Those Slytherins do talk, don't they? As Delilah descended the stairs into the dungeons, all she could think about was whether or not this was worth it. She wasn't even sure if she was allowed to be down here. Of course, she knew the rules like the back of her hand, and she didn't think that any of them mentioned going in the dungeons.

The day before, during dinner, she had overheard Slytherins talking about something being in the dungeons. Just what is thatsomething? She had no idea. The crowd in the great hall had gotten too loud for her to be able to hear it. Her curiosity had gotten the better of her. Usually, she wouldn't have followed such an untrustworthy piece of information, but with the recent defacing of the Headliner office, and the popularity of the paper with the resident Dhampirs being..well..dhampened due to that T.Ruth article. Delilah was looking for something to write about, something that people would be interested in, something they would read. Something that might get people to trust in the paper again.

Bottom of the staircase now nearing, her thoughts were getting ahead of her, was this a good idea? What kind of idea was this? She stepped down onto the cobbled floor of the dungeons, taking a few steps ahead. What was down here? Was there even anything? Although there would be no harm in finding out that it was just nothing, the most dangerous thing down here was probably just a rat. Delilah didn't have a problem with rats unless they had a problem with her.

Looking back at the staircase she had just come down, she felt a shiver go down her spine, it certainly was cold down there. Although, in reality, was it cold or was she just scared? Going further into the dungeons, her converses making light noises as she walked, echoing off of the walls and back to her. Turning the corner so she could no longer see the safety of the staircase, She immediately felt the dread of getting lost down here. But this was all for the story.

Repeating that in her head as she walked, it was all for the story, all for the headliner. She loved working on the headliner, it was so much fun. It wasn't too fun when the office was utterly trashed, but it was usually fun. Before she had noticed it, she was deep enough into the dungeons to not have a clue where she was or how to get back out anymore.

Up ahead, she could see the torches on either side of the corridor...out, pitch blackness ensued. As she approached the last lit torch she thought about things, why are there dungeons in a school? What are they used for anyway? there's nothing down here. Although, with the rumours that something was down here, the fact that none of the torches ahead were lit, was just icing on the cake.

"Lumos." Pulling her wand out of the wand pocket sewn into her jumper and swinging it in a loop-de-loop fashion, and the end of her wand came to life. She could have cast Lumos Maxima, but by the time she had thought of that, her wand was already lit. Giving some light to the corridor around her. Travelling into the darkness with the ball of light to guide her.

Until, of course, her two left feet messed something up, as they usually did. Her heart going a mile a minute as she tripped over....something. What was that! Landing on her rear end behind whatever it was she had tripped over, her eyes screwed shut, terrified to open them, whatever she had tripped over, it wasn't a rock.
