Em hummed as he scanned the area around the lake. It was a perfect day to draw! Just slightly overcast (or was it cloudy? He wasn't sure what the difference was.) with no bright sun to hurt his eyes, but not so dark he couldn't see his sketchbook.

Ok, so where to go? The edge of the lake? But he didn't want to get too close.(the chance to see the squid up close was tempting, but not worth the risk to his sketchbook) There were some trees but. . .There were some other kids already over there. They were probably doing something. Hmm. . .Oh! A rock!

He smiled and ran over to the large slanted rock, putting his sketchbook in his near-full shoulder bag temporarily. He half crawled up the rock to sit on the top, carefully making sure he wasn't too close to the edge. He smiled and laughed lightly, yeah! This was a good spot! He pulled out his sketchbook and a pen. Okay! Now to draw the lake! He had been really interested in scenery pictures lately (Landscapes! he reminded himself) So he wanted to try the lake, cause water was fun to draw.

He squinted hard at the lake, was that a ripple, or just his imagination. He'd just draw a ripple anyway. He was sure there was a ripple there at some point.

He huffed. He couldn't concentrate. He looked around to see if there was anywhere better on the rock to sit and saw a slightly higher lump of rock a little further back.(How hadn't he seen that earlier?) It almost looked like a weird, melted bench. Without a back. Perfect!

He hmmed, sat down on the lumpy rock, started bouncing his leg, and resumed drawing. He started humming a song that had had been stuck in his head since he had left home, "...tell everybody that I'm on my way" He sang lightly. Maybe he should add a bear? Bears were cool. He didn't know how to draw a bear though. Maybe a bat? He nodded to himself. Yeah, a bat sounded good.

Florence was outside this morning. For a early little walk. She had been to bed quite early the day before and was up before other fellow Ravenclaw students. She had grabbed some sandwiches from the great hall and had went straight to her oak tree. She used to sit under that big tree quite often. She sat there reading or just daydreaming. Daydreaming about how her parents had it back home. What her grandparents in Norway did at the moment.

After finishing her sandwiches she decided to go down to the lake for a while. She just wanted to sit there and look out over the water. Listen to the sound it made and also the wind. But she didnt came far before she noticed someone sitting on a rock. That made Florence lose her thought about listening to the sounds of the lake. The person that sat on the rock was more intresting. She took small steps and was almost walking a bit stealthily. She didnt want the person to notice her. Florence liked to analyse people from a distance. Before she even talked to them. And you could learn alot by people by just look at them for a while.

Florence decided to hide behind a tree to get a better look at the person that was sitting on the rock. After a while she saw that the person was a boy and that he was holding something in his hand. Something that looked like a drawing pad. Florence had always been a bit fascinated by people that had the skill to draw. For her it was impossible. She couldnt even make a straight line. She was creative in other way like singing or writing.

She wanted to get closer so she took her hand on a branch and leaned forward to get a better look. But she shouldnt have done that. The branch wasnt the strongest and it broke. This made Florence fell right forward and hitting her face in the grass. Something must have been quite edgy if it was a rock or a bit of the branch. But Florence could feel some blood from her lips that was dripping.

The person that was sitting on the rock must have heard the sound from Florence falling. And also her scream when she hit the ground. Florence face turned red of the accident. How could she be so stupid. And what would the boy thinking of her.

Em looked up at the sound of a large crack and a scream. What was? There was another student on the ground nearby, maybe she had tripped? He was about to say something when he noticed a flash of red, blood?

He gasped, "Oh no!" he said, quickly standing up. "Are you okay! Um, just a sec, don't move!" He said in a rush.

He set his sketchbook down and carefully scrambled down the side of the rock, tripping over his own feet a little at the bottom and running up to the girl. "Are you okay?" he asked, this time actually waiting for a response before continuing. "Um, here," he said, digging through his bag and pulling out a plastic wrapped package of tissues. "I've got some tissues." he quickly opened them and handed a few to the girl. "That looks painful, um, I don't have my first aid kit with me, do you need to go to the nurse?" Maybe he shouldn't have mentioned the first aid kit, that was weird thing to have. This was a boarding school though, so maybe not.

"So, uh, what's your name?" he said, picking at his sleeves. "My name's Em." He wasn't sure what else to say now. "So, what are you doing out here?" he blushed in embarrassment "Not that you're not allowed out here or it's weird or anything! There are a lot of people out here! I was, just curious." He should stop talking.

He took a deep breath. "Sorry, I babble sometimes." He chuckled a little and scratched his head, smiling.
