of the moment, now that Scarlett wasn't in a weird position, was that Scarlett spent most of their limited Hogwarts conversations yelling and hissing at him like some deranged animal. A small part of her nagged her to stop, to change. The small part told her that any sensible, decent person would stop and at least think about having some form of a conscience. But from what she could tell, Scarlett wasn't decent, by her actions and words and thoughts. It gave her an uncomfortable feeling whenever she insulted someone, but in the heat of the moment, that uncomfortable feeling was always overpowered by the fact that she was angry, and when she was angry, she yelled.
Or at least made a cutting remark, in the current case.
"Follow?" scoffed Scarlett incredulously. "You're the one who showed up at midnight on this corridor. I was here first." She said it in a way that an angry child might claim their seat at the drawing table at nursery. Scarlett then continued scathingly. "And we both very well know that neither of us are concerned about the other's wellbeing. I have other friends whose wellbeing I need to care about. Do you? Or are you still the - what was it? Lonely Knight? Friendless Knight? Or was it an attempt to be cool, Mister Lone Wolf?"
At Henry's next words, Scarlett almost burst into cackles right then and there. But, since they could both get caught, she bit her lip and held down the laughter. She was that nice, yes. A paragon of compassion. "You should hear yourself," wheezed Scarlett. "'Accomplished duellist' my ass. You've done like one duel." Fair enough, Scarlett had only played one Quidditch game. But she wasn't going round calling herself an accomplished Quidditch player, was she? (she was)
"As a matter of fact, I know spells as well. Even the smallest, newest, most pathetic first year knows spells. So I daresay that isn't much of an achievement," she retaliated. Scarlett glanced at her boomerang, answering Henry's next question. "And I am going to use my boomerang." She placed her hand on the doorknob. "To play a prank."────── ☆ ───────

Bonding Over A Boomerang
The blue eyed boy cast a gaze a on the red head. His eyes were focused on her and it was creating almost a mature look about him but there was also a mischievous gleam in the blueness of his eye.
It was a awkward situation. Two childhood friends once close and knew majority about each other now both grown into their individual. Would they ever go back to how things were between? Would they ever find themselves close to another like they were when they were children? What does the future hold for these two.
As Henry stared at Scarlett fleeting memories came back to him. A small smile became present on his lips, the only sign of emotion that could be seen since the rest remained hidden behind his 'barrier'.
Henry remembered back in Godric Hollow how Scarlett would excitedly or hyper actively join in on actives or cause mischief and Henry was getting dragged in right behind her. She was a extrovert fully and he was a introvert, we everyone introvert needs a extrovert and for all those years Scarlett was his extrovert and he was her introvert. They were the opposite but made a good team. A good pair. A good friendship.
Henry remembered summer days getting a scoop of ice cream with Scarlett as kids, seeing who could get the biggest brain freeze. Playing basketball or futball with Scarlett in the towns center with the troopers. Escaping to the forests edge with the girl before they were tweens and racing through the fields.
Henry stared at Scarlett. It was hard to imagine how far they came from the past years. Henry let a small smile show on his face as he remembered they use to quote lines from their favorite bands and told jokes that no one else but them understood. He remembered how they would talk for hours, about anything most days.
Henry remembered the tree they climbed and looked out at the view together. The tree where they first met. Henry remembered how those days, those memories were perfect. They were framed as perfect days in his mind. Scarlett was the perfect friend. But now. Now here they are staring at each other, with a friendship that seemed so far from them.
Scarlett's voice ringing in his ear. A memory of her laughter back in godric hollow. Henry kept his emotions hidden, the smiling faded away as he stared at the girl he once called a friend and calmly replied" fine, I guess no one was following anyone. I was heading to the library, to get a start on my studies but why are you here? Lurking around a corridor now Scarlett," Henry was actually curious with why the girl was there and he figured he couldn't just ask her since she might not tell him but if he tricked her into telling him by suggesting something else then maybe he could get his answer.
The thing about childhood friends was they knew almost everything about each other. Henry remained calm as he listened to Scarlett's words but inside they cut deep, the girl knew extractly how to get to him. Scarlett was one of the only people who knew him before the accident, before he became a werewolf.
"If I wanted to be Mister Cool Lone Wolf then I would have left or hex you by now but I didn't," Henry spoke calmly and didn't want to admit it but he did actually still care about Scarlett's well being. They may not have been on good terms and every conversation so far ended in awkwardness but that didn't change the fact that Henry Knight was loyal and he would always be concerned for the ones he cared about. Scarlett Aden was someone he couldn't help but be concern for her well being and would still stand behind her even if he doesn't show it.
"Anyway I do have other friends to whose wellbeing I care about to," Henry spoke calmly since now he could say that. He has friends. Friends that he didn't meet at godric hollow or were introduced to by his friend or parents. He actually met and had friends that year something that the boy was a bit proud of himself for.
Henry heard her laughter and technically he should have picked better words since he didn't even see himself as a accomplished duelist. He saw himself more of a failure than anything else but he had to say something so he did. Henry folded his arms across his chest, blue eyes gilding over Scarlett as he calmly spoke" I'm always up to duel you if you want to test each other's skills," Henry thought a duel might be the best way to test each other's skills but also show the red head that he was a good duelist. Maybe not the greatest or accomplished but a good one nevertheless.
"I figured you know spells but know any third year ones? The Summoning charm is my favorite so far," Henry replied glad that he stayed behind in charms classes to learn next years spells for moments like these however his friends next words would distract him from any further rebuttal.
"A prank with a ever bashing boomerang sounds intriguing," Henry replied with a smile that he would keep on his face as he decided to take a few steps closer to Scarlett so he was next to the door she was about to open as he spoke" that wasn't a compliment," Henry would peer slightly at the door as he asked" whose the target for the prank?"

speech #bf0040────── ☆ ───────@Henry KnightHenry smiled. A small smile, but it was still a smile. A smile on his otherwise emotionless face. Scarlett felt a sudden anger bubbling inside her, a sudden urge to lash out at him once again. It was so unfair that Henry could maintain such a neutral demeanour with a hint of a smile at this time, in this situation, when Scarlett could barely keep her frustration together. The two of them both had things they excelled at, but it was severely annoying that Scarlett got the short end of the 'showing emotion' stick. Maybe if she could hide her emotions, none of this would have happened. None of the drama in her life would've happened - none of the fights, none of the ranting, none of separation. But no, she just had to be born short-tempered and easy to read, didn't she?
Perhaps that was what made them so compatible. Henry would help Scarlett in cooling down and blowing off some of her inner rage, and in return, Scarlett would help Henry out of his shell in order to make friends and show a little more joy in life. But that was before. That was when they still had each other's backs, when they were still 'Scarlett and Henry, the inseparable duo', when they were children. Now, they no longer were there for each other. Scarlett would've liked to say that her anger problems improved over the years that Henry had been gone - but in reality, they really hadn't. She was worse than ever, fighting bloody older-years in public spaces and attacking countless people, countless things.
Sometimes, Scarlett wondered what made people want to be friends with her in the first place. Those naturally drawn to destruction weren't people you would like to befriend.
Did Henry know he was talking with someone brewing with rage and frustration, back when they were kids? Did he know he was eating ice-cream with someone who got into violent fights? Did he know he was running through wheat fields with someone who knocked people unconscious with heavy iron balls, for sport?
"What's the big deal about hexing?" scathed Scarlett, fiercely shoving her thoughts into a mental box marked 'think later'. "It's just a few pathetic spells." Honestly, that was all she could muster right now. It was getting late, and whilst Scarlett wasn't exactly an early bird, she definitely wasn't a night owl either. She needed her beauty sleep.
Henry's next statement stung a little, but Scarlett chastised herself. He has other friends, she thought. So what? I have other friends. That's nothing to get worked up upon. She then raised her eyebrows in surprise at Henry's suggestion. "A duel?" said Scarlett. "I'd be happy to comply. I could take you any day and win. I know the Summoning Charm as well, for your information."
Finally, Scarlett couldn't help with perk up a little at Henry's interest in the prank - it was in her nature after all. "Well," said Scarlett, a traitorous sliver of excitement leaking into her words. "I'm going to open the door, throw in the boomerang and close the door, so when the teacher next opens the door, they'll get a nasty surprise."
She thought for a moment. "As a matter of fact, this prank will be easier with two. Open and close the door silently, if you please, and give me time to throw this boomerang in."────── ☆ ───────

Bonding Over A Boomerang
Blue eyes glance at Scarlett. Her red hair seemed to compliment her short temper nature.
It was a odd sight if someone were to pass the two in the corridor at that exact moment. One with blue eyes shown no emotion except fit a small smile and the one with fire like red hair shown emotion far more than a simple smile.
Some would say the two are opposites and they weren't compatible. That it wasn't a surprise that they had a falling out seeing how different they are.
Except Henry thought their differences is what made them so close to begin with.
Back in godric hollow, before Hogwarts. Henry was a introvert that loved reading and learning and Scarlett was a extrovert who seemed always up to have fun and cause mischief. They balanced each other out. Henry was the calm and Scarlett the chaos. They were like ying yang. A balance of both sides. That was perhaps what made them such a good pair in the past.
However memories were in the past and now standing in that corridors staring at Scarlett. The two no longer had each others back or casually chatted on a sunny, windy day. There was another emotion present at that meeting.
"You knocked someone unconscious to embarrass them with a single spell," Henry calmly replied with his arms loosely crossed over his chest to Scarlett's words. The young lad was started to like spells and could be seen reading and learning about them more often now. Now that he joined the dueling team and seem to have found a liking in the sport.
"What's the point with quidditch, " Henry mimicked Scarlett's question about dueling rather calmly. The young lad was certain that he wouldn't let the girl get under his skin, not today and not ever. He would remain calm and use his words smartly and not with emotion or rage like others do.
Henry noticed the girl skipped over the statements on friends and decided to also. Throughout their meeting that day, the boy had actually never said he didn't consider Scarlett a friend nor did he say that he didn't care for her well being. Perhaps even after a fight and another year apart the boy still did care for her and wanted to reconnect. To be friends again and chat like the old days if that even possible still since both changed throughout the years apart.
"You shouldn't sound to confident, perhaps stick to what your good age which is quidditch. Since I'll probably best you at a duel, just name your day," Henry replied with a smile as he let in slip a subtle hint that he seen her play and perhaps even cheer her on. Even through they had a falling out and he had a rather close friend on the slytherin team who also played beater that could also use the cheering.
With their previous conversation brought to a close, Henry took a few steps further to Scarlett. Standing next to the door she was at as he listened to her explanation and smile a little since he couldn't help but be interested by this prank.
"Sounds intriguing and like a thought out prank," Henry noted not meaning to compliment the prank or the red head but would also add" maybe the target should be a student instead to decease your chances of a detention," Henry suggested since targeting a professor would likely lead to a detention but targeting a fellow student would at least give them... her a chance to get away.
"It would and also a second pair of eyes to be on the lookout for a professor or prefect," Henry added as he pulled his bag over his shoulders and moved to the door. Placing on hand on the knob and the other on the door, his eyes would gaze over to Scarlett as he asked softly" ready?"

speech #bf0040────── ☆ ───────@Henry KnightShe could argue about the most pointless of things, debate flighty opinionated subjects and shout her views on random topics of no weight, all to avoid confronting the real issue. It was an unhealthy habit she had developed as a child that she had never learnt how to let go of. Distraction. Shoving important problems that needed to be resolved to the back of her mind, in favour of something else, anything else. Forgetting about those important problems until they were staring her in the face, no way out, no way to distract.
The situation she was in currently reminded Scarlett of this habit. She had met up with a beloved childhood friend, a rift the size of an ocean between them, and here they were talking about Quidditch versus Duelling? It was dumb - even though Quidditch was obviously the correct answer - but Scarlett would take any conversation topic rather than address the gaping hole in their friendship that needed to be fixed. "Wow, fun, yelling a Latin word on a stage, indoors, and getting hit by a bunch of bogies," deadpanned Scarlett, folding her arms. "Meanwhile, I'm in the rain, playing a game that requires both strategy and athleticism with a crowd. A game that's actually popular in the wizarding world."
And then Henry proceeded to give her a compliment, laced with an insult? How dare he! Scarlett was a very competent spellcaster mind you - she just didn't practice it as much as she had done in her first year. Her mother and her ancestors had all been competent spellcasters as well, which was all part of the reason Scarlett had decided not to go down that path. She was pure-blooded as well, and magic didn't excite her as much as it did Muggleborns. She had seen spells and wands her entire life - it was nothing new or intriguing to be explored.
"Fine! I'll show you. I can beat you in a duel," she huffed, shooting an extra glare at Henry. "You name the time and place. I'm that nice."
"And of course it's an intriguing and well-thought prank!" She practically exploded at his next remark. Pranking was something she didn't mess around with, even though that was the whole point of pranking - to mess around. "I'm Scarlett Aden for Merlin's sake, do you think you'd see me creeping around with a Dungbomb?" Whilst Scarlett admitted Dungbombs were a fun little pranking tool, they were so basic, and so cliché.
"And technically I'm targeting the entire class," she added afterwards. Slightly glad Henry had agreed, Scarlett counted down. "Three, two, one-"────── ☆ ───────

Bonding Over A Boomerang
Was he having fun? Perhaps. Was he going to admit that to Scarlett? No, definitely not.
Henry Knight while he didn't want to admit it to himself or Scarlett Aden, was actually having fun standing in the corridor about to pull a prank with the girl whole having mindless debates about the silliest of topics.
It was strange, even after their huge fight at the end of last year which left a reasonable size hole in the middle of their friendship. They could still have mindless and humorous debates about any type of topic. It felt strange talking and being with the red head again but also comforting, it felt almost normal to the boy. It was comforting and rather relaxing, it strangely reminded him who he was before Hogwarts. Before the attack.
The debate of the night.
Dueling or Quidditch.
Quidditch up first
The gryffindor beater was for quidditch and made her points. Saying that dueling only included shouting Latin words and getting hit with a bunch of bogies. The beater was went on to say that quidditch dealt with strategy and athleticism in the rain and is popular in the wizarding world.
Now duelings turn
The duelist for the Viridian Vipers smiled at the red head, took a moment to maul over his words. Deciding what to say and what to start off with his arguement on dueling was better than quidditch. Finally he was ready, looking at the girl in the eyes as he smiled ready to stare his points.
"Sounds like I'm missing so much, flying in the rain on a broomstick that one can fall off and toward the ground risk breaking bones. Quidditch is a team effort but requires improve not strategy, to throw a ball through a hoop or hit someone with a ball. Wow so much fun, is that why less people show up to watch?" Henry spoke smiling at the girl as he took a breath then would continued" dueling requires strategy, intellect, precision, patience, and team work. You have to strategize with your partner but be willing to change that strategy at a moments notice, always thinking of your opponents next spells and your own. Watching your aim and dodging ability at the same time and not all spells are Latin, some are greek or French," Henry smiled at Scarlett a part of him enjoying this debate between then but not wanting to start a fight with the girl, he quickly added" what about a truce for now?" Henry would offer a small smile and hold out his hand for her regardless if she took it or not he wouldn't argue any further.
Henry would cross his arms over his chest at the sound of her agreeing to duel and being 'nice' the young lad did grow up with her and could tell certain things. Henry offered a smile and thought for a moment as he spoke" the dueling room and you can choose the time, I'm also nice," offering a smile but that ended and finally the prank.
Henry couldn't help a little smile at Scarlett's words about the prank, he did expect something interesting and thought out from the girl. After all she was a pranking genius, if he remembered correctly back at godric hollow. Henry was the bookworm or academic genius and Scarlett was the pranking and social genius. The pair they once made...
"Of course I expected nothing less from the Pranking queen," Henry replied not even realizing that he said those words as one hand was placed on the knob and the other on the door. Reading to release the prank.
Slightly glad to be helping Scarlett as he listened to her count off before whispering" now!" and opening the door just enough for Scarlett to throw the boomerang in then shutting it once she did. Smiling at her.
