Uncharted Hiding Spots PV Eleanor Locklear Closed

Middle of her First Year
Out of all the things that Connie Dawson had learned in her first few months at Hogwarts, one stood out more than the rest. It wasn't a particular spell. Or a certain piece of Wizarding knowledge. Oh no. The single, most vital thing that she'd learned was that Hogwarts had a lot of places to hide from people. If you needed to escape, there were countless different ways to do it. Empty classrooms, twisting hallways, dungeons that seemed to go on forever...

Naturally, Connie had tried to explore what she could. It was all in the interest of trouble-making, of course, and completely nothing to do with needing a quiet place to cry sometimes (shut up no it isn't.) Nonetheless, having a few places to slip to when things were getting spicy was proving valuable in her time at school.

Case in point? Well, that fateful afternoon, Connie'd dashed off from the stairs to the second floor hallway, checking over her shoulder at every instance to see if the prefect was still following her. Just her luck to have him watching when she stood up to that Slytherin boy. He could boast about all the magic in his family he wanted, didn't matter much when you got punched in the face.

As she dashed, her steps echoing softly on the dusty carpet, robes trailing after her, she found what she was looking for. A little nook, hidden just behind a brazier. Connie winced as she slipped around it, feeling the stone scratch into her back. Kneeling down, she kept watch and held her breath tightly, just waiting for the call out. Waiting to see the prefect heading down there with a look of anger.

As she heard footsteps approaching, she clasped her hand over her mouth. She felt like even a single breath would give her away as she peeked through, trying to see as much as she could without revealing herself. A pair of legs in dark trousers emerged, pausing there. She assumed whoever it was had stopped, suspecting she was around, trying to sniff her out.

Go away, go away, you didn't see anything, it was an illusion... she thought, almost trying to will the idea into existence.

Fortunately enough, the pair of legs turned and left, their footsteps getting softer and softer as they moved back towards the stairs. Connie held her breath for a few nervous seconds before letting out a tiny sigh of relief. Standing up, she tried to brush the dust off her robes as she made to move out of the nook.

This entire castle is a dusty mess. I guess vacuum cleaners don't work here.
