Why had she done it? The pain- it was there. It was real. Not that long before, she had been playing basketball by herself. She was doing great, it was swell. Until a kid knocked her over, making her ball get stuck in the high end of a tall tree.then the kid had the nerve to walk away. Paige decided not to punch him, she needed to get her ball. The thing she didn't consider was if she knew how to climb a tree or not. The answer was no. She couldn't. So why did she find herself doing this? To get her ball. The heat was there, too. Kids were going inside and Paige wanted to as well. But she wanted her ball first.
She grabbed a branch to pull herself up. She wobbled just a bit, but didn't fall off. She grabbed the next branch. The next, and the next. The ball was just up there... the branch it was stuck on was slim, and narrow. She could stretch her arms a bit... Her toe slipped and she wobbled. Her forehead slammed onto the branch with the ball. Her foot got caught onto the branch she was standing on and she fell, feeling pain in her ankle and her head. Her foot got untangled and she fell getting hot each every branch. She landed on the ground and her ball bounced next to her. She touched her head to feel a warm sticky substance... her eyes were blurry. Her ankle hurt.

Mistie leaned against a window overlooking the grounds. She chewed on some raisins as she watched students run about outside, having fun. Soon she would be having fun, as well, no doubt. But for now she was content with just looking as she ate. It was sort of relaxing, simply sitting on the window sill with just her thoughts to keep her company. Usually Mistie's mind was racing with so much, so she spent much of her time releasing that energy inside her, chattering away, picking up random activities, or simply snooping around where she shouldn't be.

But at the moment she was quite at ease as she watched...a student get bullied. Mistie sighed deeply, feeling her grip tighten involuntarily around her box of raisins. It was so annoying watching people get bullied, especially when it purely to bully and not even to joke with the victim. Even though she couldn't hear from inside the castle Mistie could tell that there was no laughter because of the girl's obvious irritation. Sbe had been playing with a ball when some random boy came over and kicked it hard it flew out view, somewhere high in the air. Even through her annoyance Mistie approved the kick. But it was clear that the ball was stuck up in a tree.

She watched as the girl made to climb up the tree, which made Mistie pause. Obviously this person wasn't an older student because they would've used a spell to bring it down. So it had to be a first-year like her, which made Mistie start towards the door that lead outside. Somehow she had a feeling this wasn't going to end well.

Unfortunately she was right. She had gotten outside just in time to see the girl fall off the tree, landing painfully on the ground. The Gryffindor froze, wondering if she were still alive even though the tree wasn't too high, but as soon as she saw movement she went off racing to the girl, barely acknowleding the stares she was getting from students making their way back inside like she and this girl should be.

"Oh my goodness—hey, are you alright? Hey!"

She skid to a stop next to the girl, crouching by her. There was a gash on her head, given the...blood trickling down. Mistie pursed here lips, placing a hand atop the girl's shoulder.

"Hey," she said, in a hushed tone this time. She didn't think the girl needed to hear any shouting right now. She snapped her fingers in front of the girl's eyes to get her attention, if she didn't have it already. "Friend, that was quite silly of you to climb that tree. Unfortunately we're not squirrels, we're wizards."

The young Gryffindor then noticed the state of this girl's ankle, grimacing at the sight. "...but guess you didn't know. "

Paige lay there on the ground. Her head felt dizzy. She heard far off yelling, and then the sound f feet skidding to a stop. Her voice still sounded distant to Paige. The girl snapped her fingers in front of her and paige blinked her eyes to look at the girl. Paige attempted to laugh. She patted her ball and spit out words. " this ball is one of my prized possessions, you know. And while we may not be squirrels, we can learn to climb. Which is something I've noted." She frowned and touched her head again. Ow.
Her ankle and her head hurt, but she has felt much worse. She was like an injury magnet. Her mom liked to joke by saying Paige was the reason her doctor drove such an expensive car.

She looked at the girl. Brown hair, and probably a Gryffindor. Clearly thinking Paige Is dumb. She pushed herself up, leaning on her in harmed foot. I think I need to see the nurse...

He'd been looking for an excuse to feel up to wandering the grounds, and today had seemed like a really spectacular day for it. He only lacked a good walking stick for poking at things... heavens knew he wasn't going to risk poking things with his wand without reasonable certainty one or the other wasn't going to go off in a particularly spectacular manner...

Apparently however, neither sticks, nor poking were required to find something interesting in progress, not with the sight of two girls near the base of one of the trees, one of whom looked dazed and might be bleeding.

That was sort of a familiar experience too, he'd had his fair share of misadventures, many of them he still considered worth the cuts, scrapes and contusions, though he was a little worried that the girl in the Hufflepuff scarf hadn't begun to sit up yet, and lengthened his stride toward them as she slowly sat up.

"Hey! Everything alright over here? You need help?"

He didn't have any spells that would help, but he was a sturdy pair of arms and a reasonably fast set of legs, he could sprint off and find a healer in a pinch, he supposed. He'd sooner trust that than the sparks spell, which he wasn't entirely confident he'd mastered the pronunciation to.

"I didn't see the action but I'm going to assume the tree won whatever dispute you two were having." He noted, jokingly, looking between the girls with a flash of a somewhat anxious grin. Laughter was the best medicine supposedly, though he doubted it actually did much for a knock on the head or a broken bone. Then again... magic was real, so who knew what it did around these parts.

"Her mom liked to joke by saying Paige was the reason her doctor drove such an expensive car."

LOL!!

The girl didn't look badly harmed, just a bit dazed. She managed to muster out a laugh, saying, "This ball is one of my prized possessions, you know. And while we may not be squirrels, we can learn to climb. Which is something I've noted." She touched her head and winced with an "Ow."

She stood up, leaning on her better ankle, saying that she needed to go to the nurse.

"Hey! Everything alright over here?" cried a voice nearing them. "You need help?"

Mistie glanced behind her to find a sturdy-looking boy with striking red hair coming towards him. She grimaced briefly, not really wanting anyone else to butt in on helping a fellow student out, but in case the girl needed someone to lift her up, this guy would be a great help.

"I didn't see the action but I'm going to assume the tree won whatever dispute you two were having." He laughed but the Gryffindor didn't join in, only lifting her brows slightly.

"We weren't disputing. She fell off that tree to get her ball," explained Mistie, pointing at the exact tree, then the ball. Afterwards she turned to the girl. "Do you need help getting to the Hospital Wing? Can you walk alright?" She eyed her ankle wearily.

Paige looked up as a red headed, sturdy built boy ran over, asking if everything was alright. She offered a weak smile. "I mean besides the fact that my ankle is most likely broken, and I'm injured, yeah everything is just swell!" That weak smile stayed just a few moments longer to let him know she was simply joking. At a time like this, laughter was always needed. He than made a joke, and Paige opened her mouth but Mistie answered before her. Paige waite until she was done to speak. "The tree stole my ball." Luaghter was the best, and if this all seriousness was the reason the Gryffindor wasn't joining in, then Paige wished she never lay eyes on the tree.

Paige joined Misties eyes to her ankle. Yup, it was definitely broken, or twisted. It was definitely weird. "Let's find out." She pushed herself up, but immediately stumbled. "I'd hafta hop around on one leg, and sorry to disappoint, but I'm not trained for a circus performance." Humir, she was spilling out humor. The best thing she could think of at the moment between the pain the evil tree had caused.

Quin was reasonably sure that anyone who had the capacity to laugh this close to the event probably didn't have a break, but then, she hadn't done much with it yet, and it had taken a bit for her to sit up at all. He was just surprised she wasn't outright crying. Breaks and fractures -hurt- like dickens. Either way, in spite of the irritated response of the Gryffindor girl, he suspected it wasn't bad that he'd come over.

"I... was joking about her and the tree" He pointed out, raising one eyebrow slightly at Mistie, and then to Paige. "Yeah that tree has it out for you. Must be taking some lessons from that sadistic sounding willow I heard about. Or it's just really jealous of your ball. Usually they like kites. And Frisbees."

He sucked in a thoughtful breath, looking between Mistie and Paige and reluctantly asked;

"OK so... as someone who's been in the 'well that didn't go as planned and it really hurts now' club... uh... probably we need both of us if we're going to take her inside. Think you can do like... an arm chair thing? You know where we link arms and then kinda carry her? Otherwise I guess I can run inside and see if someone can come to us, but if it's fractured or broken..."

If either of those were the case, the bounce of hopping would be new agony and he didn't particularly wish that on anyone for whom there was another option available.

"Also Hi, I'm Quinlan."

He just tried not to think about the idea that his first chance to maybe hold someone's hand at Hogwarts might be with someone who'd taken one look at him and potentially decided he was a cootie factory.

Did wizards do the cooties thing? Or wait... worse... were there -actual- cooties in the Wizarding world? That was a thought he thought he'd left behind a few years ago, but the magic world ripped the 'answered' tag off so many questions it was ridiculous.

Mistie knew that laughter was good in tough situations such as this but their jokes weren't silly enough to warrant any from her. Usually she would've tried to make fun of any situation but perhaps today was just not one of those days.

"I...was joking about her and the tree," explained Quinlan. Mistie pursed her lips. That definitely makes more sense, how dumb of me. But she didn't let on any embarrassment.

They both went on to joke more but she didn't join into the conversation until they started getting into the solution to problem.

Mistie liked the idea about making a chair with their arms but the Hospital Wing was on the third floor, unless they were gonna just drop her off inside as soon as they got in. It wouldn't be plausible for young students such as themselves to do all of that, especially if the girl thought her leg was really injured.

"Yeah, maybe we should just carry her inside. But it's strange that no Prefect or Professor has noticed yet. I was in the window and saw all the way from over there, so weird." Mistie looked around curiously.

The boy introduced himself as Quinlan. The glanced over a the girl before replying, "I'm Mistie."

The boy had explained to Mistie what he had meant, and Paige sat there only nodding as if she was being useful. Then the boy turned back to Paige and cracked another joke. You know you're doomed when a tree has it out for ya." She said, glancing back up at the tree with a suspicious look. The boy mentioned the tree stealing other things, and Paige patted her basketball.

"I wouldn't be surprised it if were jealous. This ball has made through many hoops." She said, shaking her head. Now for the serious things. She was amused at the boys name for a "club" and Paige thought that should be an actual thing. He suggested making a chair to carry her and she just sat there while the two who could still stand spoke.

"I don't think anyone besides you guys have noticed yet... so if you guys think you can carry me... I don't mind." Paige didn't bother saying she wouldn't mind any pain it would cause, she's been through worse. "Oh, I'm Paige by the way." She said. She looked at Mistie. "Yeah, that's weird..." She said.

She glanced around for any prefects or professors or even and older year student but she didn;t really see anyone who could be of help.

Henry Knight has been walking around the grounds with a book under his arm for a while as he occasionally read its pages.

There wasn't a lot to do that day so it seemed like the perfect one to relax as the young boy walked through the grounds, reading his books some nose followed by a commotion caught his eye.

Henry closed his book and held it in his right as he approached it, there was a boy and a girl there who looked unfamiliar to the young slytherin but that was when he saw his friend and rather close one; Paige Grant.

Naturally Henry approached and looked around as he got caught up with the situation, it appeared Paige have injured herself well then it was a good idea that he knew the bandaging charm.

"Hello Paige, I'm guessing you fell out of the tree," Henry spoke with a smile before drawing his wand with his left from his back jean pocket as he continued" here let me help, " the second year then pointed the tip of his wand at Paige ankle and muttered the incantation"Ferula."

A bandage than came out of the tip of the boy's wand and wrapped itself around Paige ankle. Henry would slip his wand back into his pocket before holding a hand out to Paige to help her up as he spoke" the bandaging charm has saved me multiple trips to the hospital wing before so it should help," that was when he saw the other two and would give them both a small smile as he spoke" Hello, I'm Henry Knight and you two are?"
