History/Background Story: Violet was born in Germany before she moved back to England with her parents at the age of 2. Her parents then divorced at five, with her mum going back to Germany, and hasn't been in contact since. Violet and her dad spent lots of time together, outside of school and work, and their favourite activity to do together is ice-skating. Violet is an only child and doesn't have any close friends outside of school, but gets along with a majority in her classes which you would call friends. Home life is pretty simple, it's just her, dad and her cat, Meow meow, and whilst they're not struggling for money, they're not rich either. It seemed like Violet may be magical when items around her started to levitate, which her dad ruled of as a fluke (being a muggle). Eventually her dad finally started to believe in magic when he saw the cat levitate to the ceiling. Arriving at Hogwarts was one of the most amazing sights to Violet, everyone on the train was so nice to her, but at the same time the ride and viewing the castle was very overwhelming. Everyone seemed to know each other, or at least know about magic, whilst Violet was starting at a blank slate. She missed Meow meow and her father.When the sorting hat proclaimed her Slytherin, she felt happy, and reassured that she belonged her. For a minute Violet thought that the sorting hat would tell her they made a mistake and she'd have to be sent home. When she walked down to the slytherin table, some older students moved over and made a seat for her, clapping her on the back as she sat down. Whilst she didn't really understand their conversation about forests and 'pigmypuffs', she was glad she belonged.Violet is studious, kind, but struggles with reading peoples emotions. Is very competitive in school but not interested in sports. Enjoys puzzles and riddles, especially numbered ones.

Violet Faraday - First Year Slytherin
[font=Monotype Corsiva]V[/font]iolet was born on the first of August 2009 in Leipzig, Germany, before she moved back to England with her parents at the age of 2. When she turned five, her parents filed for a divorce, with her mum going back to Germany shortly afterwards. That was the last time Violet had been in contact with her mother, and with no memory of her, Violet had to imagine her based on her dad's anecdotes.
[font=Monotype Corsiva]V[/font]iolet and her dad, in result, are very close to each other, being the only family each other has left. They spend lots of time together outside of school and work, and enjoy ice-skating in their free time. Being an only child, Violet is used to having only herself for company and her dad is quite introverted, so they both enjoy their alone time.
[font=Monotype Corsiva]A[/font]t school, Violet completed her work quietly and quickly. She doesn't really have many close friends, but knows a lot of fellow students in her classes that she gets along with well. Outside of school Violet would finish her homework, play video games, or complete number puzzles.
[font=Monotype Corsiva]H[/font]er home life is pretty simple, with a average muggle house in the suburbs containing herself, her dad, and her cat, Meow-meow. Violet's father has an average job as a postman, and whilst they're not struggling for money, they're not rich either.
[font=Monotype Corsiva]D[/font]espite being a family of muggles, and having no wizard ancestry in her family tree, to her knowledge, Violet started to show signs of being magical around the age of 8, when a random item around her started to levitate. Due to its infrequency, and that the objects tended to stop hovering when Violet tried to show her dad, he eventually saw proof around the 16th time it occurred. He originally wrote it off as a fluke, but started to believe in the existence of major when he witnessed the cat float to the ceiling.
[font=Monotype Corsiva]A[/font]fter Violet and her dad were introduced to the concept of magic, and her enrollment to Hogwarts, their relationship became strained. Violet just wanted her dad to be accepting and proud of her, whilst her father wanted to stick with his traditional beliefs and pretend magic didn't exist. Regardless when he dropped her off at platform 9 and 3/4, he hugged her and asked for letters before the train took off, leaving him on the platform, hidden by smoke as Violet continued waving at the spot where her father once stood.

[font=Monotype Corsiva]A[/font] chubby yet fit man of average height, with bald hair, face tattoos, a bushy beard and blue eyes. Despite having an intimidating appearance, Ken is quite a kind and friendly man. He's the only family Violet has left, since her mum left them when Violet was 5. Despite having his prejudices about the magical world, he and Violet are still very close.

[font=Monotype Corsiva]T[/font]he Faraday's cat, Meow-meow is an orange tabby cat of 8 years. She got her name because the Faraday's couldn't think of a name, so they just call her Meow-meow due to her never-ending yowling. Ken likes to make sure she's fed, so she's currently a little overweight. She is very playful despite her old age, and likes to explore the bushland opposite her house.[font=Monotype Corsiva]At Hogwarts
