Scrimmage Sign-Ups

What with the weather getting nicer and the last official matches of the year just around the corner, Quidditch-lovers all across Hogwarts seem to be dying to get their hands on whatever flying action they can. A mysterious sign-up list for an unofficial pick-up match has been posted in the Small Hall, for students to jot their names down if they're interested in playing.

OOC Info:

Welcome to the first scrimmage of 2021! This is an UNOFFICIAL match, but will still be moderated by your lovely Quidditch captains, and will operate with the exact same mechanics as normal matches. This is a chance specifically for those who have never played in a Quidditch match before to be able to soar across the pitch and flex their skills, which means that this is NOT first come first serve. The priority list is as follows:

• Second strings who have never played
• All second strings and waitlisted players
• ANY Hogwarts student who would like to try Quidditch
• First strings who have never played
• Duelists¹
• First strings

@Cecily Quinn and I will make up teams, keeping them as even as possible in terms of houses and years, and will also assign a Team Leader on each team. This Team Leader will send us your plays/strategies each round so your team can have actions.

Please keep in mind that you will be required to post every 5 days or so in order to keep the match moving along. Additionally, because this is NOT an official match, the standard word count of 200 words will be enforced. If you do not think you will be able to keep up with that posting schedule, this may not be the match for you. And, of course, in order to participate, you MUST be registered in the Index (we will be checking).

¹Oi! Why are Duelists so low on the priority list? Well, see, we don't want you guys to be torn between this pick-up game and your actual matches, as those are starting quite soon. Unlike duelling, some quidditch players on the team may post in every single match, every single round, and never get to have an actual action. This is to finally give them a time to shine, as well as those on the fence about joining Quidditch a chance to test it out. To be clear, only current, roster-ed duelists are this low on the list. If you're a waitlisted, hopeful duelist, feel free to jump in!
