The night that marks the first day back for Hogwarts students. Henry would have to wait five more years to attend the magical school but that night he wasn't dreaming about casting magic or finding friends, no. Instead he was crying alone in his bedroom because the six year old missed his older brother.
Arthur was a third year at Hogwarts and having a 8 year age difference between the two boys meant that there would be times where they would be separated but the young blue eyed boy hasn't grown into the mature independent slytherin that he would will become. Right now Henry was attached to his older brother and loved him dearly, at most times thought of him as his best friend so he couldn't help but miss him.
The young boy was crying on his bed, the bottom bunk of a bunk bed is carved from wood to look like a ship from the Chorics Of Narnia which is one of Henry's favorite books. His room was decorated base on the book series with a closet that was carved to match the detail of the one in the books then a set of drawers and trunk by the end of his bed with a compass carved into it. A book shelf lined one side of the wall and a corner on the other piled high with books. The walls were originally a blue color but now was painted like pages from the book series with a window overlooking the Godric Hollow by his bed.
Even though the boy had a room all to himself, he still wanted a bunk bed since occasionally his twin; Annabeth and him would sleep in the same room.
Although that night the six year old was alone and that was what he wanted as his tears ran into his pillow and eye were beginning to become red and puffy with his breathing going more quicker than usual. His anxiety was hiding away at this current time slowly revealing it self with each stressful event like this one.
The boy clutched onto a small fox toy that was a gift from his older brother as the events of earlier in the day played in his mind. He woke up to breakfast with his family as usual but then was rushed to the train station when he had to say goodbye to his older brother for a whole year, remembering crying at station and his father carrying him home. Where once at home, the six year old would have run to his room and crawled onto his bed where he would remain, crying for his brother. Not even changing out of his jeans and long sleeve blue shirt.
The time was just past 6 and he could hear his father's voice calling him down to dinner but the six year old couldn't move. He couldn't find the strength to call back or leave that bed, all he could do was think about his older brother and let the tears fall from his eyes.
When the door clicked open at first Henry thought it was his father or twined sister and tried to say 'go away' but with his tears all that came out was a choked our cry.
The mattress of the bottom bunk would shift ad the figure would sit next to Henry before slowly stroking his head as they spoke" I know you miss him darling but you'll see him during Christmas break so why don't you come down for dinner," it was his mum; Ivy Knight.
Ivy would lean back a bit against the headboard of her youngest son's bed as she stroked one hand on his hand the the other laid on his shoulder. Henry however stayed curled up on his bed, still crying as he was trying to say" I...I... I m..miss Art, he's m...my b..best f...friend. I...I..I d...don't have a..anyone now t...to h..hang... hangout with," before tears started to rush down the boy's face.
"That's not true, you have your sister and your father and me. And I bet you that this year you will be able to talk to the other kids and make a friend," Ivy spoke trying to soothe Henry as the boy roll and laid his head on his mother's lap allowing her to stroked his head with one hand and hold him with the other.
Henry tried to speak but couldn't as tears rushed out and he begun to cough, forcing Ivy to pull him off her lap and hold him on her ches6 as she spoke" you alright, just relax. Breath my little boy, breath my-" a pause as Ivy got a idea before continuing" breath my Petit Loup," Ivy would hold Henry to her chest and slowly begin to rock.
As Henry tried to breath with hiccups occasionally popping up for a few minutes. The two would remain this way for a while until the boy would have enough control to speak and little tears falling from his eyes as he spoke"Petit Loup? D..doesn't t...that m..mean Little or T..Tiny in F..french, Mum," Henry would rest his head on his mother's chest.
Ivy would squeeze him gently as she spoke"yes it does my smart little boy. Petit Loup means little wolf in French, " Henry felt better or calmer at least but was unsure about something.
Why would his mum call him little wolf?
"M...mum? W..why d..did you c..call m..me little w..wolf?"
The six year old would keep his head on his mother as he inclined his head upward a bit at a angle so he could see her face a bit, tears started to dry out on his cheeks.
Ivy would hold her son with one arm and with the other push the strands of hair from his face before leaving her hand on his cheek as she spoke" wolves are brave creatures that are courageous and smart but also are very loyal to their pack," Ivy would then wrap her arms around Henry's wrist and pull him onto her lap gently causing a laugh from the boy before he leaned against his mother again as she spoke" and you Henry are brave, intelligent, courageous, and loyal even if you can't see it just know that it's always there. Which makes you a wolf, my little wolf,"
Henry would smile up at his mother slowly reaching for her hands before holding onto to them and with a smile saying" I...I am a w..wolf and w..wolves a...are b..brave!"
Ivy would smile at her son before saying" yes, you are my Petit Loup, now what about we go to dinner now," Henry would nod to his mother before getting off of the bed and waiting for her.
Together the two would leave the room and head downstairs to dinner as Henry smile the whole way there.
Yes he missed his brother but he would look up to his mother's words and follow them because the six year thought to himself that he needed to be brave and loyal.
He was Petit Loup. He was a wolf. According to his mum at least.
