What's Cooler Than Being Cool?
{ Continuing from here. }"Go jump in a lake" was usually an insult, not an aspiration, though this hadn't been the case for Taylor Bumblebee. The first-year Ravenclaw had, for reasons thus far unknown, decided to take a dip, despite the fact that the Scottish Highlands in mid February did not have hospitable temperatures. She consequently fell unconscious from the shock. Somehow, instead of drowning, she washed up onto the shore and was rescued by the many peers who had witnessed her leap. Word rapidly reached Pericles Dralt, the prefect responsible for patrolling this area. After ensuring she was safely escorted to the nurse, the fellow Ravenclaw had left a detention letter by her hospital bedside.This is a detention thread, closed to anyone aside from Pericles and @Taylor Bumblee
It was vital that detentions be tedious, dry, discouraging students from making the same mistakes. Pericles was moderately intimidated by the idea of doling out "punishment" per say, so he aimed to also make the matter educational. It ought to be tedious enough to dissuade her from blatantly breaking more rules, though if she came away from the experience with new knowledge, there would have been at least one positive worked into the situation. With this in mind, he took a trip to the library and gathered materials to help her along. Several relevant tiles were selected: Hypothermia: Prevention, Recognition and Treatment by Juan I. Valdez Delgado, Verman G. Fernandez Garza; A Simple Guide to Pneumonia, Treatment and Related Diseases, by Dr Kenneth Kee M.B., B.S. Ph.D; Handbook on Drowning: Prevention, Rescue, Treatment by Jan-Carel van Dorp. These were waiting in a neat stack upon a desk in the second floor's unused classroom.
When Taylor arrived, she was given an assignment: write an article on why it is a horrible idea to jump into a partially frozen body of water. What are the consequences? What symptoms does the body experience when undergoing a drastic drop in temperature? Since she had decided to jump in front of an audience, she would then be orating her article in front of a small group of peers next to the lake.
To complete this detention:

- Complete the assignment as described: write an article, read it to a (NPC) group

What's Cooler Than Being Cool?
When Taylor woke up from her rest in the Hospital wing, she immediately saw the letter that was on the table. She groaned and leaned forward to get hold of it. She grabbed it and laid back into bed. "What's this?" She thought. After she had read the letter she realised that she had to do a detention, she didn't know this was wrong, it wasn't really her fault. Taylor decided that she should get her detention over and done with, then she wouldn't have to worry about it, so Taylor grabbed a quill and some parchment from the table and set of writing her essay;
It is a horrible idea to jump into a very cold lake because it could give you pneumonia and you could potentially die. The consequences are; detention and maybe even death. When a human's body touches freezing cold water, cold receptors in his/her skin causes straight-away physiological responses, first of which is a gasp. If this happens when your head is under the water, you are in quite a lot trouble (you might die). Next, you begin to hyperventilate, in seconds, your heart begins to race vastly, and his/her blood pressure starts to spike. The immediate shock of the cold causes involuntary inhalation, which if underwater can end in you drowning. The cold water can also cause a heart attack/panic attack due to vasoconstriction, the heart has to work harder to pump the same amount of blood through the body. For people with existing diseases, the additional workload can end in cardiac arrest. Inhalation of water (and maybe drowning) may result from hyperventilation. Some people are much better able to survive swimming in very cold water due to body or mental conditioning. You should never ever jump into a freezing cold lake, it is stupid and idiotic.
When Taylor had finished her homework she looked at the sweets and chocolate her friends sent her. There was lots.. fudge flies, sugar quills, chocolate cauldrons... and her favourite of all... Fizzing Whizzbees. It came after Bertie Botts every flavour beans. It put her off of those for a while after Taylor received a bagful of them and all of them turned out to be sick flavoured. Her mouth watered as she looked around the quiet room. There, on the trolley she spotted a letter from her parents. She opened it and started reading. She was intrigued of what they had to say.
