────────────────────────────────────────────────FOR A PUREBLOOD, CEDRELLA'S knowledge of Potions was scarce, for the lack of a better word.
While she had watched her older brother, Bartolomeo, mix ingredients and brew potions more times than she could count, all throughout her childhood, she never found herself interested enough to let him teach it to her. Or explain what he was doing, at all.
To be fair, he most likely did explain in extensive detail; going on about what ingredients he'd use, its properties, how to properly mix them together, and so on, and on... but Cedrella never really paid attention, far more interested in designing characters in parchments he wouldn't use, sat down at his work table, as Bartolomeo ranted about whatever he wanted.
Bartolomeo would talk freely about Potions at every chance he got, and, much like her other brother, Bennedict, Cedrella would gladly let him do his thing, but she'd tune out, and do her thing instead. It was not one occasion, that he'd kidnap her from her private office upstairs, only to force her to watch and assist with whatever healing potions he'd have to master for his Healer program.
Thanks to all of this supposed lack of interest (which totally came from the fact it was something her brother liked, therefore she had to dislike, as his younger sister), Cedrella had not been excited for her first real Potions lesson ever. With the addition of waking up late, and having less than fifteen minutes to enjoy her breakfast, Cedrella is, and understandably so, in a rather sour mood.
She made her way towards the dungeons, grumpily, making sure she had all of her things with her: Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger, parchment rolls, a quill, her cauldron, copper scales, and glass vials. The most empty look to her face, Cedrella trailed along other Ravenclaws, and as soon as the Professor arrived, she found a table in the middle of the classroom.
It's colder in there than the rest of the castle, and it has Cedrella wondering if the Slytherin common room is equally as cold. As she looks around, Cedrella spots picked animals in glass jars. Her frown deepens. Great.
Scoffing, she grabs her parchment and quill, dipping it into the inkwell, quietly scribbling random dialogue phrases for the short tale she had been writing for her grandmother, no longer interested. Someone sits next to her, but Cedrella barely pays attention to her surrounding at this point.
The introductory lesson begins, but Cedrella tunes out completely.

Samantha tiptoed, trying to look over the heads of the other students and catch a glimp of the potion classroom. She failed horribly, not because the other students where that tall, but because she was to small. The girl was really excited for her first potion class, she had read trough her potion book in summer break and was so impressed by everything that was in it that she just couldn't wait for her first class.
For the muggleborn the idea of mixing ingredients and getting working potions out of it was fascinating. It was not just potions that Samantha found fascinating, she found anything magical fascinating. Sure she had read the tales about witches, but that is what she thought it were: fairytales, story's made by people with a big imagination. She was now standing right in front of the class where she would learn how to brew potions and she wasn't going to let anything stop her from becoming great at potions, or anything magical for that matter.
After Samantha had made her way into the class room, she placed her back on a table in the middle of the classroom, next to a blond girl who was scrambling something on a piece of parchment. Samantha didn't want to disturb the girl so she quietly placed her textbook, notebook and wand on the desk.
As the teacher starts talking Samantha starts taking notes of everything he is saying. Everything that was told seemed important and the young Ravenclaw tried to write it all down. Luckily for her the teacher paused, allowing all the students to finish their notes. When Samantha had finished her notes, she looked up just in time to see the teacher walking around making sure everybody was paying attention.
The girl that was sitting next to Samantha didn't seem to be interested in the class and her notes were nothing in comparison to Samantha's. The professor coming closer to their table, and the other girl was still not paying attention to the class. Samantha didn't want the girl with autumn eyes to be called out by the professor, so Samantha poked the girl with her elbow wispering: "You have got to pay attention!"

────────────────────────────────────────────────AT THE SUDDEN JAB AT her ribs, Cedrella almost hissed, like some sort of angry, old, grumpy alley cat.
Cedrella Blythe frowned like never before. The sour expression that took over her features was different than any other glare she's ever conjured in her short life, as the girl stared the other to death, unsure of what could possibly have made the student sitting next to her think it was plausible to suddenly poke her like that when they haven't even exchanged names.
It's not surprising that an introvert such as the youngest Blythe would absolutely despise human touch; Cedrella quite preferred to keep an arm-length distance from anyone she didn't know all that well, as a way of protecting herself, and clearly stating that they were not allowed in her personal bubble. (Bennedict had jokingly said such "tactic" made her look arrogant and spoiled, but all that got him was another glare from her end).
Perhaps, he's right. More often than not, she'll be startled whenever her own brothers brushed their arms against her and would frown and pout like the brattiest baby... One time, Cedrella had busied herself with writing a letter to her grandmother, as the older woman had started her American tour to promote her most recent book, and her mother decided to invade her room, to her know dinner was ready, by merely placing her hand over Cedrella's arm. The shrilled scream her daughter let out had Annelise Blythe stunned, unsure of what to do that could remedy the fear taking over her child's future.
Cedrella cared for her personal space far too much for an eleven-year-old, that, she knew very well, and couldn't deny.
She had been trying to be more open to it, as a way to let her family members more comfortable around her, but, not so random strangers at Hogwarts could touch her whenever they pleased.
The girl had said something, too, which she didn't manage to understand, but figured it wasn't important. Cedrella took her appearance, eyes scanning her up and down. With a round face, the girl had wavy brown hair and bright blue eyes. Cedrella had never seen her before. Her black robes signalized she, too, was a Ravenclaw, and that had the youngest Blythe clicking her tongue in distaste.
Bitterly, Cedrella scoffed at her words, scooting her chair as far away from that girl as possible, while still keeping her belongings over the table. Going back to her parchment, dipping the tip of the quill inside the inkwell, Cedrella hissed, "Don't touch me,"────────────────────────────────────────────────

Something being spoken
Samantha's thoughs
The girl looked at her like she had just been stabbed with a knife, even though all Samantha did was trying to help her. Samantha's good mood was immediately killed when she saw the death stare of her classmate. If looks could kill, Samantha would be dead right away.
Before the brunette could react, the other girl had already moved as far away from Samantha as possible. The blue eyes filled itself with disbelieve when the girl hissed: "Don't touch me."
"Well, sorry, I was just trying to help!" Samantha felt attacked by the girl's demand not to be touched, all she did was trying to help. The disbelieve in Sam's eyes made place for annoyance: "You know what, next time I won't. You know, I've never met anyone who dies from human touch, but I guess for everything is a first time." Samantha looked provocative at the girl. She made a little note in her head, the names "Death Stare Girl" and "Untouchable" suited her classmate well, she promised herself that that was all she was ever going to call the girl again.
Samantha turned her back to the death stare girl, she had better things to do, like paying attention to the class and taking notes. The teacher was already talking, which meant that Samantha had probably missed important information, just because Untouchable hadn't been paying attention. Annoyed by everything Samantha started to take notes aggressively, almost breaking her quill.
"It's all her fault, before she talked to me I was doing fine, it is all because Death Stare didn't want to pay attention. I missed a part of the explanation and I almost broke my quill. It is all her fault."ReducioOOC note: Samantha is being a little drama queen, it's not all Cedrella's fault. I hope you don't mind Samantha calling (in her head) Cedrella "Untouchable" or "Death Stare", if you do I can change it!

────────────────────────────────────────────────IT'S HARD TO GET ON HER nerves, most of the time.
Cedrella prided herself in her patience. Shutting herself off from most social interactions had gifted her in some way. Additionally, as the youngest sister of Bartolomeo and Bennedict, Cedrella had to be blessed with a surprising amount of patience and self-control, so she wouldn't do things she'd later regret.
Most of the time, she took a deep breath and counted to ten; she'd corner herself with objects that calmed her down, or with people she could vent to, like her mother or the house-elf, and all of the momentary anger or frustration would dissipate like smoke. However, when Cedrella was already in a discontent mood, these emotions would only be amplified.
And right now, she wasn't near her mother or house-elf, or close to her bed, where she could hide and hug her pillow until she calmed down, no. The youngest Blythe had no intimacy with people inside these walls. Consequently, when the blue-eyed girl huffed and puffed on how she had been helping, and stated, with such an annoying tone, that no one dies from physical touch, Cedrella actually laughed.
A cold, apathetic laugh escaped her lips quietly, and she shook her head, hands freezing, leaving her doodles all but forgotten for a brief second.
"Very altruistic of you, but I do not recall asking for your help," stated Cedrella, as sharply as possible, turning cold eyes towards that girl. "So, I'd appreciate it if you could leave me alone and pay attention to your class. Thank you very much,"
Cedrella pointed towards the blackboard, where ingredients had appeared. Clicking her tongue, dissatisfied, she quickly wrote those ingredients down, deciding she'd write to her older brother on what potions the professor could possibly have been referring to, given the list.
Then, running her calloused fingers through her autumn hair, Cedrella turned back to her drawing and ignored that girl altogether.────────────────────────────────────────────────

"So, I'd appreciate it if you could leave me alone and pay attention to your class. Thank you very much," Samantha rolled her eyes at that comment, as if she wanted to talk to the Death Stare Girl, Samantha didn't like the girl and that was probably also true the other ways around. Click, click, click. The sound reached Samantha's ears, who was trying to focus on the lesson. She looked around to see where the sound came from and her eyes landed on the girl Even though the girls were sitting far apart, the brunette could hear it loud and clear. Don't say anything, focus on the class, she told herself, not wanting to cause any more trouble. She will stop soon, she can't keep making that stupid, annoying, irritating, loud sound for forever.
Samantha placed all her belongings in her bag, less annoyed that half an hour ago. The rest of the lessons she was able to follow nicely without any interruptions from the Untouchable. Sadly they didn't brew any potions, but it was still an really interesting lesson. The young Eagle had finished writing down the questions earlier than most students and was now already done packing her stuff. In her head she was going over the questions, filling in the answers she already knew, which where quite a lot.
