Daily Struggles
Dawn entered the West Tower Owlery with hope of some insight on what more to write to her muggle friend. It being the time of the day where rarely anyone was around, Dawn had the place to herself. The usually cold area welcomed Dawn with a gust of wind. It might've been sunny that morning but being up here was always chilly. She wondered what it'd be like in winter with a strong breeze and shivered at the thought of it. She always made sure to wear her coat when coming up here, even though she's been here no more than twice, including this trip. The sound of fluttering wings greeted her as she smiled at the fluffy creatures before her. Being around animals always brought about a sense of comfort and amusement to Dawn. She strolled across the landing and ended up on the opposite side of the room where an open window was placed. She searched her pockets for the paper and quill she had placed there earlier and set them down on the ledge. Looking for some inspiration she looked out over the scenery and looked back down at the page. So far she had written:
Dear Kyle,
It's been a while since I last saw you and I miss you greatly. I often think about the times when we used to hang out in my backyard and the meadow. In my fathers' last letter, it was great to hear that your doing well. I'm looking forward to the letter you send me after this one so you better send one or else I'll haunt your dreams. I want to hear directly from you.
Dawn thought hard for a moment and realized with she was missing. Before she could forget she grabbed her quill and continued writing:

In my fathers' last letter, it was great to hear that your doing well. I'm looking forward to the letter you send me after this one so you better send one or else I'll haunt your dreams. I want to hear directly from you. Sadly, you can't send a letter directly to me, so it'd be great if you pass it to my father to pass it on to me. I want to know what's going on back at home. It's a daily struggle not knowing what's going on anymore. If you do this for me, I'll tell you what its like here.
Sincerely, Your partner in crime
Dawn
P.S
Excuse me for my polite writing, I know you hate it.
Laughing at the familiarity of the speech, Dawn folded the letter and wrote on one side:
She sealed the letter and scrawled her fathers name on the front. The minute the quill left the page, Dawn heard the scuffling of steps behind her. With widened eyes, Dawn swiveled around and met the green eyes of a Slytherin student, as she could tell by the uniform. Her tension almost immediately faded away and she smiled saying,"Hello" to avoid any means of awkwardness.
