The First Class Closed

She timidly walked inside the dimly lit classroom, looking for any familiar faces. Finding none, she quietly sat in the nearest empty seat and looked up at the chalkboard. "Find your seats, class. Take out your books and wand and read page 30," it said. Autumn did as she was told, glancing around at the other students to see if they were doing the same. Nobody else paid attention to her, as they were all immersed in their lesson. Nobody came and sat next to her. Nobody knew she was there. Nobody cared. Suddenly, the curtains at the back of the classroom burst open and a shadowy figure stood there, her silhouette almost carved into the wall. The students jumped up, afraid of this magical being, but were forced back into their seat by an invisible wall. More writing appeared on the chalkboard as the formidable professor walked, her heels clacking on the floor, down the aisle to the front of the class. "These are your permanent seats," the chalkboard read. Autumn looked around. Nobody was within 3 seats of her. She breathed a great sigh of relief, as she was very shy. The professor gazed around the classroom, studying the students, and began the lesson.
The First Class Closed
Sitting in one of the backseat of the classroom she watched the professor with a keen eye, flipping her pages towards page 60. Her crystal blue eyes shimmered as she looked down towards the page she was now on, frowning as she read and fumbling with a quill. Currently, she was unable to sit still, constantly shifting and reshifting as her robes brushed along the ground. Once she finished reading her page her gaze drifted up towards the new writing on the chalkboard. She pursed her lips once she saw this, unsure if she would truly enjoy this class or even this seat, but she sunk down lightly into the seat and ran her hand through her fluffy golden brown hair.

Being anxious as the class started she finally rested her never ending twitchy hands into her lap, her heart feeling like it’s in her throat as she kept silent. Glancing around at her other classmates she looked interested in them but she didn’t say anything, just lightly letting out a frustrated sigh before going back to looking at the front of the classroom. She had cat hair that reached down her clothes, her mind wandering back to her Maine coon that waits back in her room at home, curled up in his basket and sleeping away while he waited for his owner to return. Dakota was hardly able to keep her eyes open, her head sometimes slumping forward before she jolted and woke herself up.
