Overhearing Odd Owl Chats PV Celeste Wetherstead Closed

Place: Owlery and the stairs leading up to it
Date: June 12, 2021
Time: Early Saturday morning just after the end of curfew
A humongous yawn escaped Jack's open jaws as he trudged up the stairs to the owlery with a letter in hand. Though barely awake, he wanted to get the message sent as soon as possible to his parents. While he hadn't been able to finish writing it the previous night in time to send it, he figured sending it first thing in the morning was the next best thing.

Almost at the top, however, he was jerked out of his thoughts by the sound of a girl's voice. Frowning, he listened, wondering if he could hear enough to determine whether it would have been safe to walk in on her or not. She didn't seem to be singing nor reciting any poetry or play lines. Actually, from the one-sided conversation heard, it sounded much like she was talking on a phone.

This, of course, was a silly notion as Jack knew very well by now that phones didn't work on Hogwarts grounds. He wondered if maybe she was talking aloud to someone who couldn't or wouldn't talk back; at least not verbally. Curiousity got the better of him eventually and he quietly, carefully crept his way up the rest of the stairs, peeking into the tower in order to regard the strange speaker.
