The Shelves
A library would not be much of a library without the books within it. Within the library, you'll find dozens of long aisles, filled with books. These shelves contain everything from the classics to the modern. Books of all shapes, sizes and contents. Some of the books are hundreds of years old, others have been freshly printed and added today.
Scour the shelves closely to find what you're looking for. Whether it's fiction or something to help with class, look long enough and you might just find what you're after. As long as it's not in the restricted section, you'll find a copy here.
Near the entrance, you'll also find a shelf to display current news and magazines. Here you'll find everything from the Daily Prophet to The Quibbler. You'll also be able to catch up on the latest Hogwarts Headliner, written and printed by your fellow students.
Grab a copy of whatever you find here, have a seat anywhere in the library and settle down to read. Whether you're looking to learn new spells or just read up on meaningless gossip, the shelves are a great place to start your research.
Guidelines:
- Shelves are for books and newspapers. Fanfictions should NOT be posted in this area, and should be posted in the Art Gallery. Any fanfiction will be moved there.
- All RPG threads should take place in the library board and will be moved there.
- Work published here can be read in character.
- This means that any work related to Harry Potter that is published here should be written keeping in mind our site's pre-existing lore. If you plan to write any newspaper articles about big events that occur in your character's storyline, please make sure this has been approved by our Index team (this can be done HERE).
- Any fictional work/poems etc, will be assumed to be written in our site's world. Please clearly state who the author of your piece is in this world.
- Do not plagiarize (this includes use of AI).
- Do not spam this forum
