Date: 10 June 2021
Time: 7.03 pm
Location: Quidditch Training Pitch
Private to: @Jack WarrenWith her trusty broom, Dart, in her hand, Koko walked onto the Quidditch Training Pitch, a smile on her lips. There was something about knowing that in a few minutes, she would be up in the air, soaring in the sky, that made her feel a sense of elation rush through her veins. Nothing made her happier than flying. Nothing.
She mounted her broom, grinning, and kicked off from the ground, already feeling the wind whistling past her ears as she did a few quick turns before speeding up. Koko closed her eyes and allowed the wind to blow away any form of sweat that she may have begun to acquire. A strange temptation ran through her mind, and as she glanced up at the sky above her, it seemed a loop just needed to be done.
However, Koko didn't think she needed to do that, not yet, so she only leaned forward in a steep dive before climbing back up into the air. With a feeling of what was almost determination making her heart pound, Koko allowed herself to roll until she was hanging from her broom by her knees as she zoomed around. Laughter wormed its way through her lips as she held on, and finally she reached up with her hands and pulled herself back up.
She began to slow down just enough to catch her breath, still flying quite a bit off the ground. Pulling off her gloves, she took a deep breath and felt a grin spreading from ear to ear as she laughed again. This... This was far better than any other sport, she was certain.

Being a Nuisance to @Koko Riddle
It wasn't every day that Jack was able to go out and just ride his broomstick. If he was completely honest with himself, his prefectly duties have all but quashed his 'act like a fool time'. Of course, he still acts a fool while on duty, but the point still stands. This was the time that he had randomly elected to use his fresh-out-of-the-box Silver Arrow. Warren had bought it in hopes that Broom Racing would soon be an available option for the kid, but sadly that time had not come up just yet. The lad whirled the broom up onto his shoulders and behind his head, as he took his initial few steps into the Training Pitch.
The sounds of laughter was caught by the passing of a warm June breeze, all the boy had to do was glance up to see another student zipping around through the sky. It wasn't only the Irish lad that was inspired to fly by the gorgeous day. Pressing down on the non-bristle side of the broom, the boy pulled the arrow off of his shoulders, and into an upright position beside him. He just had a wonderfully competitive idea, and it showed on his face. Pulling his hand through his hair, the boy yelled out "Oi!" In an attempt to look cool, the Hufflepuff prefect placed a foot onto the edge of the angled broom and started to lift off from the ground. "'Ey, Whatchya doin' up 'ere in the sky?" It only took a moment for Jack to find the other person in the sky vaguely familiar. It was apparent on his face that he was attempting to recall where they had met before but he couldn't for the life of him remember. Had they met before in passing or had they talked? Were they in the same year? Maybe a prefect? It was so hard to remember. Warren was shockingly terrible at thinking of anybody but himself and genuinely made his head hurt. Biting at his lower lip, it was clear that the cogs that were turning in his head were mucked up with cobwebs from disuse. After his small modicum of mental effort was expended, Jack just turned back to his original idea. "Oh! Are ya' wantin' to do somethin' fun, or would ya' rather be a snoozefest?" Very eloquently spoken, Mr. Warren. "So how 'bout a race?"

As Koko wove her way through the sky, thinking she was alone, she couldn't help but keep track of the sky. She had left the castle shortly before seven, so she would need to head back shortly before eight. She wasn't so well-versed in survival tactics that she knew how the sun's position corresponded to the time, but she hoped she would be able to guess the time - besides, she could stay out late and do patrols, so really it didn't matter much unless she wanted to take a light jacket, which she had laid on her bed.
Her thoughts bringing her to a slow stop, she glanced down below her to see the vague shape of a boy coming to the Quidditch Pitch. All in all, this was hardly a strange sight - it was a beautiful night, really, and there was no reason to not be flying.
Koko swooped downwards so she could see the newcomer more clearly. The first thing she noticed was his broom - a Silver Arrow like hers, although of course it was not as special. Dart really was something, and no other broom, not even another Silver Arrow, could ever amount to it.
The next thing she noticed aside from the colour of the boy's hair was his voice - and more specifically, the words he spoke with it.
"Oi!"
Koko felt her lips curling into what she thought was a half-smirk. So this boy wanted her attention? This was new, actually - more often, people didn't quite care about Koko. If it weren't for her position on the Quidditch team, her articles, and of course the pink badge gleaming on her chest, she doubted anyone would even notice she existed.
She tilted her head, and although she doubted the boy would notice her small gesture of listening, she felt he would continue to speak. One didn't just say 'Oi!' and not go on once getting the target's attention.
"Ey, Whatchya doin' up 'ere in the sky?"
She had heard that voice, she thought, but after a while some of the students started to blend together. She couldn't place where she had heard it or even if her vague thought of memory was just a voice she'd heard somewhere else.
Koko was tempted to respond with, 'Flying!', because that was exactly what she was doing up in the sky, but after a moment of what seemed to be thought from him (and what was hesitation on Koko's part), the boy spoke again:
"Oh! Are ya' wantin' to do somethin' fun, or would ya' rather be a snoozefest?"
How rude, Koko thought, but she couldn't help but feel laughter bubbling up her throat. She put effort into keeping her lips sealed in a firm line that would keep her laughter inside.
She hoped she wasn't shaking from the effort of holding it in, though.
"So how 'bout a race?"
...Oh, was this what the boy wanted to do? Race? Did this little twig of a child - he was probably less twiggy on the ground, but from the air he looked tiny - think he could beat Koko in a race?
Koko snorted and began her descent. "You know what?" she said, raising her voice so the boy might hear her. "A race sounds like a wonderful idea. I'll even let you set the boundaries so that you might have a chance."
Rude? Possibly. But then again, this boy had called her a snoozefest.
And besides that, it was the truth: Koko was certain her opponent would lose.

Well, giving Jack the reigns when it came to anything was a terrible idea. Let's state that fact right now. This boy always went one hundred and twenty percent effort into things that involve winning or hurting his pride. Luckily, the boy had already thought about that beforehand because, instead of having important information stored in his thick skull, he chooses to fill his head with the boundaries of imaginary races he was planning on having at some point in the future. Oh well, it was Koko's funeral and eventual loss of a race, so it didn't bother the dull prefect that much.
"Alrigh'. Let's see... How about up to the tip of the Ravenclaw tower..." He'd point at one of the decadent spires of the Hogwarts castle. At this point, the boy saddled up right next to his new racing opponent (If Koko would allow him, of course). Thinking on where else to go, Jack continued, "Then we can go straight for the whompin' Willow, 'round that at a safe distance...I guess. I'm honestly not lookin' to get in trouble with our lil' groundskeeper. Plus, I don't think tha' we're allowed to mess around with that one too much. Like why do we even have that on the grounds if it's so likely to kill someone...Anyways, we can circle the Willow and first set foot down on the center field of the pitch wins." The entire time he was speaking, the prefect traced the path in the air with his finger, pointing at each location he mentioned. First, the spire of the Ravenclaw tower, followed by the dangerous Whomping Willow, and finally down directly below the two of them. "So. There's the route. All we have left is for me to win. Yeah? Do you want to do the honors?" He motioned broadly in the direction they were facing, and then gripped the front of his broom tightly. This could be a great race.
