oh, comely
open to 1 person!
Studying.
Studying wasn't really Joanie's thing, everyone who knew her knew it. She couldn't even keep her mind on one standalone topic, much less keep her eyes on a book and practice spell after spell without having someone in there to whip her into shape.
However, today, she was feeling particularly ambitious today and went looking through the library's shelves, dragging her fingers down the spines until one caught her eye - and it did, a book about Griffins it was? She loved Griffins. She was quick to take the book and scuttled off to find an empty table, smiling at any students who looked up at her when she passed by. She had her bag with her, all the things she needed to survive - drawing supplies and parchment paper, but... well, it kept her going.
She sat down, cracking the book open - so many words... It'd take her a billion years to get through one page, great... She braced herself, crossing her arms over the table to begin reading, taking the time to reread every sentence because she had little capability to comprehend something in one go. The bright side, though, was that the book had pictures for her to ogle over, and ogle over them she did. She wanted a Griffin when she got older, and a dog, and plenty of other creatures, too.
Hm.
Hmmm...
Did she want to keep reading or did she want to draw a Griffin?
Before she could answer that question, her hands answered for her, reaching into her bag to pull out the paper and pens, pushing the book away from herself so she had room to draw. She never considered herself much of an artist, but she enjoyed doing it, especially with things she had her mind on constantly. She kicked her legs against the seat as she drew, making a small tapping noise whenever the back of her shoes hit the leg of the chair, humming whenever she'd hit a rough spot.
i fell in love with my fate as it crushed me to death.

oh, comely

Even superheroes needed to take care of their monotonous tasks. Freya knew this, despite the fact that she did not want to admit it. And, though she had a destiny to fulfill, she understood that she could not fulfill that destiny if she did not continue to study and raise her grades. You can't give from an empty cup, or something like that.
Repeating these wise adages as much as possible, did not mean that Freya wanted to study, however. So if there happened to be a distraction...she wouldn't complain, exactly. Freya halfheartedly planned, only bringing the bare minimum of study materials: that is, a simple Charms textbook. She didn't even bring parchment, only a quill tucked behind her ear, a dark feather haphazardly shoved in a mess of shaggy hair. Worst came to worst, she would simply scratch some notes in her textbook. Superheroes weren't perfect.
Her appearance was as sloppy as she was unprepared. Freya wore an oversized purple tee, a fuzzy woolen cardigan, some jeans splattered with bleach (not to look cool) and muddy tennis shoes. She looked like someone who had bigger priorities than fashion, someone who had perhaps been wandering, given how fresh the mud appeared. Maybe her brain hadn't led her into the library, but her feet certainly did, and with that logic, they brought her to a spot for study.
Freya cracked open the textbook and began to peruse it. The words blended almost immediately, and she attempted to look around the room to refocus. Focus, Freya did; however, her attention drew not back to her Charms but instead to a girl nearby. The girl seemed much more engaged in her task than Freya did, hands scouring around as if they did not need assistance in completing their task. Freya repositioned herself, with her feet under her buttocks, leaning forward in an effort to see more closely, though the hands blocked any visual. She continued to stare without any sign of embarrassment, curiosity (or perhaps, sheer disdain for what she was supposed to be doing) keeping her interest as the girl kicked her foot, seemingly unaware of anything but the art in front of her.
At one of the hums that seemed to indicate a pause, Freya swooped her legs out from under her and began to walk closer, leaving her book on the table but still carrying her quill behind her ear. When she was only a few meters away, she interjected earnestly, hoping that she did not disrupt the other's focus, "Excuse me?"
Many questions bubbled to Freya's forefront, and she fought her impulses so as not to overwhelm the girl. For all Freya knew, this girl had simply wanted a quiet time in the library, yet Freya knew something drew her to this girl, and perhaps there would be something exciting in their conversation. While she waited for a response, however, Freya scrunched her eyes into her trademarked scowl of concentration in order to get a better view of the picture.
She didn't really know what they were, and the questions escaped her before she'd had a chance to hold them back and wait for a blessing that it was, in fact, okay to interject: "What're those? Did something happen to them? One of them seems angry...but, I mean, it's really cool and all, I'm just wondering why one seems to have a heart when the other looks like it ate a lemon? Do animals eat lemons? I'm not too sure..."
A small, bemused grin lingered on her face briefly as she sought to make eye contact with the artist. Hopefully, she wasn't too overwhelmed by a small interrogation.
